2-3 million is actually a hit show on The CW...

(Riverdale that airs before it went as high as 1.38 million viewers and all the way down to 870k viewers)

People are saying Riverdale is a good lead-in for Dynasty, but Riverdale has its head (and its story) together. Based on the trailer (though reviews say the pilot is better) Dynasty looks to just be a pile of silliness.

Faithfully? How about insulting. Fleeting glimpses of Ray, Lucy, Gary, Valene, Mandy and Cally. And as for furthering the legacy of the original series most on this site will argue it trampled on Lorimar Dallas. I'll be the first to admit the dying dies of Lorimar Dallas was abysmal compared to those first several seasons but TNT Dallas offered nothing to enrich Dallas.

Yes, and IMO, the same can be said of the latter seasons of original-recipe Jack Lord Five-O from 1977-1980, but as with
O-R Lorimar Dallas, as awful as those latter-season Jack Lord Five-O episodes were, the new O'Loughlin Five-0 show has been much, much worse (just like Dallas on TNT).

The unspoken reason why it's not a continuation may be that if it were, there would be considerable pressure to use the surviving actors. And, whilst they are still a fine-looking body of men and women, many of them don't really look like the cast of a modern-day primetime network show - which the CW will fear would affect ratings in its target demographic.

I think not doing it as a continuation is a huge missed opportunity, but I wouldn't have had a problem with recasts.

Not true. Many of them could easily have roles in two shows I can think of--THE WALKING DEAD and FEAR THE WALKING DEAD

And awful they were. That one should have ended with Season 10. Chin Ho could have been killed by Wo Fat and Steve McGarrett busts him for it instead of having the villain be Seinfeld's Poppi. Year 11 was borderline poor while Year 12 should've been flagged for illegal procedure.
