What a lovely, sweet guest in Stacy Galina this week.

There was a lot of warmth, and I thought she was very humble and modest, playing down achievements like her jewellery-making and tennis.

It's nice that she was there purely because of her fondness for the series and cast, and how funny that of the three women it's Donna who Stacy knows best through their regular tennis, even though Donna was long off the show by the time Stacy arrived.

Stacy's perspective on the Gary/Kate pairing seems to align with that of most viewers ("I was the babysitter..."). Since BTTCDS was mentioned I kind of wish they'd touched on Kate having Gary's baby and pairing up with Brian and having Abby's grandchild, but it's understandable some of this is going to get overlooked.

The announcement of next week's guest was very exciting! Can't wait to see that one.

Back in the mid-2010s, ABC attempted to revive Battle of the Network Stars, a very popular competition series from the 1970s and 1980s. The revival was mostly forgotten because they were not able to get many big-name stars. One they did get was Donna Mills, who had been very active in the original series, and in that mid-2010s period was playing Madeline on General Hospital. One of the competitions was tennis, where a member of each team had to return service (best of ten) from a tennis ball machine. Donna was 75 or 76 at the time, and she not only beat her opponent in that episode---she scored the highest of any of the stars in the whole series (something like 8 of 10). I was so proud of her!

It was sweet that Stacy seemed genuinely in awe of Donna's tennis playing, just as Donna seemed surprised Stacy wasn't playing competitively given the standard. Playing twice a week would certainly demand anyone to be in good physical shape.

Now I really hope they follow up on the suggestion of filming one of their games to include in a future episode.

Thanks for saying who the lady was. I didn´t recognize her so I was thinking, oh just another entry I´ll skip. But as usual, the comments of supporting actors (no matter if they appeared on the main titles) are more interesting and fun than the ones from the original cast (eg Kim**cough cough**Lankford).

Like you, I didn't recognise her from the thumbnail and thought it was going to be some random C-lister/fan. I only clicked in to make sure and I'm glad I did because I ended up watching it all the way through.

I thought that was kind of odd, too. Especially the Brian part. It's a key part of explaining Kate's relationship to Abby. Maybe she forgot it herself.
I thought it was funny how ChatGTP was wrong again. No Stacy's character was not married to Greg Sumner. She was related to him.
It's amazing how ChatGPT had become the go-to for information for so many people now, especially given the disclaimer that it can make mistakes. There are a lot of more reliable sources of information. ChatGPT has it's uses but an encyclopedia is not one of them.

I just watched this week's episode and they've got Alec Baldwin on:

I love how much fun they seemed to be having catching up. It was sweet to see how much being on Knots meant to Alec. They talked some about Julie Harris. This weeks episode just flew by. It was such a treat to watch. :)

Increasing the cross-pollination of the celebrity/nostalgia podcasts, Donna Mills appeared on Soapy, a podcast hosted by Greg Rikaart and Rebecca Budig. I'd never watched Soapy before so I was pleasantly surprised at how natural the two hosts (who are also soap actors) are in their hosting. Budig obviously does her homework.

I'd forgotten that Greg Rikaart and JvA had worked together on Y&R. I thought Rebecca Budig and Donna had been on GH at the same time, but maybe not since they didn't mention it.

Yes. It came across that his experience on the series was genuinely meaningful to him. I was very impressed with his memory for the crew and filming locations, right down to naming the accommodation in Oregon (where they filmed hoping to avoid the Olympics hubbub).

Interesting that Alec believes Ava Gardner appeared on the show after he'd left. I suppose that's because they didn't shoot any scenes together and so he'd have only seen her in passing. Nice to hear how welcoming William Devane was to him as well.

Does this episode mark the first time Doug Sheehan's name has been uttered in the podcast? I don't recall him being mentioned in any of the ones I've watched, despite fond reminiscences of other colleagues who have died.

I watched Malice for the first time recently, so I was happy to hear him talk about his "within an inch of her life" sex scene for that film.

I believe it does, at least since they've been doing them on video. It also seemed to take them a long time to recall it.

Chris Atkins was an unexpectedly entertaining guest this week.

Donna seems to have built great and long-lasting friendships with many people in the industry, and her long-term friendship with Chris is another example. Who else could casually throw into a conversation that she used to swim in Steven Spielberg's pool with Bruce Davison, or that Steven helped her move into her home?

I did enjoy the moment where Michele broke into an impassioned speech about how much she loves Donna. Sorry to hear Joan isn't doing great. She hasn't seemed herself since her back injury, and it's very sweet that Donna and Michele are going to pay her a visit.

Regarding The Blue Lagoon, the producers originally had lined up Willie Aames (then a teen heart-throb from Eight Is Enough) to play the role Chris Atkins ultimately played. Lori Loughlin (then an unknown teen model) was set to play the Brooke Shields role. Loughlin's mother then found out how much nudity would be required for her daughter and yanked her out of the project. Apparently Shields's mother was much less concerned about the effect such work would have on her daughter's career. So they recast both characters to assure the right chemistry. Loughlin went on to be cast as Jody on The Edge of Night and three years later Aames ended up opposite Loughlin on the same show playing a villain who spent his entire run trying to get her into bed. Small world, indeed.

Wasn´t Aames in a Blue Lagoon copy titled "Paradise" along with Phoebe Cates? Or did I dream it?

TBH, the one I adored from "8 In Enough" was the absolutely perfect Grant Goodeve, who played Aames´ older brother. Later known as Chris Deegan, by the way...

This week's episode is in tribute of Kevin Dobson. They interview his wife of 50 + years.
We also get to meet one of his grandkids. It's a nice show and Michele shares a lot of photos that I have never seen before of her and Kevin from the set. :)
It's definitely worth a watch.
