THAT GIRL was a mid-range performer throughout its entire five-year-run. It never ranked in the Top 30 in the seasonal Nielsen ratings. Its first season placed #57, the third season #44, the fourth season #48, while the ratings for the second and four seasons aren't readily available.

Bear in mind though that at the time it aired, ABC did not have the same audience parity that CBS and NBC had. There were still by the late 60s some areas that were without an ABC affiliate, and shows on the channel that were big hits, such as Bewitched, Peyton Place, and Marcus Welby had to have very little timeslot competition with any other program (Marcus Welby made it to #1 in the ratings due to being aired opposite two news series)

I've been watching The Joey Bishop Show on Tubi. I know I saw it years ago but didn't remember anything about.
Abby Dalton joins the series at some point but in this first season, Marlo Thomas is a regular as Joey's sister Stella (the show was a spin-off from her dad's eponymous sitcom).
Stella is an aspiring actress, so it's like watching an embryonic Ann Marie.

THAT GIRL is currently streaming on Peacock, but I couldn't be sure if they have the original prints or the syndicated cuts of the episodes. I'd say they're the original versions, but I couldn't be sure.

I've skimmed through several episodes early in the first season, and I've enjoyed them so far. I won't try to convince anybody that the writing is anything special, but I've found Marlo Thomas and Ted Bessell to be a good on-screen pairing. They look good together physically, and they play together well with the material they're given.

This is the first time I've watched THAT GIRL in a few years. I doubt I'll ever watch all the episodes or do anything close to a binge of the show, but it's been enjoyable thus far.

Her 'tragically square' boyfriend was a saint to put up with her delulu dreams of stardom... and doubt she was paying for that apartment with her own money.

Mostly agree. The show was a like an earlier version of The Mary Tyler Moore Show", inasmuch that it was about a single woman moving to the big city to start a career,
although Mary Richards was clearly more successful

They're on Tubi and Youtube for free too (for non-US viewers as well as US). I bought the DVD box set too, I like physical media.
I enjoy the show. I can't watch too many episodes in a row like I can with I Dream of Jeannie, but I enjoy the New York portrayed in the show, the outfits, and the characters.

For some reason I can't get into MTM but That Girl I enjoy. I might need to watch more MTM or skip to a later season to see if it gets me. It's almost too real, I like the fluffiness of That Girl.

MARY TYLER MOORE can be a little tight, like it knows it's innovative and trend-setting a new era of TV. Still, I enjoy it, but I'd agree that the later seasons are more relaxed and breezy.
