Falcon Crest is on its cycle again and is airing the first season on the Primetime Soaps channel. I think Angela did not think it clearly at all. It was all self defense and accident. A blood test would conclude he had a lot of alcohol. What are your thoughts?

Yeah, it didn't make a lot of sense. I guess they thought it would look less suspicious is his body was away from the winery and a family member like Emma.

From a criminal standpoint, no. But I think Angela was worried about the “suspicious circumstances” clause in her father’s will that could result in Chase inheriting FC.

Emma was in shock and not making a lot of sense but admitted to killing her uncle. Emma must have called Angela, rather than the police, implying she wanted Angela to sort things out. She told Angela that she "didn't mean to kill him" so Angela's first instinct was to protect her daughter by covering up Emma's involvement in the death. Angela would have been better to call Philip to coach Emma in what to say to the police to leave no doubt it was an accident because a clever prosecutor could easily have presented the case as Emma deliberately pushing Jason to his death to facilitate her relationship with Turner Bates. Emma, not being particularly smart, would have been likely to incriminate herself further.

The most astonishing part of that is that three people who knew Jason (two of them being his family too) stayed in the car watching how his remains were blown into pieces in that fall off from the cliff (its first cliffhanger?). Did Chao-Li put explosives inside as if they were at the Chinese New Year Parade?
