Israel has always been incapable of an "appropriate response," yet we have to constantly hear about their right to defend their self. There was a lot of sympathy and goodwill towards Israel in the wake of the October 7th attacks, and understandably so, but it didn't take the Netanyahu government long to squander it. The fact that Israel used the attacks as an excuse to mercilessly annihilate and starve the Palestinians shouldn't have come as a shock to anybody. Israel's entire creation and history has centered on being an oppressive and occupying force. Their alliance with evangelical Americans who believe Israel is the promised land is rather fitting considering our own country's history of imperialism and land grabbing.

And it was obvious to a layman within 24 hours that Israel let Oct. 7th happen, knowing about it well in advance (if not involved in it directly false-flagily).

How many people have died in the war that Trump started against Iran? How many billions of dollars has it costed the USA tax-payer? How much damage has it done to the USA's standing in the world? All for what? A deal that is worse that the one that Obama signed and Trump tore up. Well done America, you voted for this.

Precisely right. Unfortunately, any politician you vote for in America is going to be a war monger. There hasn't been a US president this century that hasn't involved us in new wars or continued the wars of their predecessors. A month before the election, Kamala Harris said that Iran is our greatest adversary and that preventing them from acquiring a nuclear weapon was one of her highest priorities. She also said they were a threat to Israel, and Israel certainly pushed hard for this war. Harris spoke on Tuesday and said she would never have done the Iran war, but that's easy to say after it was revealed to be a complete boondoggle. US politicians have been saber-rattling with Iran for decades, and considering Israel was likely emboldened to draw in the US after the two most recent administrations gave their support for the genocide in Gaza, this sadly feels inevitable.

That said, Trump owns it because he's the sitting president. He's also made enemies out of many Americans, and Israel's not happy with him after this "deal" was released. Of course, I doubt that he cares since he can't run again. What will be interesting to see is how this will impact MAGA since many of his remaining supporters are staunch Zionists.
