Okay so your favorite Martin Scorsese movie is:

New York, New York (1977)
This is an american musical drama film from early on in Scorsese's career. It stars Liza Minnelli and Robert De Niro. They portrays a singer and a saxophonist who fall madly in love and get married. But it is not easy to balance their careers with married life so pretty soon they run into trouble. The movie is set in the 1940s and includes several jazz numbers. Originally the movie got a lukewarm reception at the box office and barely recouped it's budget. But today it's considered a classical musical movie.

I´m happy this one won, Karin. I have watched it a few times, and recently I could also see the dvd extras that give a comprehensive view of the behind-the-scenes of the movie, and helped me to understand the visual style of it (which, being a musicals fan and the obvious casting of Liza, I should have guessed) and love it still more. Of course, this movie must be watched with the final number intact (20 minutes?)...And thanks Karin for choosing the Spanish poster of NY NY!!

You're welcome Toni. :) Maybe it's because most people who posts here are soap opera fans that the musical drama movie won?

Anyway it's time for another round...and this time I thought we'd list movies by this star:

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV is an American Actor and Producer. He was born on 3rd July, 1962 in Syracuse, New York. He has three sisters and they are of English, German and Irish decent. Cruise grew up in a Catholic home and considered becoming a priest before he decided to become an actor. Cruise started his acting career at age 19 when he landed his first movie role in Endless Love (1981). His first big success was in Top Gun (1986). Cruise became one of the most successful movie stars in Hollywood during the 1980s and his career has gone from strength to strength since then. During his ten year marriage with Nicole Kidman the two of them collaborated on some movies in the 1990s.

Despite being considered one of the leading men of Hollywood for three decades now Tom Cruise has never won the Oscar but he’s won three golden globes for movies such as: Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Jerry Maguire (1996) and Magnolia (1999). But which one of his movies is your favorite?
