I watched Wes Ramsey on Charmed and CSI: Miami and he didn't impress me on both shows. On Charmed it was a shock to watch him as adult Wyatt because little Wyatt was so sweet. Still it's hard to image anyone being loved by fans who's playing Anna's and Faison's child. It was bad from the start. They kind of fixed it when Alex turned out to be the mother, but I still dislike that Anna knew / thought for decades Peter was her child and acted the way she did. Writing for Peter reminds me of writing for Nelle a lot, but I liked Nelle's acting, so I enjoyed it more than Peter's work.

The time line is rather fuzzy, but Anna did not spend her entire adult life believing she gave birth to Faison's son. At some point in the past, she and Alex were kidnapped as part of that whole memory transfer scheme. I'm assuming it was during that period of time Anna and Robert were presumed dead, but since no one pinned down when this occurred, it's up for speculation. At any rate, she & Alex, Kevin & Ryan, and Jason & Drew were all taken to that crazy clinic in St. Petersburg and experimented on (Jason, AKA "Patient #6, was held captive afterward by our pal Peter). When they got hold of the Devane sisters, they probably were early in the experiments (Patients 1&2 or 3&4), which is why they could only transfer one set of memories from Alex into Anna--that being Alex's memories of giving birth to Peter. So Anna has only believed she had sex with Faison (ewwww) and gave birth to Peter for the years since the memory experiments, and of course now knows it was a false memory all along.

So now we know that Finn is Chase's father rather than brother. I don't know why they felt the need to do this, but anyway.....at least when we found out Donna (Another World) was Marley's mother rather than sister, we found out she'd been bullied into the charade by her evil father because he didn't want a scandal. And I'll bet GH won't do it better than AW did.

I'm surprised they killed Franco off. They've been 'reforming' him for almost the entire time he's been in town, and had basically succeeded. So NOW they give up on the character? It's been confirmed that Roger Howarth wasn't let go--they're going to bring him back in a few months. The big question is just who will he be playing this time? Who does he think he is....Michael Easton? ;) Obviously many people think he will bring Todd Manning back to Port Chuckles, but since Howarth was no fan of playing that character, maybe they will write him a new role?

Finn being Chase’s father really makes no sense to me. I can’t figure out why they did this either, unless there’s just a bigger plan in the works we’re not aware of yet.

I've been trying to figure out just what 'the plan' might be, but can't really come up with something that I can get behind. I cannot see how it benefits the storylines of either Chase or Finn, since their main storylines involve the women in their lives (Chase/Willow is still a thing, and I don't think the wedding bust-up will end Finn/Anna). Changing Chase's paternity doesn't really impact anything else in the stories, other than (probably) pushing Gregory and Jackie into divorce court---but they're third-tier characters at best.

During this reveal Josh Swickard proved to me he is one of those actors (like Lamon Archey on Days) I only like when they don't need to act. i also don't know where's the catch in this storyline.

Franco's death also surprised me. At first I thought it was fake. I never liked RH taking over James Franco's character, it kind of ruined Franco for me, but I was getting used to married Franco. I doubt bringing back RH as a new character will work. I liked Todd Manning on GH but without Starr and Blair he would be on an island. Maybe they could bring back Kristen Alderson, too.

Kristen Alderson was involved with Chad Duell (Michael) in real life, so she might not want to reprise Starr Manning on GH, since it was not an amicable breakup. The two main things "GH Todd" was known for was 1) his almost-marriage to Carly, and 2) his original ownership of what became Aurora, the publishing company. When ABC forced GH to write out the OLTL characters, Todd just sort of vanished, leaving Connie Falconeri to run it. You may recall a mystery man named Derek Wells bought the company. Wells was actually Julian Jerome, and when Connie figured it out, Ava killed her. Derek Wells Publishing became Aurora, which Sam now co-owns with Jax. Todd could, in theory, swoop in to re-purchase his company--and become Sam's new love interest if the writers want our heads to explode.

I'm not really fond of them bringing Todd back anyway, since I will never approve of any plot point that would give Carly even more screen time. I'm just worried they will do something similar to when they resurrected Franco for him to play. If it's a new character, I thought he might make a good Cassadine cousin or even a long-lost relative of the Westbourne/Obrecht/Reeves ladies. Some have suggested he'd be back-from-the-dead Drew, but another facial reconstruction?* For a bit of creepy, they could cast him as freshly-released-from-prison Steven Lars, last played by Scott Reeves. Having him play Liz's brother rather than husband would be odd, but at least he would have reason to continue playing scenes not only with her but with the boys and Scotty Baldwin and a possibly-recast Heather (live from Pentonville!).

(I know recasting Heather is a longshot, but they have been working Heather's name into things recently, and it would make sense that she would be interacting with fellow nutcase Ryan Chamberlain in prison. Now with her dear son Franco dead, she'd have a reason to start breaking out of P'ville and causing trouble again. The way Robin Mattson has seemingly dropped off the face of the earth says to me that she must not be in good health, so bringing the character back would probably necessitate a recast. I think Kim Zimmer would be hilarious in the part, and just the sort of stunt-cast they'd attempt.

* Drew returns looking like Franco, though he hides his face until he can get Peter alone. Drew approaches Peter on a balcony at the MetroCourt. Peter sees him and, believing it's Franco back from the dead, totally freaks out. He begs forgiveness and blathers on about all the evil things he did, then falls off the balcony to his death when Drew steps toward him. Drew would have the confession(s) on tape, and security cameras would confirm that Drew did not push Peter off. It's a bit like Chip's death scene on Knots Landing when he saw Ciji's lookalike, but it gets rid of Peter at long last and perhaps establishes that Drew is not the same nice guy who went down in that plane.

....and it's just like DFF said---there was a bigger plan we were not aware of. Turns out Cyrus Renault's reign of villainy extends to switching paternity tests for s#!ts and giggles. He made sure the lab results stated that Finn was Chase's father because Cyrus wants to get back at Jackie for the interview she did with Florence. Sami Brady he is not. But I guess this is a good Friday cliffhanger!

I'm not sure where they are going with Cyrus. In a recent interview Jeff Kober said orginal plan was to kill off Cyrus after a few months, but then they decided to keep him as long as Jeff Kober wants to stay - at least it's what he says... To me it feels like it was planned that Cyrus and Martin are Laura's half-brothers, but Genie Francis' Corona hiatus was too long, so they had to keep him. I like both being Laura's brothers, but I think once Cyrus is gone (which will happen sooner or later), Martin will vanish into off-screen more and more. I like Laura & Martin together, but it's not that catchy half-sibling (but now step sibling) chemistry Alexis and Valentin have.

Sending Sonny off on his amnesiac tour also meant they had to put his rivalry with Cyrus on the shelf for the time being.

I often wonder just what they have in store for Michael E. Knight, since he's a high-profile soap star with barely a character to play.

When it comes to Martin who joined GH in 2019 I wonder if it was the big masterplan to reveal him someday as Laura's brother or was he just another AMC guest star who by chance got last name Grey and when writers decided to expand Laura's past they realized Martin shared the same last name as her father, so they decided to turn him into her brother.

Yeah, I want to think they are that clever (and forward-thinking), but we'll probably never know. It is a great use of history, though. A lot of writers would not go to the trouble,

Compare it to the ret-con fiasco that was the Westbourne/Reeves family about seven years ago. They introduced Silas Clay, with the back-story of a comatose wife who he may or may not have tried to kill (Nina). He was soon working at GH with Chief of Staff Liesl Obrecht, who did not know him and in fact seemed kind of amused when she found out he might be a would-be wife-killer. "I'm sure you had your reasons..." she remarked, hardly one to get on a moral high horse about trying to kill people.

Then they introduced insanely-hot Nathan West, Nina's policeman brother out to nail Silas for putting his sister in an "irreversible" coma, Nathan met Dr. Obrecht at least two times and there was not a flicker of recognition between these two, either. But once Nathan's mother Madeline came to town, we found out Madeline (nee Magda) was Liesl's sister, and eventually Nina awakened. Liesl behaved as if she had been following Nina's plight all those years, yet she didn't know Silas when they originally interacted. Still later we found out Nathan was in fact Liesl's son. The effusive, devoted way she behaved toward Nathan after the reveal was in stark contrast to how she behaved earlier--which was because the writers had not decided to link Dr. O to all those Reeves newcomers.

It is interesting that Nina Reeves has not been in the same room/scene with Dr. Hamilton Finn since his introduction. I wonder if they would even acknowledge his resemblance to the love of her life, Nelle's father, etc. Given she doesn't quite resemble the Nina who woke up from the coma, they probably wouldn't.

So I got to see the show live today, just in time to see the second half of the wedding implosion. Thankfully they stopped Maxie from marrying Peter, though Anna/Finn seems to have been stopped as well. I'm glad they finally exposed Peter's misdeeds in a way he couldn't just lie his way out of, though it wasn't as "explosive" as I would have liked. Even when he's exposed and experiencing people gettin' all up in his face (Sam, Val, Anna), Peter comes off as wishy-washy and weak-willed, which flies in the face of how he's written. I think that's on the actor, though. I fear that if Maxie does not miscarry the baby, they'll drag this out even more by having on-the-run Peter kidnap her and/or the baby when she gives birth.

Tristan Rogers basically said what most of the viewers are thinking, though I think he should not have cut down the showrunners that way:
Tristan Rogers Sounds Off on General Hospital's Peter August Storyline - Daytime Confidential

If they wanted to kill Peter off in the final scene, all they needed to do was have Anna eviscerate him with one of those razor-sharp shoulder pads in her dress.

He's not wrong it's like using chewing gum to remove gum that is stuck to your shoe

Basically, Rogers said Wes Ramsey was "too nice of a guy to play this villain well". Some might say, "Oh, that was nice of Rogers to say--that Wes Ramsey is a nice guy," but most people see the back-handed nature of the statement, basically saying WR isn't a strong enough actor to play this role. Donna Mills is well-known for being one of the nicest ladies in show business, but she has played two distinctively villainous characters very (very) well. No one said "Oh, she's too nice to play this villain well". If you are good at acting, you can play anything. So Ramsey was justifiably miffed at Rogers's remarks.

From the look of recent episodes, I think the writers are having fun with the idea of Peter living on borrowed time. They have known for a long time that he's unpopular, so now they're writing for Peter multiple "confrontation" scenes per week with virtually every character in town, with a lot less "propping" of him in dialogue. But just how long will they continue to have him just wandering from place to place, getting read the riot act by everyone, before they finally stick a fork (or something else) in the character? The next Sweeps period isn't until MAY. Maybe Roger Howarth's new character will debut about that time, and cause Peter to have a Chip Roberts-type accident when he sees "Franco" alive and well? (That Knots Landing plot is stuck in my head, I tell you).

Do you think we're going to see Nicolas Bechtel ever again on GH? Spencer has been in action off-screen a few weeks ago, but I think Nicolas Bechtel is this kind of child actor who lost it while growing up. NuSpencer could fit in very well into current teen scene.

His is an odd situation. The show opted to SORAS Cameron and Josslyn, so having Spencer return (still played by Bechtel) looking three or five years younger than his one-time contemporaries would not have been an option. My guess is they are hoping Bechtel will experience a growth spurt that will allow him to return to realistically play the character as the same age as Josslyn and Cameron (who appear to be 17-18). I don't have such an attachment to the actor or the character, for that matter, though I understand his presence would allow the Nikolas/Ava relationship to gain some added dimension. If they were to recast, I would not be bothered, but as usual they didn't ask me. ;) I would hope that they would tone down his elitist/obnoxious behavior, but again--the producers seem to get a kick out of that schtick.

The same thing is happening with Brooklyn Rae Silzer, who still occasionally plays Emma. The producers really like Bechtel and Silzer, which might be why they held off on SORAS-ing their characters. So when Emma visits, she does not interact with Cameron or Josslyn at all.

Random nitpick: In scenes I saw Tuesday, "Mike" introduced Nina to that man trying to buy Phyllis's restaurant. Mike only said "This is Nina," then later when the man was outside on the phone, he mentioned having met "Nina Reeves," when neither Nina nor Mike ever said her last name. I hate it when the continuity folks fall down on the job like that.

On the plus side, I love how Chase looks with the longer hair. He started styling it differently and the longer hair really works for him. Not that he was some hideous freak before or anything....

I love it when GH surprises me, like when we found out Brook Lynn is not pregnant and all suddenly makes sense and you know Maxie's plan will work, at least for awhile.

Looking forward to what's going to happen with Alexis in prison. Maybe she's falling in love with Sean again.

Wondering with whom they are going to pair Cameron Mathison, maybe Elizabeth? Or Carly?

1. I had my suspicions that BLQ wasn't really pregnant, mostly because the padding was so badly-done. But then I thought maybe it was just a mistake by the wardrobe people. She looked "larger" than Maxie, even though Maxie has been pregnant about twelve months ;) .

2. Only on soaps can you have Pentonville, the world's only co-ed prison. I think they might bring him back to protect her from Cyrus's goons in prison, but also so disbarred Alexis can finally get him released. He was convicted of shooting Hayden and putting her in a coma, when in fact Nikolas had hired someone else to kill her and that other person was the one with better aim. Viewers knew he did not actually do the deed, but he went to jail anyway since he was....well, he intended to kill her and just had lousy aim. So maybe Alexis can get him a new trial and Nikolas will have to answer for trying to have his then-wife murdered.

3. At first I was hoping Roger Howarth would return to play Steven Lars Webber....but I think CM might be a better fit for such a role if they even intend on re-introducing him. I just hope they don't shove him down our throats every.single.day and shoe-horn him into everyone else's stories . I mean, that's why they have Laura Wright.

What's going to happen to Chase? Since Josh Swickard had a Netflix hit movie and is a young father, maybe he wants to leave.

Now that Michael and Willow confessed (and showed us) their love I wonder when will Willow follow in Abby's and Sabrina's footsteps, because the one Michael loves used to die sooner or later.
