I agree.

My top ten has not changed very much over the years. Come to think of it, my favourites-list has always been a top 9, so I've added one of the more recent titles to my list.

1. Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs
It's always been my favourite fairy tale (even before I was aware of the Disney version) and the stunning visual style reminds me of the silent movies (not that I've seen many).

The dwars are actually funny sometimes, at least funnier than in other Snow White movies, and the old witch is undoubtedly the scariest Disney villain I've ever seen.

2. Cinderella
I always struggle with the # 2 and 3, but I've opted for the domestic and psychological abuse of the Cinderella story.
And I find Cinderella far more interesting as a heroine than Aurora. True, Maleficent is magnifent in all her evil glory, but Lady Tremaine is pure menace and there's more interaction between the heroine and the villains.
The "metallic" colours used for this movie (typical of that era, I presume) is an extra bonus. (or is a bonus always "extra"?) and the mice are simply adorable (except "Gus", but not because he was fat).

3. Sleeping Beauty

4. One Hundred And One Dalmatians
I thought it was "101 Dalmatians", but according to this old movie poster it was indeed One Hundred And One, and besides I don't want to confuse Karen when she's going to compile the final top ten.


5. The Rescuers
Ah well, Medusa and her crocodiles, and of course that atmospheric location.


6. Alice In Wonderland
I have the impression that this is one of those love-it-or-hate-it movies, but since I've always been fascinated by this Wonderland I'm also including the Disney version.

7. The Little Mermaid
One of Disney's most romantic movies, I think.
And how clever to use the octopus for the sea-witch character. Had not seen that in other Mermaid stories.

8. Pinocchio
Beautiful, charming and sometimes downright nightmarish. A perfect movie for the holidays.

9. Aladdin
Why do I always want to write it as Alladin?
A bigger obstacle, however, was the painfully annoying Genie, with his contemporary tricks and breaking the fourth wall humour.
But I liked all the magic carpet stuff, and Jafar is a memorable villain - especially when he pulled a Maleficent by turning himself into a giant snake.

10. Tangled
The extremely long hair which came in very handy during the various action scenes was a little bit too "Incredibles" for my taste, but still I think it was very creative to make a movie from such a short fairy tale.

Not a fan of the animals-only movies, but The Lion King was OK.

I love Cool Runnings and was searching for an animated version when I saw it listed. I'm also a big fan of Mary Poppins and Enchanted, so if they are allowed I will be listing them.

This is the one point where I have a different opinion to you. Cinderella would probably have been a Top 5 film for me if so much screen time hadn't been taken up by the singing mice in their natty little clothes.

Yes. I was so in love with this film. All those warm primary colours and atmosphere. Jafar and the fantastic carpet. Then Robin Williams came on the scene and pooped all over it. Now I just can't feel good about rewatching it.

I had a very similar experience with Mulan. It's a very close thing between The Genie and Mushu for the most annoying Disney character of all time.

The Lion King was OK.

I rewatched it a year or so ago for the first time in about a decade and a half. And I wasn't expecting to be as completely wowed by it as I was.

I think there are enough hand-drawn animated movies to choose from, although I'm not sure what category "Tangled" is (and "Frozen" too, I guess).
If I have to replace it with another title then I'd choose Robin Hood or The Sword In The Stone.

Computer animated movies like Frozen is ok for this round as well.

When I think Disney, I always go to the animated classics.

I'm not sure what category "Tangled" is (and "Frozen" too, I guess).

CGI seems to be the way they've gone now. I miss the hand-drawn look.

As a child I loved to watch the Disney pictures on my view-master.
Out of curiosity I Bing'd some images and I discovered many 3D images. But I don't remember them as being 3D, I thought they were the actual stills from the movies.

It looks fantastic, kind of how it should look in the Disney parks. Nevertheless, it's not from the original source.

Not to mention the many books with alternative Disney artwork, and the comic versions that were printed in the Donald Duck as a serial (!)
I liked some of those 60s vintage books, or perhaps I was just willing to settle for less.

I mentioned in my previous post that Cinderella and her stepmother had more scenes together than Aurora and Maleficent, but there were significant scenes between Maleficent and Prince Philip. I wonder, was he the main character of the story? Aurora was always kinda dreamy, even before she fell asleep. And Philip was in the story from the very beginning.
