Bear in mind though that at the time it aired, ABC did not have the same audience parity that CBS and NBC had. There were still by the late 60s some areas that were without an ABC affiliate, and shows on the channel that were big hits, such as Bewitched, Peyton Place, and Marcus Welby had to have very little timeslot competition with any other program (Marcus Welby made it to #1 in the ratings due to being aired opposite two news series)THAT GIRL was a mid-range performer throughout its entire five-year-run. It never ranked in the Top 30 in the seasonal Nielsen ratings. Its first season placed #57, the third season #44, the fourth season #48, while the ratings for the second and four seasons aren't readily available.

Mostly agree. The show was a like an earlier version of The Mary Tyler Moore Show", inasmuch that it was about a single woman moving to the big city to start a career,THAT GIRL is currently streaming on Peacock, but I couldn't be sure if they have the original prints or the syndicated cuts of the episodes. I'd say they're the original versions, but I couldn't be sure.
I've skimmed through several episodes early in the first season, and I've enjoyed them so far. I won't try to convince anybody that the writing is anything special, but I've found Marlo Thomas and Ted Bessell to be a good on-screen pairing. They look good together physically, and they play together well with the material they're given.
This is the first time I've watched THAT GIRL in a few years. I doubt I'll ever watch all the episodes or do anything close to a binge of the show, but it's been enjoyable thus far.
They're on Tubi and Youtube for free too (for non-US viewers as well as US). I bought the DVD box set too, I like physical media.THAT GIRL is currently streaming on Peacock, but I couldn't be sure if they have the original prints or the syndicated cuts of the episodes. For some reason I can't get into MTM but That Girl I enjoy. I might need to watch more MTM or skip to a later season to see if it gets me. It's almost too real, I like the fluffiness of That Girl.Mostly agree. The show was a like an earlier version of The Mary Tyler Moore Show", inasmuch that it was about a single woman moving to the big city to start a career,
although Mary Richards was clearly more successful
I think you would enjoy MTM one Betty White and Georgia Engel show up. Not to slight Valerie Harper (Rhoda) or Cloris Leachman (Phyllis) at all because they were both fantastic. The show kind of allows itself to laugh a bit more in the last seasons. It's almost too real, I like the fluffiness of That Girl.
