Sue Ellen was always "really something else" LOL!
How was she meant to know how Clayton felt? She didn't dare want to see it and shatter her vision of him as her one true friend and father figure.
She did ask him once if it was true and he denied it. She was so relieved.

Yes she played JR and Cliff and why not? She wanted Cliff during their first affair and he dumped her after being frightened off by JR. She knew JR was insanely jealous of her with Cliff and revelled in it. All pay back I say.

Dusty treated her badly by unexpectedly bringing a bride back to the Southern Cross and then learning he was able to perform in bed with his bride. It took so long for her to get over her break up with Dusty, it would've been hard to deal with at any time. She was used to being cheated on and Dusty was uncharacteristically smug.

Clayton told her that JR (something he found out from Afton) that JR told him that he had feelings for her. Sue Ellen asked, "do you? " He pretty much admitted to it. Plus, Clayton was a fixture at her apartment. Being a father figure is one thing, but every time she opened the door Clayton was there. Most women can tell if a man's interested and Clayton obviously was. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a very bad look for Clayton to have eyes for his son's ex.

She only wanted Cliff to get back at JR. Of all the men in Dallas, she has eyes only for the man JR despises? They used each other.

How was Dusty smug? And since when does he have an obligation to inform Sue Ellen that he's coming to HIS home, that he's married? Then she even has the nerve to tell Dusty's new bride that "it would have never worked." Of course not. She was always destined to go back to old cheating JR.

They did share a long lingering look at each other before he took off and it looked as though they were about to kiss maybe? A good bit of would they, wouldnt they? direction.

Most women can tell?? An awful lot can't and let's not forget "Sue Ellen lives in a fantasy world where everything is perfect". She would never want to face the possibility that Clayton felt that way, he should've manned up and told her properly.

Clayton was horrible in that scene; "not then and not now" but their relationship caused problems later when Clayton had to admit to Miss Ellie that it was Sue Ellen he had previously had feelings for. Clayton sure got over her quickly, bearing in mind he was prepared to propose to Sue Ellen after his trip, not even knowing if his affection for her would be reciprocated.

JR didn't guess how Clayton felt (he made fun of him that time when he put Dusty down) Afton told him and he used that to embarrass Clayton, forcing him to take the trip away.

No, she wouldn't have been happy with Cliff, but their affair was exciting and seemed even more naughty because Cliff was JR's biggest enemy and JR was so jealous.
Many wanted her to find happiness with Dusty, maybe it could've worked, but of course it would've lacked that electricity that she had with JR.

Was it only Digger who called Miss Ellie just Ellie? Did Rebecca only refer to her as Ellie too?

Wait a minute. How can Pam dream about JR's memory of actual events.

I don't believe The Early Years were apart of Pam's dream.

Since Dallas: The Early Years was broadcast during the Dream Season we can assume that is an interpretation of Pamela. Only in this way can we explain the many chronological and factual inconsistencies compared to the main series. I like it a lot, but all those conflicting facts and situations make me nervous !

I think if we had asked David Jacobs, he would have disavowed any connection to the dream. JR's introduction itself casts doubt on its accuracy.

At this point we have to decide whether the real past is the one shown in the Dallas: Early Years or in the main series.

I prefer the TV movie version by Jacobs, but it clashes with dozens of facts and dates from the regular series.
All this is well known at least by the experts...

Watching the last seasons for the first time in a long time. It's so obvious that they were trying to recreate Sue Ellen and Kristen with April and Michelle.

I never really thought about this. I guess I can definitely see it now, with the difference being Michelle was a much better shot than either Sue Ellen or Kristen of course. I don’t remember April ever firing a gun so I can’t comment on her shooting skills.

Which kind of brings me to my own random thought. How can two sisters both shoot the same man eight years apart and somehow he survives both attempts? I wonder what the odds of this actually happening would be? Too bad neither one of them knew Michelle at the time. They could’ve contracted her the job.

I never thought about that. A lot of soaps had weird sister dynamics: Alexis and Caress, Maggie and Terry, Sable and Frankie. April and Michelle were more like Maggie (April) and Terry (Michelle), they had difficulties but they didn't hate each other all the time.

Yes plenty of weird sister dynamics!
I thought Sue Ellen and Kristin's relationship was done well. If it's played OTT it can resemble a bad comedy duo.

Kristin put her desire for power, wealth and her selfishness above any liking for her sister.
Sue Ellen tried at times to form a more sisterly bond with Kristin and was desperately betrayed by her sister and her husband.


I've often thought Sue Ellen would have been more distraught over her sister's death and how she died, but thinking about it, perhaps not.
Deaths on Dallas were never handled particularly sensitively and no one ever felt a lingering grief apart from when Jock died among a few others.

I can't comment on April and Michelle's relationship as I don't remember it.

"At first I felt the same way about Ray that you feel about James. But in time, I was the first one to welcome him into the family. In time, we became as close as me and Bobby." Lol

That’s actually one of my favorite scenes of the later years. It’s such a great moment for the long time fans that knew what J.R. was referring to.

Everyone listening to that except for John Ross knows exactly how untrue it is yet you can’t help but laugh at it as it’s delivered with such a straight face.

And you know the beauty of that scene?

Well, not only did he lie to John Ross's face but he actually sounded believeable which was one of the characters strengths.

JR was a scoundrel, of that I have no doubt. However scoundrels usually get what they want, I just wish Leonard Katzman as the Executive Producer hadn't weakened JR's character so much. JR needed to come out on top more, not get beaten like he did in the last four years of the show. Shame on you Lenny Katzman!

Interesting. I'm watching the last seasons and they were very much aware that JR wasn't the same JR. There was a scene where Bobby even tells JR, "there was a time when you'd get out of this with no problem." Lol

Why would the man from the jail tell Bobby that Mr Scotsfield was dead when Mrs Scotsfield is standing right there?
