Who Could've Written/Produced Dallas Comedy

If a Dallas comedy film or TV show had been attempted, who would you want behind it? I am watching Young Frankenstein. Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder could have been in it and wrote/directed. Mel is Jock and Gene is J.R. When Miss Ellie attempts to take down Jock's picture, J.R. goes, "Put... the portrait... back!!!" What are your thoughts and ideas?

Although they're both sadly passed away David Croft and Jimmy Perry who created and wrote the great Dad's Army would've been perfect to write a Dallas comedy feature film. :)

At one point it was mooted that the Carry On films were going to do a Carry On Dallas entry during the 1980's, unfortunately I believe it was dropped because Lorimar asked for fifty percent of the royalties and Gerald Thomas & Peter Rogers decided against it. What a shame. :(
