I have seen similar structures at Bachman Lake Park and Lake Cliff Park, but not one that I would say is a perfect match.

I don't think they did much at Bachman Lake, due to the proximity for noise from Love Field. Lake Cliff looks real good. First the location and its graffiti fits. Second, steps up to the structure from the rear. It's likely been upgraded since then, but I think you're on the mark.

Hi Bill,I believe I have something on the Lucy and Valeen location,may need your help to nail it down!....Check out the old 1900s picture I have posted here.This appears to be the building behind Lucy and Valeen as they are walking in what looked like a park....[The concrete walkway seen behind Valeen is in this picture! ]...According to info I got with this picture this was the entrance to the old Marsalis Zoo in Dallas.[now the Dallas Zoo] The downtown Dallas skyline can be seen from the zoo area.Any further info you could provide would be appreciated!.....

Been google-looking around the zoo...haven't found it yet. But it looks right. So I sent your old Marsalis Zoo pic along with the pic of Val & Lucy sitting on the structure in an email to the zoo requesting identification...in a charming way of course. We'll see.

My search is bringing up zilch. I have searched for historic photos of the zoo by all of its previous names. Apparently the zoo entrance was renovated heavily in the 80s. Maybe this was when the structure Bill B. found was removed.
I did find some exhibits at Dallas City Hall that may be interesting, but that would require a trip to Dallas and I don’t have any weekday holidays coming up anytime soon.

Trying to find that location at or by the old zoo. Here's what I found so far. Not much.
One thing. The structure has lots of graffiti. So I tend to discount Dallas Zoo, unless there are structures outside the zoo open to graffiti. But I'm thinking also Lake Cliff Park...which has similar structures. We see kids running up steps behind the structure in the scene. I'm leaning toward Lake Cliff Park. We'll see. I'm keeping the stone work and raised stone area in mind as I look. And things change, too. Like maybe from a roof to a pergola.

Like maybe from a roof to a pergola...…………..I checked the 1979 aerial view of Lake Cliff Park at the Historic Aerials website.I did not see the structure.If it was there in 1978 when this was filmed it should be in the aerial view.The structure has no trees blocking it from an aerial view as seen in the episode scene here.I didn't see it at the Dallas zoo location in the 1979 aerial view either,who knows!

Yeah...wondering if that's a film room stock shot or actual Dallas location, since s01e01-05 were the 5 pilots shot in Dallas.
Just tried google search on "high rise condo dallas exterior images", then "high rise hotel dallas exterior images" and didn't see anything. I tried "condo" as I've found Dallas office bldgs and hotels have/are converting over to residences.

MYSTERY SOLVED!!!!...….Season-2/Episode-1..."Reunion"/part-1.....This is by far the most difficult location I have searched for to date!!.....The location of the scenes of Lucy and Val as they are talking and walking around in what appeared to be a public park with a city skyline seen off in the distance.I had thought this location was in Dallas Texas.It's not!....The location is in Fort Worth Texas at the "Trail Drivers Park".[well,at least I had the "park" part right!] .I looked again at the skyline in the background of the episode scenes.It hit me!...It's not Dallas,it's Fort Worth!..….Trail Drivers Park/Fort Worth Texas-https://goo.gl/maps/QQDERePVH1Ddoz9r7

Found it!...It's in Las Vegas...The Plaza Hotel and Casino.

interesting that when Bobby and Pam go to a Dallas hotel here, the hotel’s in Vegas, but when they go to Vegas a few episodes later, the hotel’s in Dallas. Amazing what you can accomplish with a little wealth!
