The Story of Dallas

Is it in the genes or the environment we grow up in?
Down to opinion and beliefs I guess. I think it's both and I said what had also happened in Christopher's young life.
A child can be brought up with the most loving family and can still turn out bad and vice versa obviously.

Funny how that photo (on the front cover) of the Ewing family is used/referenced most often; the smiling Ewing family. Amazing what secrets those pearly whites were hiding.
I always feel sorry for Linda when I see that picture.
She's said when the wardrobe lady dressed her in that yellow top, she asked if there was anything else as she didn't like it much or the material. Apparently the lady told her oh don't worry hardly anyone will see these pictures.

These are my favourite family pics
More dramatic and hardly used.
I would love a remastered copy of the poor quality one.

She shouldn't have worried, I think she looks lovely.

And you know what, no matter what she's wearing she still looks lovely today. :)

Enjoyed the magazine, its an easy read and no surprises in it but nice photos

Could do without the bit at the back on Yellowstone, Empire and Succession
There is also a page on Giant and Peyton place - would have rather they dedicated a few more pages to original cast here

Also has a page or 2 on Falcon Crest, KL and Die nasty

Glad to see a page on BBG and breast cancer / she usually gets over looked

Would have rather seen a bit more about Steve, Susan, Ken and Howard who are usually also over looked and cut out the pages on April dying in Paris (who cared not me?) and JR marrying the God awful Cally in the dying years of the show

Has a bit on the 2 TV movies and the Early years and Id personally have had only 1/2 a page on TNT Crap (1/2 page too many for me) but nice to see how much David Jacobs (RIP) criticised it :)

It also has 2 pages on SF but mainly pics of the tacky real interior of the house

Will be interseting to see if it ever makes it to the UK shelves - I hope they bring out a big and glossy one for 50 years!

Yes, the pictures are lovely. I was very disappointed by how many pages were devoted to other shows, especially the recent ones that Dallas fans don't care about. Those pages should have been used for more behind the scene photos and cast photos.

Yes i agree, too many pages taken up with other shows and I thought it was called the Dallas story - but i guess it was the same with Dallas Movie Mirror type mags brought out in the 80s - Id get all excited then discover pages on other shows and C+W music!!!

Would also have preferred more unusual / rare pics of cast and behind the scenes shots or more on the likes of Kristin, Afton, Katherine as well as the key cast always missed out like Steve, Susan, Ken and Howard - they were Dallas too!

However in these Dallas lean years, beggars cant be choosers ;)

Snarky Oracle!

The reference to newer shows was obviously, but inevitably, the magazine's attempt to make DALLAS relevant to the younger audience -- not that the kids are snatching up the publication (or even watching the current shows, as the younger generation doesn't watch TV anyway).

Perhaps the presence of the mag by the grocery check-out line will increase streaming traffic for DALLAS. But who knows?

They say even streaming is dying out.

Everything's dying out!!

They've become greedy. I cancelled Netflix and have no intentions of ever returning. I've stopped my auto-renewal on Disney+ and Amazon Prime as they are next on my chopping block. I predicted once streaming services hits saturation point it will become survival of the fittest. For most it's also become quantity over quality. I'd keep Amazon Prime if only they would offer me access to Dallas.

Since discovering one of my favourite series, CSI, is now available here in Australia on 10Play I've been watching a few episodes of this each night. Granted it's another streaming service and they do display commercials but it's free to sign up.

The only paid service I have is Amazon Prime which also includes free delivery and other benefits. There's endless free stuff available on Tubi and the network catch-up services, more than I'd ever have time to watch as it is.
