They missed the perfect setup for Fallon & Adam

The other day, I was watching this interesting little short:

And I suddenly came to realize that Fallon having a son *SHOULD* have made her even *MORE* ruthless, and not the weepy wisp she'd be reduced to. After all, it's pretty commonly known around here that one of the original plans for Season 3 was that Fallon decides to remain married to Jeff so she can take Adam to court when he gets Jeff to sign over his ColbyCo shares.

In Season 1, Fallon's grief was that father Blake wouldn't let her in the family business simply because she was a woman, so it makes sense that Fallon would try to live vicariously through her own son to get what she's always wanted. If she can't be Blake Carrington's heir/second-in-command, then at least her son be that...

...and the introduction of long-lost brother Adam would be JUST the thing to set Fallon off. If anything, she should have been as territorial as a pitbull when it came to Adam, doing all she could to shove him back out the door, kick him to the curb and throw him in the gutter. Trying to prove that he was a fraud, that there was no way that this stranger could possibly be a Carrington!

And when Adam impregnates Kirby, Fallon's childhood best friend AND husband Jeff's mistress, Fallon nearly goes to pieces, ready to go nuclear: not only is this a betrayal on her husband and friend's part, but this also means that now Adam is waving his own child around. If Adam truly is the firstborn SON of Blake Carrington, not only does he inherit what Fallon has wanted her whole life ("You didn't even know you were a Carrington until a year ago!"), but Fallon's own son gets screwed over too.

Thus, Adam and Kirby's daughter never should have died, as that would have kept the drama alive: sexist Blake now has a bit of conundrum. Should he hand over the business, the very one he built as tribute to his firstborn son, TO his actual firstborn son... even when he, Adam, doesn't have a son of his own? Especially when his favorite daughter has HER own son?

Adam: "I am your firstborn. You built this business, this EMPIRE, to honor my memory. I may have no son of my own, but Fallon's son is NOT a Carrington. He's a Colby. My daughter is a REAL Carrington!"

Fallon: "A 'REAL' Carrington?! Don't make me laugh! That little girl is nothing but a glorified bastard!"

Adam backhands Fallon.

Fallon claws at Adam's face.

The two start fighting, intent on literally killing one another, causing the rest of the family to jump in to try and separate them. (I also like to imagine that Amanda has already arrived as well, so that, during this family brawl, Steven punches Adam while Amanda grabs at Fallon's hair. )

More details:

At the center of all this drama are Jeff and Kirby, the cute little nerd couple who just want to be a happy family with their children, if only these "damn Carringtons" would just leave them alone!

Jeff eventually divorces Fallon and marries Kirby, all while informing Fallon that he's going to be taking full custody of LB - and Kirby is going to legally adopt him as her son. Fallon. Goes. BALLISTIC.

Meanwhile, Jeff also finds out that Kirby's unborn child isn't his but Adam's... but Jeff decides that doesn't matter. He loves that baby, Kirby is his wife, so therefore, the baby is his, and that's all that matters. Before the baby is even born, Jeff is going to see about adopting it so he can legally call it his son/daughter. Adam. Too. Goes. BALLISTIC.

So we have two little babies, LB and Alicia, causing a series of metaphorical explosions across the Carrington estate, turning each family member against one another. Jeff and Kirby just want to lovingly raise their children, but Fallon and Adam keep on interferring, scheming, conniving, backstabbing.

At the center of it all is Blake Carrington, a powerful man who now feels powerless to stop all the chaos around him. Who can he side with? His first instinct is to give his support to Fallon, but she's gone and done so many things (and not just men) that he can't approve of. Then there's Adam, his firstborn son, to whom DenverCarrington was already dedicated to. Next there's Kirby, the daughter of Joseph, the most loyal man Blake has ever known; how can he do anything negative to her? Even Jeff, Blake can't feel like he can do anything to the man, since Blake knows his grandson can only get the shares to ColbyCo through his own father.

Alexis, however, has no qualms about taking sides - or so she says. True, she openly sides against Jeff and Kirby for obvious reasons... but what about Fallon vs Adam? Where does Alexis stand on that? It's here that Alexis (though she'd never admit it) feels powerless like Blake. How can she possibly choose between which child when she's wanted them both back in her life for so many years...

Krystle, meanwhile, has an even easier time picking sides. She chooses to support Jeff and Kirby, believing that they just want a quiet life to raise their children. Of COURSE that would strike a cord within Krystle. This would also mean more fuel for the Krystle vs Alexis rivalry.

Steven would have an interesting stance, in that he supports Fallon (his sister) and Kirby (his sister figure), while denouncing Jeff (who cheated on his sister and even assaulted her during his poisonous stint) as well as Adam (for obvious reasons).

Amanda would go the opposite route, supporting Adam and Jeff, as she believes they are two innocent, loving men who are being jerked about by the women in their lives.

Oh yes, and Joseph would have the same stance as Steven, because of course he's going to stand by his little girl and by the girl who has always been like a second daughter to him. Joseph would put all the blame on Jeff and Adam.
