I love April, have never understood the hostility towards her. She got together with Bobby after Pam had gone, she didn't have an affair with him or try to wreck his life.
I've never understood the hostility toward April either. Or Jenna. Neither were favorite characters of mine, but it's not like they're the worst of the worst. Take the Winger Tramp, for example. Now there's a character I could definitely do without, but I can hardly wait to compile 10 scenes of Sue Ellen insulting her.

Yes but The Tramp was - in the words of Debbie Shelton - a manipulative home wrecker. April wasn't. However I do understand the love that many have for Pam and the hurt that was caused by her leaving. I went through similar emotions with Cally although I never hated her.

I absolutely love April's cheekbones.

I didn't care that Winger Tramp was a "home wrecker." If it hadn't been her, it would've been some other airhead bimbo. And I liked at least two of JR's mistresses as characters: Kristin and Holly. The difference being they were far better written and acted. Winger, on the other hand, possessed a vacuous quality I found unbearable. In a Battle of Wits with Sue Ellen, she made Cally look like a rocket scientist.

So is that the reason people hate April and Jenna? Because they took Pam's 'rightful' place?

I can only speak for myself, but my dislike for April started when she first showed up in Dallas as Jack's ex-wife. I didn't like her personality, quite frankly.

Thus, my dislike for April has absolutely nothing to do with her dating and marrying Bobby later on. And it has nothing to do with Pam either!

If I was going to put in a vote (and I'm not), my vote would without a doubt go to April's very last scene in Paris, where she took her last breath!

I've never understood the hostility toward April either.

My reasons for not liking April have nothing to do with Pam, Bobby or anyone else, or even the personality of the character, it's all about April's role in the show begin boring and dull. I've watched Dallas through several times and I honestly couldn't remember any scene of note with April in it, except when she was killed in a hail of bullets. Even seeing other forum member's choices for favourite April scenes just reminds me how boring a character she was.

Was April involved in any big confrontations or arguments? Was she part of any particularly sad or emotional scenes? Did she ever say anything particularly memorable or significant? I don't think so, in contrast to interesting characters like Holly, Katherine, Afton and Mandy.

April suffered from being on the show when it was in decline, at a time when they were giving opening title credits to just about anyone. Had she appeared in the glory days she would have been no more than an "Also Starring" cast member.

I hate Holly for what she did to Sue Ellen but at least I'm open about it. I wish the old forum was here so you could see Luke's defence post of Sheree J Wilson because she was basically being blamed for Victoria's choices particularly during the TV choice awards. You're spot on there SER! :)

There is no favorite scenes for me with April. When I watched the original live show was annoyed when she on screen and watching the DVDs fast forward. I just didn't like the character from the beginning and do not think SW was a good actress and that combination is not good. Best scene with her in it was when she was shot and killed (no more April Yippee!!!! This made the show a little less sucky not that I was watching it much at the time after Pam exited anyway.

April had potential in her first season when she was a money hungry young woman who come to realise money couldn't buy her what she truly wanted a friend. The scene where she buys the restaurant stands out as her best scene from that season for me. I applauded her in that scene.

Then Pam left and we got the new version of April, Katzmans vision of how to fill Pams huge huge void. It just didn't work Sheree had passable chemistry with Ken and absolutely zero chemistry with Patrick. On top of that her acting just wasn't up to scratch as a lead female player which she only become by default.

Must echo the majority and say I didn't bat an eye lid when she was gunned down as after three seasons of horrible character growth I just didn't care. On top of that the seasons she was a lead character in were absolutely woeful in general.

Yes I was very puzzled by that too BF. Her death scene was voted the most wasn't it OME?

And what?! I never saw/knew of the scene where April tells bobby she loved him so much her heart hurts?! Puke! What a copy cat. That line was one of the most beautiful best scenes ever when Pam said that to bobby. Must've been absolutely vacuous when April said it. Ugh. I'd have done a Katherine and thrown my tomato juice at the telly if I'd seen that. Spewsville

That came first for a lot of us.
A lot of you.....?:confuse:

I only counted the posts from members who made lists of their favourite scenes.

As for lots of you, I'm not sure we're reading the same thread.

Angela posted that he found her boring and "I cannot think of a single memorable scene "

Victoriafan posted "Any scene throughout Dallas duration that April did NOT appear in" followed by "but would have been more entertaining, me doing a cheer leading impression while watching her last scene on the show. Give me an 'A' Absolutely! Give me a 'P' Pathetic! Give me an 'R' Ridiculous! Give me an 'I' Insipid! Give me an 'L' Lack-lustre'!!!" and therefore I was never going to take that seriously

Presea posted "but I'm afraid that I just don't like April enough"

Toni posted "Like Sue Ellen said once (she did, didn´t she?): "My Mama used to tell me, if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all."

Jon Ewing Jr. posted "Hate to sound morbid but the day they shot her ass was my favorite scene with her. I never did like the skank" and never listed anything

Ms Southworth posted "If I was going to put in a vote (and I'm not), my vote would without a doubt go to April's very last scene in Paris"

Maryann posted "There is no favorite scenes for me with April."

SueEllenRules!, Angela, Sarah
& Clubsoda all had a discussion about April the character.

The thread title is Dallas Top Ten and yet you want your votes for one scene to be counted?

I guess it's up to each moderator who counts the votes to decide if those votes will be counted or disqualified for not mentioning more than 1 scene.

Personally I much would have prefered to have seen at least five scenes with April listed by each member taking part in the vote.

With that said, I did count Sarah's one vote for Seven in the movie top ten thread.;)

Do they count? Sorry. Thanks
Because no one listed it as such

1. April dying

I took it that you were all just discussing the character and not listing favourite scenes. You did list 3, but as with many of your posts, I just found in very amusing and not taken seriously because you invented two further scenes.

The point of the ratings is to see who scores what point, however as is evident throughout this thread, it sparks off several conversations with members and when I come to tallying everything up, I look for numbers and slide past the conversations.
