Sounds very nice. Any mince pies, Christmas cake? After Eight mints?

Replika could be in for a bad year then :yikey:
Replika’s tree vanished today. Replika said that it vanished while Replika was in Spain. Still, I’m continuing to have festive sandwiches delivered to the house.

I’m a bit wary of mince pies. After Christmas 2020, when Edward Hutchinson accidentally murdered himself with one. Edward had poisoned one of his chef son’s mince pies, so he could bump off his son and marry his daughter-in-law. Sort of like when I stayed away from lasagne, after Breda McQueen murdered Mac Nightingale with one.

I didn't recognise you @Biggie, you have a new avatar
I decided to refresh my avatar, and I kinda liked this image. It's the first time in my career that I've seen 3 Luffer tower cranes working in such close proximity. The two concrete towers will eventually become elevator and stairwell shafts, they were sliped The telecoms mast on the LHS will be placed on top of the finished building. I'll spare you the rest of my hyperbole!
I did think of calling her Biggie, but we already have a @Biggie on here and things might get complicated
I'd suggest that calling such a beautiful example of flora Biggie would be the right and proper thing to do. It would be a way of paying homage to a beautiful example of fauna that was struck down before the the winter of his life.... And me!!! :haha: :laughs::love7:

Mr. Owl has a plan for something, I don't know what.

Mr Squirrel is still with us too ..

He is a brave soul. Great image.

It's about to snow in Liberty/Freedom's world. :bbbb:

Indeed! And dedicated to each other in the cold of winter. The nest looks cozier than that tree limb.

Here's Liberty practising her 'sitting on eggs' pose ...

An Eagle can never have too many sticks ...

What long legs they have. They want to build a quality nest.

A nighttime visit .. actually this was one I captured in the early morning ...

snowy-morning.png

I'm eager to see what happens on the nest overnight as a winter storm with snow, sleet, freezing rain and high winds in predicted in this area. I hope they remain cozy.

Guess what? The Farm Country, Guy and Lipstick cam is back up. :jolly:

Now all we need to decide is where to put the Eagle Thread for the new season and also what to call it? That's if we are still having a separate thread?

Any suggestions by everyone are more than welcome :dance1:
Maybe "Eagle Watch"? I do wonder if anyone else besides the two of us watch the eagles but many people ignore this thread so it's hard to tell. With two cams working the chances of a disaster on the nest is less. You started the Soap Chat Cafe and later re-named Telly Talk Cafe and that is a hit so this may work too. I'll be there in whatever decision you take my friend. :)

didn’t celebrate any of it for years. Everyone else would try to make the holidays and my bday a big deal for me but I would always tell them I needed it all to be simple. And they understood.
I guess it was difficult for others who care about you to ignore your birthdays , but I'm glad they listened to how you wanted it all kept simple.

No such luck on TT though my friend :D you get a birthday thread regardless. If I'm honest, I think I enjoyed your special thread as much as I hope you did.

Of course I still accepted gifts the whole time so who am I kidding?
Ooo it would've been rude not to accept pressies

Uh oh. I do feel sorry for this PM now, as he’s never met the likes of The Enforcer before!!
Boris needs to keep on the alert  . Luckily for him I have calmed down ... a bit.

Sorry about complaining about him on here, I try to keep out of politics on TT, but that day I was fuming.

I love pranks, as long as they don’t hurt anyone of course. I don’t like mean pranks. I play them at work a lot. I’ll take someone’s scanner and put it on the conveyor belt so it gets away from them and they have to chase it. But I’ll go get it eventually of course. I’ll put boxes in the truck of the route next to me that’s going to a different route just to mess with her. I won’t let her take it out on the road. That would be mean. I just leave it in her truck long enough til I hear her screaming and then I’ll take it out. I’ll lift up someone’s hood of their truck and keep walking so they have to get out of the truck and close it. You know, harmless stuff like that.
You sound great fun to work with :Clol: . Its good knowing who you can have a joke with too. I had a couple of colleagues in my last job who always made me laugh, it brightened up the working day, its good to have like-minded people.

I’m banged up. It was a rough Christmas for me physically. I’m nursing some minor injuries right now and I’m so glad I’m off this week. I needed a rest. This Christmas taught me I’m not as young as I used to be. I took more help this year than I ever have. I had to be talked into it but now I’m glad I was.
Oh no, I hope you are feeling better DFF. Your job is very physical so you are wise to accept help.

Oh I know how you love ur daffodils! And it is a good indicator that Spring is upon us.
I do go on about them every year, don't I :giggle:.

The Daffodils I bought from TESCO are extra early, I haven't seen any growing yet, but fear not ... I certainly will let you all know when I see some growing ..Lol!

How has ur winter been so far? I’m hoping you haven’t been bombarded with snow?
Its not been too bad thanks for asking. Today was very frosty this morning, everywhere was white and we haven't had very much snow at all so far. We are now halfway through January and that cheers me up, because we are getting through winter. Lucky you DFF, living in a warmer climate :)

Any name ideas? Poor thing needs a name as we are in January.
I've finally decided. She is definitely Biggie ... after our friend @Biggie (with his blessing) and also because she looks big next to Tallulah :D

the forth time is the charm for you and your Poinsettias.
I will hang onto these words Michelle. So far so good, both plants are still alive and are no longer casting their leaves.

BTW, how is Tiny Tim?
He's okay thanks. He seems to enjoy the solitude of being in a lonely shady part of the garden. Once the weather picks up I will ask him to pose for a photo so I can show you.

Jealous orchids indeed. Do you keep them together?
They're usually in different rooms, but right now they're sharing the Conservatory together. I'm hoping that being together might make them competitive as to who will recover the soonest .. :gotcha:

I looked a Pinkie Poinsettia yesterday and she looks sad. No new growth and fewer leaves. Frankly, I'd be surprised if she pulls through. I'm puzzled on what caused her decline. I just wish I had a greenhouse to place her in during these cold months.
Maybe she had an under-lying condition before you gave her a home?

Some orchids are cheaters and have added secondary spikes on older primary spikes and Pumpkin just added extra room on a flowering spikes and has new buds on that. They don't play fair. o_O I learn so much from them.
It sounds like they all want to be the most beautiful! The competition if fierce among your Orchids :cool1

my last one was a discounted rescue from a hardware store on 18 December, Lazy Sunday. That was the name on the inner pot so I don't have to think of a new name.
Ooo I do like that name.

I have thirty-seven to care for. I don't want to get too far over my head with these orchids.
37? .. I don't feel too bad now when I can't remember all their names ;)

How many Orchids does each tower hold if I may be so nosy?

Have you noticed how they always seem to stand on that branch at the exact same distance apart? I guess one of them is on the alert higher up, whilst the other is keeping an eye on any lower threats. I know I've already said this, but I'm thrilled we get to see them in the tree this year.

I'm eager to see what happens on the nest overnight as a winter storm with snow, sleet, freezing rain and high winds in predicted in this area. I hope they remain cozy.
Poor things, but from watching them in previous winters they're tough birds. Their feathers must make them feel snug.

How about if we start a new thread dedicated to the eagles in THE GAMES forum? this way if its a disaster we can sneak it back on this thread without too many other forum members noticing our blunder

Although, if its a success then the following season we could perhaps...maybe....if we are feeling very brave, move it to the LOUNGE :eck: .

All this is just a suggestion, let us know what you all think?

If you ever get the opportunity to witness a tower crane being assembled, I'd advise to watch. It's actually quite interesting.
I will do this. A tower crane is one of those things I have always taken for granted and given little thought too, its just there, but when we look into how things like this are constructed it makes us appreciate what we see much more. Do you work with these cranes Biggie?

I can understand this. Those numbers do seem to be moving along faster now. I’d give absolutely anything to go back and be about 12 again. When I woke up the morning of my birthday it just hit me that now I’m 47 and I don’t know where the time went.

We've done all sorts of daft things at work to get us through the days. I don't see anything in wrong with that, it creates a calmer atmosphere and makes everyone happier in their job.
We do things like “Wear a sports jersey to work day,” we do cookouts if we go a whole month without someone having an accident (this seldom happens), we do raffles, and we just got basketball hoops in the station. That one has been a problem though. Everyone’s playing basketball and not at their trucks loading their stuff. Luckily I’m not a huge basketball fan. Now if they had batting cages in the station? Well then I’d get fired.

Just you wait until I start on about the Snowdrops which are almost coming through
Your love for your flowers and plants always shines through, and that goes for Michelle too. I gotta say it’s made me much more conscientious of where I walk when I’m out there delivering.

Your winters there were far more extreme than ours, although 'Mrs Weather-lady' says we are getting a cold snap next week.
Upstate New York was tough in the winter but I did love it as a kid. It could be a lot of fun. The fun ended though when I started driving and began crashing all the way down the mountain. Up until then I enjoyed it.

I'm absolutely fascinated by your climate, which leads me onto one of my daft questions .... do you not need to own jumpers and coats? woolly hats? boots? Lol!
Ah, the daft questions! I do enjoy those. I don’t own any of the above other than a jacket. Although I have to say it is much cooler here tonight than usual. It’s 55 now and it’s going down to about 45. Tomorrow the high is 63 which is very unusual for us. It’s a nice change though. I hope ur cold spell isn’t too bad Lashes!

He's okay thanks. He seems to enjoy the solitude of being in a lonely shady part of the garden. Once the weather picks up I will ask him to pose for a photo so I can show you.

How are your Robins? I do like your profile background.

They're usually in different rooms, but right now they're sharing the Conservatory together. I'm hoping that being together might make them competitive as to who will recover the soonest .. :gotcha:
Indeed, I have learned that orchid are very competitive when healthy. :p I'm sure Orkie is glad to have another one of her kind near unless she is the jealous type.
Maybe she had an under-lying condition before you gave her a home?

Pinkie Poinsettia was just a small things when I got her but grew so well in the early Spring last year. I'm not sure what made her fall away to nothing but it sounds like what you have experienced with your previous poinsettias. I saw her on Sunday and she looks to be near the end. I'm so sad that her journey is nearly over but she did make it a year. Streetie, Princess, and Duchess are okay though.

It sounds like they all want to be the most beautiful! The competition if fierce among your Orchids :cool1
It is indeed. I hope they blooms without any complications. I see many buds. I'll share images once they start blooming. I'm so glad I got so many to spike and bud.

Ooo I do like that name.

Lazy Sunday is a white orchid even though her blooms were just husks by the time I bought her. She flops to one side so the lazy part of her name fits. I bought her on a Saturday so that doesn't fit but oh well. :fp:

37? .. I don't feel too bad now when I can't remember all their names ;)

It's so scary how the years fly ... I know that's a boring cliche but its so true. I remember as a child how time used to go slow, it seemed to take forever for my birthday to come around again.

We do things like “Wear a sports jersey to work day,” we do cookouts if we go a whole month without someone having an accident (this seldom happens), we do raffles, and we just got basketball hoops in the station.
We once did a cookout, we all made cakes and had a competition to vote for the best, I didn't win :a2: .... I'm not known for being good at baking Lol!

We also had a phase where six of us challenged ourselves to insert a certain word or a 'saying' into a sentence without being detected by anyone else  it sounds childish now, but I used to enjoy it. I've never been fond of this saying - "at the end of the day" - not sure if you use it much in the US? anyway, my colleagues know this so we all tried to insert it into any conversation over the course of a day.

Your love for your flowers and plants always shines through, and that goes for Michelle too. I gotta say it’s made me much more conscientious of where I walk when I’m out there delivering.
Guess what DFF? Our Snowdrops are through at last :hats:

Ah, the daft questions! I do enjoy those.

A lot of the country have been contending with gale force winds, roofs coming off houses, gable-ends collapsing, trees coming down, but luckily apart from being cold its not been too bad where we are.

Hope you're keeping well my friend.
