It's gone so lovey dovey, corny & sickly sweet, that it's making me cringe in places. I'm expecting the entire cast to get together for a group hug before the season ends.
I've only stuck with it for Kate & Toby, and to find out in the flashbacks how the worlds greatest Dad died.
I'm hoping for a twist, like he turned out to be a serial killer and was given the chair.

I thought this week's episode was the best one since it resumed after the Christmas break but I'm still growing more and more disenchanted with this series. I just don't really care about any of the characters any more but with only a couple of episodes left, I'll stick with it until the end in the hope that it gets better.

I'm gonna stick with it til the end too, but I ain't gonna watch another series of it. That latest episode had me bored out of my head.
Mandy Moore going through boxes to find a recipe book, and only then realizes that she has no ingredients and that her fridge and cupboards are all bare . And then she goes to the shop and whinges her life story to that guy.

No Kate in that episode, no point having watched that episode

I love this show. I haven't seen the latest episode yet, do we find out how the dad, Jack died?

It's a shame because when This Is Us started I really loved it, especially how they told the story in 2 different time periods and how things that happened in the present served as cliffhangers to events in the past which seemed really originally. However, once we go used to that gimmick it ceased to have any impact and the show just went into being little more than a saccharine-laden soap opera-like drama with characters that I didn't really care about. I mean did anyone really care if The Manny ended up with the plain playwright or the English actress with the bad attitude?

I understand that its viewing figures on Channel 4 (where it's shown here in the UK) have gone down the toilet and I'd be amazed if they picked it up for a second season, or they may stick it on E4, a channel that has more people working on it than it has viewers for some shows.

I love this show. I haven't seen the latest episode yet, do we find out how the dad, Jack died?

I'm guessing it's going to be part of the end of season cliffhanger but Kate said she felt responsible, we don't yet know how. I hope she subjected him to a death as painful as it has become watching the show since it returned from its Christmas break.

Thankfully, just one more episode left this season and that's it, I'm done with it.

Well, I said I'd see it through to the end of this season. I failed. I didn't watch it this week, and only the first 15 minutes of last week.
I shoulda quit weeeks ago !

Well we've now had the season 1 finale and it was a total disappointment. Rather than progress the story or reveal how Jack dies, almost the whole show was devoted to telling the story of how Jack and Rebecca met, introducing viewers to yet another timeline to get our heads around. I don't care how they met, I'm done with this series now, I should have stopped watching after episode 3 when it was still good.

I still haven't started the second half of the first season - I don't think I will bother now. There's so many brilliant shows that I'm currently watching, it's a relief to drop one of them.
