I think not being able to get rights to the scenes to react to is valid, but a lot of the other podcast channels that discuss stories and/or episodes usually will watch the episode, take notes, and than discuss what was going on in the episode and what they remembered about filming the scenes plus what their thoughts are in 2026.
I remember the Melrose Podcast with three of the actresses on the show did a rewatch of the first season and they had interesting memories of the filming process, what their reactions were seeing it in modern day, and ended up becoming like fans of the show as the first season continued on. One did the recaps (Laura Leighton), one had the more sympathetic/warm perspective (CourtneyThorne Smith), and the other had the more feminist point of view (Daphne).. and it worked very well.
I was hoping the women would have done that for certain episodes (i.e. Three Sisters, Val getting her twins back, Joshua dying, Jill trying to kill Val, etc).. but alas.. not to be.
