Weird production design quirks

Yes, Kristin had some momentum.

There are two balconies, though. The front one is through Miss Ellie's room, and the rear one leads to the pool.

Mind you, not all the windows work.
Okay, but don't you also have to have bedrooms for SE and Christopher up there somewhere? SE had her own bedroom when Jenna lived there and I presume Christopher had his own room too.

There's just no making sense of it.

Really??

Sue Ellen stayed in both the "Jessica's Lair" room and the "Jenna's Guest Room" at some point.

"Jenna's Guest Room" eventually became Christopher's room.

Obviously, there weren't enough rooms for everyone. When Donna was there, they re-dressed JR's room for the occasion.

The location for "Lucy's Room" and "Ellie's potty" are theoretical but seem likely.

Furthermore, the top of the stairs should me more to the center of the house instead of at th end of the hall.

Right. Your drawing makes logical sense, but there's still not enough bedrooms. At one point weren't Donna and Ray staying there at the same time as Jenna when SE had her own room? And one would think Christopher had his own room. Of course, then Lucy wasn't there so maybe someone was in her room.

Not mention how Ellie gave rooms to half the people in Texas after JR & Cally's wedding.

Just hurts my head to think about.

I just mentioned Donna (and Ray) living there, and they re-dressed JR's bedroom for it.

But there not being enough room -- or rooms -- at Southfork is an old topic. It's apparently much larger on the inside than the outside, like Tardis.

Yes, it's amazing. In nuDALLAS, I wanted Sue Ellen living in the attic, The Madwoman of Southfork.

Oh, I know it's an old topic. Just irks me when I am forced to think about it.

Kinda like how it always irks me when I see JR & SE constantly swapping sides of the bed or the Ewing family members not always sitting at the same place at the breakfast/dinner table. Or why Linda Gray couldn't wait to cut her hair until after she filmed her first scenes after season 5 or why she couldn't cut it season ten to match what we had seen in season 8. Or why no one ever clipped Larry Hangman's eyebrows.

Starting to think I am just too nitpicky, but I can't help it.

Oh, we all do that. It's insane but it's why we're here.

In the later years, I want to see more color inside Southfork instead of those pale-beige tones that the '80s gave us.

I want to see a foyer covered in green damask wallpaper which goes up the stairwell and down the upstairs halls. I want a dining room covered in deep rose paper (and a number of well-placed green plants). And I want a darker living room, papered with burgundy colored panels (in case Sue Ellen comes back).

Or maybe, for nuDALLAS, a stone-lined living room and foyer:

Perhaps we could see the den/study again, enlarged somewhat, with cedar paneling and maybe even a billiard table?

Is this so insane??

And instead of the kitchen being there, as I suggested several posts back, should it have been established that Jock's den/study aligned with the chimney and two french doors which overlooked the pool?

I mean, that always seemed an obvious match (although very early episodes have the den behind the living room -- presumably sandwiched between that living room and the breakfast patio-terrace in the rear, but that was based on the Calder house inside which they shot episode #6 thru #15). The fireplace and two doors on either side fit that exterior.
