That's true, but if the scene had played out like Holly expected it to and Sue Ellen went into a mad rage and ordered JR not to see Holly again and have no more business dealings with her, it might've worked for her.
She obviously didn't know Sue Ellen and well.......we all know JR .

Women not valued on Dallas....now that's another story.

Got this from Dallas fanzine, Ray & Sue Ellen 45 years apart. Havn't seen the old one before.

Just some random thoughts.

During the years that Jock was in the military who ran the oil business.

Speculation.

Digger sobered up,ran the company successfully, and thought that he would be partners with Jock. When Jock returned, Digger was out.
Maybe that is how Jock took Ewing Oil away from Digger - again.

Yes, Digger was self-destructive. However, despite the cleansing of Jock's reputation in later years on the show,
Jock could be ruthless. Who did JR learn from? JR was ultimately the product of both parents, no matter how upright they claim to be.

Additionally, Gary - could Digger be his father?

I know, how weird was that?! Poor Gary wasn't told by the family and didn't seem too upset that no one had bothered to contact him.......sad.
He was more concerned why Katherine was back in Dallas.

I've just watched the dream season again after watching it quite recently and I still have very mixed feelings about it.

Just can't get my head around the storylines, I know it's all been said before but that emerald story was so dire and Victoria Principal looked poorly (think she had back problems)
And the Angelica story, she was great, but dear oh dear!

There were a couple of good stories bubbling under the surface and some great performances from our favourite stars, but is it only me or can you tell Larry Hagman was bored/unhappy without his playmate PD? Maybe it's because he admitted he was so we know, but I just think it shows massively.
Some of the acting leaves a lot to be desired. I think it could've survived without PD, but something was so wrong already; writing, plots and acting all played their miserable part.
PD must've gone back with such a big ego.

As I recall, Miss Ellie calls Gary's ranch in California. Gary is not home at the time and Abby takes the call. Of course, we do not see or hear Miss Ellie but we can tell from Abby's dialogue who she is talking to.

"Oh yeah, sounds quite slutty to me, Ellie!"

Who would know that Mr Clifford Barnes could look so cute, looking dishevelled but dishy? Could never see it before.20230704_143330.jpg

From season 5 episode "My father, my son". He slept on Sue Ellen's couch after a night out with her. JR thought more had gone on as he was having her house watched and became insanely jealous "out of his cotton pickin gord" as Afton told him.

If JR and Bobby had just called him Jock, everything would've been fine.

It must've really upset Jock that hardly any of his family believed who he really was. He had to walk away from his own family because of the hostility and mistrust coming from them. :(

JR and Bobby needed to call him Daddy or Sir if your theory is right.
You managed to convert me, now you need to work on the extended family.

It was rather head spinning wasn't it? Really good though! Just finished watching that season.

She would've stayed with Dusty, but after JR'S cruel put down, he became distant and pushed her away.

JR couldn't stand seeing her with anyone else and became a lovesick school boy still holding a torch for his ex (and wanting John Ross' shares).

Cliff worked well for a bit (loved seeing that relationship revisited) until he asked her to borrow money.

Then there's Clayton..... why couldn't he just tell her how he felt? He ran away after JR confronted him then appeared again and wanted to propose.
I think all the men's behaviour made my head spin, as well as Afton and even Miss Ellie interfering. No wonder poor Sue Ellen was so indecisive.

Miss Ellie really set women back. She would always imply that a woman couldn't make it on their own. And on top of that, she knew how JR was. Why would she in a roundabout way tell Sue Ellie to go back?
