The block and delete function on my smartphone. Bored out of my mind when a thunderstorm rolled in out of the blue I shut everything down and disengaged the electrical plugs from the wall and tinkered with my smartphone. Tired of constantly being the guy keeping in contact with past friends and work colleagues I decided to block and delete.

I'm well and truly on the other side of 50 so my life span is shorter and I'm tired of being the guy keeping in contact...driving the friend relationship. So tough cheese people. Our friendship couldn't have mattered if you haven't reached out in 2 years...off with their heads.

People always laugh at me when I tell them I do that during a thunderstorm.

...off with their heads.

You could just as easily not contact them anymore therefore it comes across as a statement, perhaps with a vengeful undercurrent that you passive-aggressively hide behind "good judgment"?
