They were all aware of JR's misbehaviour but when Sue Ellen was suspected of shooting him they let her rot in jail. Bastards.
Miss Ellie and Bobby were "your best friends" until they weren't.

In Falcon Crest, at least one could expect to be screwed over.
At least Miss Ellie did offer a half-hearted apology to SE once Kristin was exposed as the shooter. Too little, too late in my opinion.

JR and Sue Ellen seemed really miserable in the early seasons. Then again they had already been married for 7 years when the show started. How happy were Bobby and Pam after 7 years?

Right they got divorced around that time. So it's not like that couple was as much of a "golden couple" as the show wanted us to believe either. I think most of the characters and relationships on Dallas had some sort of dysfunctional dynamics to them.

Then as for Jock and Miss Ellie. I think Jock was definitely JR's father. But I think he was conceived before they got married. I think Jock only divorced Amanda and married Miss Ellie instead since he had to do right by her when she was expecting his child.

I felt sorry for Sue Ellen in those early seasons but I can’t say that I liked her very much. She wasn’t very likeable but I did believe in her. JR was pretty abusive if I remember - slapping her and forcing himself on her - I think . . . . but I can’t really remember for sure.

I didn’t like JR or feel sorry for him in the show but I do remember feeling sorry for him when he was a young boy - there was an episode when Miss Ellie mentions how nervous and sensitive he was as a child and so Jock basically was hard on him to try and make him into what he thought a man should be - so I would say Jock had a lot to answer for and Ellie should have been more protective of her boy.

Gayness alert! I didn't remember that JR might have been gay, that would explain so many things...
