Thank you everyone for the feedback. It's always appreciated. :)

@CeeCee72 good observation. They are repeating some of the same patterns.

Okay so in tonight's update it's back to Switzerland and catching up a little with Ray, Donna and Margaret.

*

In Switzerland had the wedding guests started to arrive at the Chateau de Chillon where the wedding reception was going to be held. The castle looked like something out of a fairytale where it was located on a little island made of limestone rocks right next to the shore of Lake Geneva. The castle was also located right at the foot of the Alps with a marvelous view over the lake. Lucas and Emma were standing out on the courtyard welcoming their guests, as they arrived at the reception. Jenna was also out there helping the couple collecting their wedding gifts that people brought them. Ray was also nearby, mingling with people. After shaking the hands of 40 people who were all strangers to him, Ray was happy to finally see a familiar face.

“Donna!” He smiled at his former wife, as Donna Culver Krebbs Dowling arrived at the castle together with their daughter Margaret.

“Hi Ray,” Donna smiled at him, as he leant forward and gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. “It’s good to see you.”

“You too,” Ray said. “I was sorry to hear about Andrew’s surgery.”

“Thank you,” Donna made a face. “He’s doing better though. But he’s still not well enough to travel.”

“Well at least he’s on the mend,” Ray said.

“Yeah fingers crossed that he’ll be able to lick this,” Donna said, crossing her fingers. “I feel a little guilty for leaving him behind though.”

“Tell me about it!” Margaret rolled her eyes before turning to her dad, “I really had to persuade her into coming here,” Margaret then turned to her mother, “Aren’t you glad that I managed to talk you into coming mom?”

“Sure am,” Donna smiled. “The change of scenery has done me some good. It sure is pretty here.”

“It is,” Ray agreed, “Now you might see why we settled here.”

“I totally can. It’s a lot prettier than Washington,” Donna said, “Also this castle is just magnificent. It always amazes me how old the buildings are in Europe.”

“Yeah I googled this place and apparently this castle is from the 10th century,” Margaret informed her parents.

“Trust Margaret to know that,” Ray chuckled.

“What’s wrong with wanting to know a little about the places I visit?”

“Nothing sweetheart, I was just teasing you,” Ray said. “You know that we’re lucky to have you as our daughter.”

“Thanks daddy,” Margaret smiled.

“It’s true,” Donna nodded before turning to her daughter, “you’ve turned out even better than I could have hoped for and I’m so proud of you.”

“And now you’re just embarrassing me,” Margaret said as she wasn’t that great at taking a compliment.

Her parents laughed at that before Donna added, “Sorry I didn’t mean to.”

“I know mom,” Margaret said.

“Anyway we’d better go say hello to the rest of the family,” Donna said.

“You do that and I’ll see you around,” Ray said. “Enjoy the party.”

“Thanks I’m sure we will,” Donna said before she and Margaret walked off. Looking after them Ray sighed heavily. Sure he and Donna had always tried to be on good terms since their divorce. After all they did share a child and wanted what was best for Margaret. But it was still a little awkward to see each other in person like this as the occasions were few and far in between. In fact chances were that after tonight he wouldn’t see Donna again until the day when Margaret got married.

Jenna had sensed a nervous tension lingering in the air all day. At first she had written it off as being wedding jitters. Her son was getting married and she wanted the day to be perfect. So she’d been nervous about something going wrong. But now the wedding ceremony was over and it had been perfect. But the tension had not disappeared with it and it was now giving her a headache. She wanted to be happy. Her son had gotten married and it was reason to celebrate. But there was some melancholy feeling inside of her that she just couldn’t shake and she wasn’t able to put her finger on what had caused it. That was until the moment that he appeared that she got it.

“Jenna,” Bobby said her name and that’s when she knew what made her feel this way. All the pieces of the puzzle suddenly fell into place and Jenna felt like cursing her stupid heart for still caring about him after all this time.

“Hi Bobby,” she managed to get out, but the sadness was visible in her beautiful blue eyes.

“We brought these,” Bobby handed Jenna a bag full with gifts. “It’s from me and Ann.”

“Thanks,” Jenna smiled strained.

“It was a beautiful ceremony,” Bobby said. “I hope Emma and Lucas will be very happy together.”

“Please don’t,” Jenna said, as she held up a hand in front of her.

“What’s the matter Jenna?” Bobby asked. “Are you feeling alright?”

“No and I’m sorry but I can’t do this,” Jenna said, before she turned around to leave. “I thought I could but I just can’t.”

“Can’t do what?” Bobby asked, as he followed Jenna. He didn’t get why she was acting this weird but he wanted to find out what was the matter with her.

“Nothing,” Jenna said, before she hurried on her steps. She put the gift bag next to the gift table and then she continued walking indoors. Her eyes were tearing up and she didn’t want to cause a scene in the middle of all the guests. She wanted a moment to herself where she could gather herself and regain some sort of dignity.

But unfortunately for her Bobby just wouldn’t take a hint. So he followed her into the castle and all the way to a back corridor next to the kitchen. There he caught up with her before she’d managed to hide in the bathroom. “Jenna please, why don’t you tell me what’s wrong?” He asked and seeing the worry in his hazel brown eyes felt like torture to Jenna.

“How can you even ask me what’s wrong?” Jenna asked in an upset voice, as the tears spilled over on her cheek. “You come here to our son’s wedding and act like it’s the most natural thing in the world, even though you gave up all your rights to Lucas 26 years ago. In all those years you’ve never showed any interest in your son. You’ve never called, or even sent a birthday card or...”

“I know but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t care,” Bobby said. “There hasn’t been a birthday or Christmas going by when I haven’t thought of Lucas.”

“And yet you never even sent him a gift. Couldn’t you at least have sent him a lousy gift from his uncle?” Jenna asked upset. “No you just gave up on him. He’s your own flesh and blood. The only natural child you’ll ever have and yet you chose Christopher over him.”

“I know,” Bobby sighed, as his eyes went teary too. “I gave up my rights to Lucas because I thought it was the best thing for everyone.”

“Not for me,” Jenna said.

“Then why did you ask me to let Ray adopt him?”

“I never asked you. Ray asked you!” Jenna finally unburdened herself. “I never wanted him to adopt Lucas. I wanted you to be a part of his life. But you just walked away...”

“Oh,” Bobby grimaced, as the truth finally dawned on him.

“Now there you have it. That’s why I’m not feeling well today. Because I can’t stand having you here, pretending to care about our son when you never have when he was growing up!”

“I’m sorry Jenna,” Bobby said, as a tear ran down his cheek. Giving up Lucas had hurt him. But he had thought he’d done the right thing. Never before had he realized just how much it had hurt Jenna that he’d rejected their son.

“Well sorry just won’t cut it this time,” Jenna said. “Now leave me alone. I need to go freshen up so I can take care of the guests,” Jenna said and with those words she turned around and left Bobby standing all alone in the hallway. His heart was aching for the son he’d given up and he felt guilty for hurting Jenna so badly. They were both so absorbed with their own emotions that neither one of them noticed the woman, who had come out from the kitchen and overheard the end of their conversation. They were both hurting too much to realize that the truth had also hurt someone else. Yes Ann Ewing finally knew the truth about why her husband had wanted to go to the wedding and it had nothing to do with her, or wanting to patch up their marriage. It was because he was Lucas natural father and that piece of news had rocked her entire world. Yet she was too shocked to confront her husband right now so she just quietly walked away from the whole thing. But her day was most definitely ruined.

Oh Ann is gonna learn a lot Ryland causing Pams accident, her daughter marrying the son of her husband, oh bobby just dump her and return to Pam. I just watched an episode where Ray asked Bob about how he felt about Marrying Jenna! Bobs reply, you never forget your first love, but whe he met Pam that all changed and he was the woman for her forever, dismissed Jenna and any forthcoming girlfriends

Thank you everyone for the feedback and ratings on my latest updates. I always enjoy reading all of your comments.:hat:

@superman fan I am glad you liked the Donna & Ray scene. I think they are pretty realistic ex's, in the sense that they will always be in each other's lives because of Margaret and they are friendly. But not really close anymore.

@Pammy P to be honest I think Ray & Jenna marrying on the show was a bit of a stretch since they didn't seem all that happy together. It was obvious to me that Jenna was still unluckily in love with Bobby when she married Ray. Yet I guess some good marriages can come out of a strong friendship so in this story I imagine that Jenna and Ray are still together.
But yeah it's pretty clear that Bobby's heart belongs with Pam. Even now after all these years.

@pd fan thank you. You will find out what will happen between Bobby and Ann a bit later. First however it's back to Dallas and Pam...

@Mrs Bobby James Ewing yeah poor Ann is getting a lot of nasty surprises on her daughter's wedding day. I feel bad for her too. Also as for Harris being behind Pam's accident. Ann might not react the way you think she will once she finds out...

Now let's move on to another update.

*

Pam was standing in her bedroom, packing a suitcase when Josephine came home from spending her day at Southfork. Seeing her daughter walk into the room she smiled, “Hi Sweetheart, did you have a good time at Southfork?”

“Yeah sure did. But what is this?” Josephine motioned at the suitcase. “Are you going on a trip?”

“No we’re going back home,” Pam said. “So if you’ll pack your things together we can leave on Cliff’s private jet tonight.”

Josephine stared at her mother like if she’d lost her mind. Then she shook her head, “No!”

“What do you mean no?” Pam asked. “Don’t you want to go home?”

“No I am home,” Josephine said. “Dallas is my home now mom. It’s your home too. So how can you leave?” Josephine asked. “I thought you wanted us to live here.”

“I did,” Pam said.

“Then why are you leaving?” Josephine asked.

“Because,” Pam bit her lip, but knowing the way Josephine felt about Bobby she couldn’t bring herself to tell her the truth. So she only told her half the truth, “it’s not safe for us here anymore.”

Josephine gave her a strange look, “What do you mean?”

Pam sighed heavily, “Someone tried to kill me.”

Josephine dropped her cheek when she heard that, “You can’t be serious!” She exclaimed shocked. “Why would anyone wanna kill you?”

“I don’t know,” Pam said, as a tear ran down her cheek. “Anyway I can’t stay here any longer. So I must go home. Are you coming with me?”

“Am I safe here?” Josephine asked. “Or will whoever come after you come after me too?”

“You are safe here,” Pam said and Josephine nodded sadly, as a decision was forming in her mind.

“Then I think I wanna stay here with my brothers,” Josephine said giving her mother a look, pleading with her to understand. The last thing she wanted was to hurt her mother but she was at the age where she really needed to live her own life. It was difficult for her since a part of Josephine didn’t want to leave her mother and the life they had lived in Abu Dhabi but at the same time she really didn’t want to leave her new family either so she added, “After all I am just getting to know them.”

“I understand,” Pam nodded sadly.

“Think Afton will let me stay here or should I find my own place?”

“I’m sure Afton won’t mind it if you stay here a little bit longer,” Pam managed a smile, since at least if Josephine stayed with Afton she knew that someone would look after her.

“Okay I think I’ll stay here for a bit then,” Josephine said.

“Good,” Pam nodded. “Then I know that you are safe. I will miss you like crazy though.”

“I will miss you too mom,” Josephine said. “I love you.”

“I love you too baby,” Pam said, before she gave her daughter a hug goodbye. The tears welled up in her eyes since she knew that her life in Abu Dhabi was going to be so lonely without her daughter. She almost regretted her decision to leave now. But the decision had been made so now she needed to stick by it. She also knew that the worst was still to come as she also had to tell her son that she was leaving and she had a bad feeling in her stomach that her son wouldn’t understand why she’d chosen to move to the other side of the world.

I want Pam to choose the fight option and not the flight. By fight I mean, realize that she has a life in Dallas without needing the dumbass Bobby...unless he makes a spectacular apology.

I mean it's realistic cause I'm sure she's exhausted from constantly fighting with JR, Cliff, for her life and to survive the burns, amnesia, etc. She definitely deserves a quiet life now but that would be with her children and grandchild; not without them.

Nice updates though Karin.

All caught up again ! Great updates. The scene between Ray and Donna was great. As for Bobby and Jenna...well, if she didn't want Ray to adopt Lucas, it looks like she would have talked to Ray about it!

Thank you everyone for the feedback on my latest updates. I am glad that you've found the story after the forum move. It will take some getting used to our new board. I already miss our old ratings system. :(

@Laurie! You make an excellent point in that Pam should live close to her children and grandchild. Yet I think a part of her is afraid to stay in Dallas after learning that the truck drove out in front of her on purpose. She thinks that someone wanted her dead, even though that is not true.

@CeeCee72 you make an excellent point too in that Jenna should have said no when Ray brought up the idea to adopt Lucas. But she said nothing. I guess she had hoped that Bobby would object but he never did.

Okay so in tonight's update it's back to the wedding party.

*

The wedding dinner was over and the bride and groom were now on the dance floor. Sue Ellen was sitting by herself, at a table, sipping on a club soda when Gary walked up to her and sat down at her table. “So here we are once again at a party where everyone’s drinking!”

Sue Ellen turned to look at her former brother in law, “Don’t tell me you’re longing for a drink?”

“Aren’t you?” He countered her question.

They went silent for a moment as they contemplated that. “You know it’s my one weakness. But I’ve licked it again.”

“What happened?”

“I hit rock bottom. Really badly,” Sue Ellen sighed. “It wasn’t until I thought I set Southfork on fire and was trying to drink some aftershave at the hospital that I realized it!”

He thought he knew where she was going with this but he still wanted to hear her say it. So he prodded, “Realized what?”

“What I am and always will be,” Sue Ellen said in a firm voice. “You were right Gary. I am an alcoholic and I needed to face that fact.”

“You were right too Sue Ellen,” Gary said.

“About what?”

“Me and Valene,” Gary said. “Thank you for giving me a kick in the butt when I needed one.”

“You’ve patched things up I see?”

“Yeah,” Gary nodded. “Things are better now.

“I’m glad,” Sue Ellen said, as she put her hand on Gary’s hand, giving it a little squeeze, just as Valene came walking up to them.

“Hands off my man Sue Ellen,” Valene said, as she put her hands on her hips.

“Hi Valene,” Sue Ellen said. “We were just talking.”

“Oh I can see that,” Valene said, pointing at Sue Ellen’s hand, until she withdraw it from Gary’s.

“Sue Ellen was just asking about you?” Gary said.

“I’m sure,” Valene said.

“No really,” Sue Ellen said. “I am glad you’ve patched things up. JR’s death made me realize just how valuable it is to spend time with the one you love before it’s too late.”

“But you divorced JR,” Valene reminded Sue Ellen.

“Yeah but I never stopped loving him,” Sue Ellen confessed.

“I pity you then,” Valene said, as she also sat down at the table, next to Gary.

“Thanks but I don’t need your pity,” Sue Ellen said. “JR was the love of my life, just like Gary is yours and that’s all there is to it!”

“I’m glad we’ve got that straightened out,” Valene said before she laughed at a memory. “You know what JR used to say when he dropped by for a visit in Knots Landing?”

“No what?” Sue Ellen asked.

“How’s my favorite sister in law?” Valene smiled and Sue Ellen laughed when she heard that.

“Sounds just like him,” Sue Ellen smiled. “You know I think he actually meant it!”

“Are you serious?” Valene asked. “I mean JR stole Lucy from me.”

“I know that,” Sue Ellen said. “But considering that his other sister in law was Pamela Barnes...”

“Yep face it honey, you were his favorite,” Gary said and Valene pondered that for a moment.

“You know it’s weird, I really hated the man when he was alive. But now when he’s gone...” Valene sighed. “I sort of miss him.”

“I know what you mean. Despite everything he was my brother,” Gary said when Lucy came walking up to them.

“Hi what are you talking about?” She asked as she sat down next to Sue Ellen.

They exchanged a look before they said in unison, “JR!”

Lucy smiled when she heard that, “Oh that reminds me. Guess what I found the other day?”

“No what?” Valene asked.

“The home video from JR and Cally’s wedding,” Lucy laughed. “Oh boy let me tell you that was one marriage that was doomed from the start. One look at that videotape and you can see that JR was completely bored,” Lucy turned to Sue Ellen, “He was more interested in trading insults with you than in his bride.”

“Oh yeah I remember that,” Sue Ellen sighed. “If I hadn’t given Cally some advice she wouldn’t even have gotten him to the altar. Still I hadn’t counted on how painful it was going to be to see him get married to someone else.”

“I get what you’re talking about,” Gary sighed before turning to his wife. “I didn’t stay for the ceremony but do you remember that day when you were marrying Ben and I came to see you before the ceremony?”

“Yeah," Valene nodded. "I thought my heart was going to break in two when you wished me more happiness than I’ve ever had in my life,” Valene said emotionally.

“Well it wasn’t easy to say that,” Gary sighed. “But I figured that since I was married to Abby, I’d rather have you marrying Ben than some jerk. At least he was a good guy. Unlike Danny.”

“Don’t even mention Danny,” Valene grimaced.

Sue Ellen looked questioningly at them, “Who’s Danny?”

“My mom’s third husband,” Lucy explained.

“Oh I didn’t realize you’ve been married so many times Valene,” Sue Ellen said. “You’ve got me beat I’ve only had two husbands.”

“Well what can I say?” Valene shrugged her shoulders and smiled sheepishly, “When I am in love I want to be married. I guess I’m just the marrying kind.”

The women exchanged a smile before Sue Ellen changed the topic. “I didn’t think that Emma was the marrying kind."

“What makes you say that?” Lucy asked curiously.

“She had an affair with John Ross last year,” Sue Ellen confided in them.

“Well maybe she’s grown up since then,” Lucy reasoned.

“I hope so. Because Lucas deserves to be happy,” Sue Ellen said and the others nodded in agreement, since like all the guests at the wedding they couldn’t help but wishing the newly wedded couple the best of luck and hope it worked out.

Bobby was still upset after his conversation with Jenna. So when he saw Harris Ryland making his round, talking to the guests at the reception, he knew just who to take out his anger at. He hated the man for the role he’d played in Pam’s accident. It was not the right time or the occasion but he still walked up to him, with every intention of making him answer for what he’d done. “Ryland!”

“Hi Ewing,” Harris replied. “Come to congratulate me on my daughter’s wedding?”

“Not exactly. Can we have a word?” Bobby asked. “I have something important to ask you.”

“Sure,” Harris said and Bobby made a motion to go. But Harris stood his ground.

“In private.”

“I don’t think that’s in my best interest,” Harris said. “I want witnesses. So if you have something to say to me Ewing. You can do that in front of everyone.”

Bobby sighed, as he would have preferred it if they didn’t have an audience. But Harris Ryland was too slick to get cornered like that. “Alright, it’s about Pam’s accident. I wanna know who paid you to drive out that truck in front of my wife’s car!”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Harris said nonchalantly.

“Yes you do,” Bobby said harshly, “and don’t try to weasel yourself out of this one. We have proof that ties you to that car crash. So if you don’t cooperate I won’t hesitate to turn that information over to the police.”

“Yeah like they would care after all this time,” Harris said.

“I mean it Harris,” Bobby said as he grabbed hold of the other man’s shirt collar. “This is very important to me so we can do this the hard way or the easy way. It’s your choice.”

“My mother warned me that you had been sniffing around that accident,” Harris said.

“And?” Bobby prompted, as he eased his grip of the man before he choked. “Please tell me what you know. Pam is still scared that someone is after her and I don’t want the woman I love to leave town because she is...”

Harris smirked when he heard that, “The woman you love?”

“Damn it Harris!” Bobby cursed as he pointed his finger at the man. “If someone had done this to Ann you would have wanted to know too.”

“Alright Ewing, you win,” Harris said. “I will tell you.”

“Good so who paid you to hit my wife’s car?” Bobby asked.

“You mean your car,” Harris said.

“Yes but my wife was driving it,” Bobby said.

“Well she wasn’t the target,” Harris revealed.

Bobby’s eyes widened when he heard that, as realization struck him like lightning, “You mean to tell me that someone hired you to kill me?”

“Bingo,” Harris said. “So the question is not who wanted to kill your wife. But who wanted to kill you.”

Bobby gave Harris a suspicious look, “Are you trying to scare me?”

“No,” Harris shook his head before he started to explain. “The man who paid me was really after your brother JR. He wanted to hurt JR for making a deal with him that got some of his men killed in Saudi Arabia...”

“BD Calhoun!” Bobby exclaimed, as he put the pieces together. “But he’s dead.”

“Yeah so you have nothing to fear from him,” Harris said before he laughed, “It’s ironic how things worked out though. I mean if I hadn’t meddled in your life you wouldn’t be standing in my way now.”

Bobby’s eyes narrowed, “What do you mean?”

“You wouldn’t have married Annie if you hadn’t divorced Pam.”

“That’s true,” Bobby said.

“So do you still love her?” Harris asked and watching Bobby's reaction told him everything he needed to know. “Because if you do you understand how I feel about Annie.”

“That’s not the same thing,” Bobby said harshly. “You are incapable of loving anyone!”

“And you are a god damn hypocrite Ewing,” Harris said.

“I think this conversation is over,” Bobby said.

“Almost, there’s just one more thing Ewing, if Pam’s the woman you really love, then how come you’re not with her?” Harris taunted Bobby and his remark earned him a fist straight into his face, as Bobby hit him. The crowd gasped when they saw that, as the two men had managed to catch everyone’s attention but neither one of the men cared to explain what their fight had been all about. Instead they just parted ways and Ann rushed up to Harris to tend to his bleeding nose.

Here's tonight's update.

*

Christopher and Elena were sitting indoors on a sofa just enjoying some quiet time with their family. Christopher was holding baby Drew in his arms, as he was trying to rock him to sleep. “So the lawyer called yesterday and we have gotten a court date for the adoption procedure,” Elena told Christopher.

“He called yesterday?” Christopher gave Elena a look. “And you wait until now to tell me?”

“Sorry it just slipped my mind,” Elena apologized. “With the lack of sleep my mind is just shattered.”

“I know what you mean, this little guy never wants to go to sleep when I want to sleep,” Christopher sighed. “I never knew I could be this sleep deprived.”

“Yeah babies are a lot of work,” Elena yawned.

“They are,” Christopher said. “Anyway when is our court date?”

“Two weeks from today,” Elena said.

“Great, I can’t wait for this little guy to become my son,” Christopher said, kissing the top of the baby’s head.

“I am the luckiest woman on earth to have such a great husband,” Elena smiled when she saw them.

“No I’m the lucky one,” Christopher said before he leant forward and gave Elena a kiss on the mouth. But then baby Drew of course felt left out and began to cry.

“Oh no,” Elena sighed. “I thought he was about to drift off to sleep.”

“So did I,” Christopher said, when it rang on the doorbell. Elena and Chris exchanged a look and Chris said. “Can you?”

“Sure,” Elena sighed, as she got up and got the door. Christopher then continued to rock the crying baby until Elena came back with Pam in tow.

“Hi Christopher,” Pam smiled, at the image of domestic bliss in front of her. Then she walked up to her son and grabbed hold of the baby’s little finger, “Hi Drew!” She cooed at the baby.

“Hi mom!” Christopher smiled. “I would get up to give you a hug but I sort of have my hands full.”

“Drew has decided that he doesn’t want to go to sleep,” Elena sighed.

“I can hear that,” Pam said, holding out her hands. “Here maybe I can help?”

“If you don’t mind,” Christopher said.

“Of course not, I’d love to hold my grandson,” Pam said as she gently picked up the baby from Christopher, holding his little head up against her chest, while she gently started rubbing his back. It apparently did the trick since Drew stopped crying.

“That was amazing how did you do that?” Christopher asked.

“Oh I just rubbed his back like I used to do with you when you were little.”

“Wow! Grandma’s still got the magic touch,” Elena said.

“Yeah now we might get some sleep tonight,” Christopher said. “Thanks mom, I don’t know what we would have done without you. He’s been crying three nights straight.”

Pam made a face when she heard that, “About that, I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news.”

Elena and Chris exchanged a look, before Elena asked, “What’s wrong?”

“I’ve decided to go back home,” Pam said and when they gave her some weird looks she added after a beat, “To Abu Dhabi.”

“What?” Christopher exclaimed in such an upset voice that it woke the baby.

“But Dallas is your home,” Elena insisted.

“Yeah you promised that you’d stay in Dallas and watch Drew grow up!” Christopher said, as he snatched the baby away from Pam. It made Drew start to cry again.

“I know and I’m sorry but I have to go back to Abu Dhabi,” Pam said. “I don’t want to leave you but I can’t stay in Dallas after what has happened.”

“I don’t understand,” Christopher said, looking hurt. “Before you wanted to stay so what’s happened?”

“It’s between your father and me,” Pam said secretively trying to keep her private life to herself. But Christopher surprised her.

“I already know he spent the night with you!”

Pam looked embarrassed and surprised when she heard that, “He’s told you?”

“I figured it out,” Christopher said.

“Oh,” Pam said. “So then you know why I can’t stay here?”

“No I don’t,” Christopher said in an upset tone of voice. “Your family is here!”

“Yes but it hurts too much right now to see Bobby with Ann,” Pam made a face, “and besides it’s not safe for me here in Dallas.”

“Not safe?” Christopher asked.

“What makes you say that?” Elena asked.

“Well Bobby told me that someone tried to kill me,” Pam said.

“What?” Elena exclaimed.

“But that was almost 30 years ago,” Christopher said.

“I don’t get it,” Elena said, looking to her husband for an explanation.

“Mom’s accident,” Christopher clarified, as he handed Drew to Elena. “I had Bum look into it and it turned out Harris Ryland was behind it.”

“Oh no!” Elena made a face.

“So considering everything I really must go back home,” Pam said. “But I do expect you to come visit me and we can e-mail each other and call and...”

“But it won’t be the same,” Christopher said, as the tears started to well up in his eyes.

“I know,” Pam said. “Anyway my flight leaves tonight. I just wanted to drop by and say goodbye.”

“Well you shouldn’t have bothered,” Christopher said angrily before he turned around and rushed off.

“Oh God!” Pam gasped as she hadn’t meant to hurt her son. She made a motion to follow him but Elena stopped her.

“Let him go!” Elena said. “He’s hurting right now. But give him some time and he’ll come around.”

“I hope so since I don’t want to lose my son again,” Pam said.

“You won’t,” Elena said before she reached out and squeezed Pam’s hand in a silent gesture of support. Christopher on the other hand was crying to himself, feeling abandoned once again. Just when he’d gotten used to have his mother back she was leaving him again and although he was a grown man now it still tore up the old wounds from his childhood. He was hurting real bad and just like then he blamed himself for that his mother was leaving him. Back then he thought it was because he was adopted. Now he thought it was because he had started to poke around about his mother’s accident since apparently some stones were better left unturned. So yeah having his mother leave him again hurt like hell.

Okay and now on to tonight's update.

Ann and Harris had retreated to one of the bedrooms of the castle. It was the only place in the palace where they could get some privacy from their guests. They were sitting on some old treasure chest while Ann was tending to Harris wounds, “I’m so sorry about Bobby’s behavior,” Ann apologized. “I don’t know what he was thinking, attacking you like that.”

“Don’t be,” Harris waved it away. “I am sure I had it coming. I do know exactly which buttons to press to upset him.”

“Still he shouldn’t have attacked you like that.”

“I would have done the same thing if someone had done to you what I did to Pam,” Harris said.

“Pam?” Ann looked at Harris in bewilderment. “What could you possibly have done to her?” Ann wondered. “You barely know the woman.”

“That’s true. But I did drive that tanker that Pam crashed her car into.” Harris confessed.

“What?” Ann dropped her mouth in shock.

“The police ruled it an accident, but Bobby somehow found out that I drove the truck and now he blames me for ruining his marriage.”

“But that’s absurd!”

“Tell me about it,” Harris sighed. “I’m sorry to say it but your husband loses his head whereas his first wife is concerned.”

“So I’ve noticed,” Ann sighed.

“He even beat me up because he still loves her,” Harris said.

“I see,” Ann stiffened, when she heard that and put down her hand with the antiseptic.

“You don’t seem all that surprised.”

“That’s because Bobby cheated on me with Pam,” Ann confessed. Telling him made her vulnerable but they had been so close lately that she wanted him to know.

“Cheated on you?” Harris asked. “How is that possible?” He gently reached up and cupped her cheek.

“I’ve asked myself the same thing a hundred times, but it’s true,” Ann said before she reached up and placed a band aid on Harris forehead.

“Are you sure it’s not just a malicious rumor?”

“No he told me himself that he cheated on me with her,” Ann confided in Harris as she pulled back from his hands.

“Then he’s an even bigger idiot than I thought!”

“Well he clearly doesn’t trust me either,” Ann said, as a tear ran down her cheek. “Did you know that he’s Lucas real father?”

“What?” Harris dropped his chin, as his eyes widened in shock, “No, you mean to tell me that our little girl is married to your husband’s son?”

“So you didn’t know?” Ann asked. “It’s funny I thought for sure that would have turned up in your background check. Didn’t you check his birth certificate?”

“No,” Harris sighed. “I never went that far back. I just checked his school records and more recent stuff. Damn! I thought Jenna and Ray were his parents.”

“Well legally he’s Ray’s son. He’s adopted him,” Ann said.

“Well good,” Harris said.

“Still I’m hurt that Bobby didn’t trust me enough to tell me he has another son,” Ann said in an upset tone of voice. “I mean why didn’t he tell me?”

“Maybe for the same reason that you kept Emma a secret from him,” Harris suggested.

“But I thought Emma was kidnapped,” Ann said. “Bobby’s always known where Lucas was. He’s just never cared to go see him.”

“Well I’ve always thought Bobby was an asshole,” Harris said. “This just proves my point.”

“Harris...”

“I know, he is your husband and you don’t wanna bad mouth him,” Harris sighed. “Still it hurts me to see you this upset Annie. I love you so much and yet there’s nothing I could do to...”

“Harris please,” Ann said.

“I know, you are married and you don’t love me anymore.”

“That’s not exactly true,” Ann sighed. “See a part of me do love you.”

She didn’t need to tell him that twice before he seized the opportunity to steal another kiss. Ann kissed him back with a passion but then he suddenly pulled back. “I’m sorry,” Harris apologized. “It won’t happen again.”

“What if I want it to happen again?” Ann asked.

“Then it’s a different thing,” Harris smiled at her. “But what about your marriage?”

“My marriage is pretty much over anyway,” Ann sighed, as it pained her to admit that. Still having Harris waiting in the wings to sweep in did ease her pain a little.

“Good,” Harris said before he leant forward and kissed Ann again.

I'm glad you found the last part to be that good @superman fan :hugs:

Now there's only one more chapter to go of this story. I hope you'll like where it ends.

Chapter twenty

Bobby had barely slept a wink all night as he’d spent most of the night worrying about his wife. Ann had not returned to their room to sleep all night and it was not like her. Sure yesterday had been her daughter’s wedding day so Bobby assumed that she’d been out celebrating all night long. The party had still gone on when he’d left it and gone to the hotel to sleep around midnight. But he had expected his wife to be here in the morning when he woke up. So when she wasn’t he was really alarmed. He picked up his cell phone and called her on speed dial. Then he could suddenly hear a phone signal that went off. He looked up in the direction of the sound just in time to see his wife walk in through the door.

“Bobby!” She smiled sheepishly, as she realized that she’s just been busted.

“Annie where have you been all night?” He asked in a worried tone of voice.

“Um...” Ann looked down, feeling guilty. But then she remembered that Bobby had started this when he had cheated on her with Pam. So she looked up, giving him an angry look, “That is none of your business.”

Her reply angered him and he lashed out at her, “Of course it is, I am your husband!”

“Well you should have remembered that before you jumped into bed with Pam,” Ann argued and he could see in her eyes that she was still hurt by his cheating.

“Oh so is that what this is all about?” Bobby sighed.”You decided to stay out all night to punish me?”

“No,” Ann shook her head. “I spent the night with Harris.”

“You did what?” He exploded.

“I slept with my ex, like you did!” She spelled it out for him and seeing the anger and hurt expression in his eyes she almost relished in hurting him like he had hurt her.

“Oh Annie I’m so sorry,” Bobby shook his head. “That you had to degrade yourself like that because I hurt you and...”

“It wasn’t like that,” Ann insisted. “Besides you have no right to pass judgment since you slept with Pam before I slept with Harris!”

“Yeah but that is different,” Bobby said. “I love Pam. We never would have gotten divorced if it hadn’t been for the meddling of other people.”

“I know and it kills me to be married to a man who doesn’t love me,” Ann said in a broken voice, as a tear ran down her cheek.

“But I do love you,” Bobby tried to reassure her but his words didn’t help since she could feel that something had changed between them.

“Not in the way that you love her,” Ann cried and something flickered in Bobby’s eyes. The pain was written all over his face. “Don’t deny it since I can feel it. Ever since she came back into our lives you’ve been obsessed with her and therefore I think it’s better for everyone involved if we just get a divorce so you’re free to be with her.”

Bobby dropped his chin, as he could never have imagined that Ann would be the one to ask for it, “You’re asking me for a divorce?”

“Yeah, our marriage should have been over a long time ago,” Ann sighed. “But we’ve been clinging on to it thinking it will get better.”

“That’s not true,” He denied it. “Yes we’ve been having problems. But we’ve worked through them and I thought we were good now,” He sighed. “Besides all marriages takes some work to last.”

“I know but don’t you see that we’ve been trying too hard?” Ann tried to make him see the light. “But now it’s time to face the music. You and I are not good for each other Bobby. We don’t trust each other.”

“Sure we do,” Bobby said.

“No we don’t,” Ann insisted “If you really trusted me you would have told me the real reason why you wanted to go to Emma’s wedding.”

He crossed his arms defensively, “What are you talking about?”

“I know Bobby,” Ann said accusingly and seeing the confusion on his face she added after a beat. “I know that Lucas is your son!”

“Oh,” Bobby made a face, as his arms fell back to his side, “How did you find out?”

“I overheard you and Jenna argue yesterday and it hurt like hell to realize that my own husband doesn’t even trust me enough to tell me he has another son!”

“Oh Annie, I don’t know what to say. I know I’ve hurt you,” he admitted and the pain was visible in his hazel eyes, “But to go to Harris Ryland of all people. Don’t you remember how he’s hurt you before?”

“Yes but he’s a changed man,” Ann said. “He’s grown some balls to stand up to Judith now.”

“He is still a piece of work,” Bobby said warningly. “You deserve better than to be with a scum like that.”

“I deserve to be with the man I love and that’s Harris,” Ann said.

“You can’t be serious?” Bobby dropped his chin. “Please Annie tell me you’re joking.”

“It’s no joke,” Ann said in a small voice. “I love Harris just like you love Pam!”

Bobby sighed when he heard that, since he had been blind. Apparently his marriage was in more trouble than he’d thought. Sure he knew that Harris still loved Ann. But he hadn’t expected the feeling to be mutual. But seeing Ann standing before him now he knew that his marriage was over. Yet he had nothing but compassion for her, “I pity you then!”

“I don’t need your pity. I just need you to let me go,” Ann said pleadingly. “I’m serious Bobby. I love Harris and I want to be with him.”

“I find that hard to believe,” Bobby shook his head.

“It is true,” Ann insisted. “I don’t know about you, but I think we should be with the people we’re in love with.”

Hearing her reasoning he knew that he had to let her go. It killed him to know that she’d be divorcing him to spend time with a scum like Harris Ryland since Ann deserved better than that. She was a good woman who deserved to be treated like a lady. He knew Harris would never do right by her. But he also knew that they were miserable together and Ann was offering him a chance of happiness. If he divorced her he could have a third chance with Pam and despite all logics he knew in his heart that’s what he really wanted. So he caved in.

“Alright you’ll get your divorce,” Bobby sighed. “But try not getting killed by Ryland.”

“That is ridiculous,” Ann said. “Harris will never hurt me again.”

“He caused Pam’s accident,” Bobby informed her. But Ann wasn’t easily scared off by that.

“Like you said it was an accident,” Ann said.

“No he drove out on purpose,” Bobby said. “He took money from a terrorist to do it.”

“Well maybe he was working under cover,” Ann made up excuses for Harris.

“You don’t even believe that yourself,” Bobby said. “You know Harris is capable of most anything. He kidnapped your baby and that’s why you tried to kill him!”

“That was a crime of passion,” Ann told him. “I thought I hated Harris. But the line between love and hate can be quite thin. Besides I know now that the whole kidnapping of Emma was all Judith’s doing.”

“But he still went along with it!”

“Because he was weak,” Ann said. “But he’s not weak anymore.”

“Is there nothing I can say to make you see what a mistake you’re making?”

“No,” Ann said. “There’s nothing left to say.”

“Alright then, I hope you won’t regret this.”

“And I hope you will be as happy with Pam as I will be with Harris,” Ann said, as the tears ran down her cheek.

“Thank you Annie,” Bobby said, before he walked up to Ann and gave her a hug. It felt like a bittersweet goodbye since there really was no animosity between them. They were simply two people who had grown apart. They were in love with other people and therefore they both wanted out of their marriage.

Thank you for the feedback and ratings everyone! :dance1:

@Pammy P Sure Bobby will go back to Dallas, only to notice that Pam has already left...

@superman fan I really like Ann too and yes Bobby was quick to criticize Harris. I think he's worried about Ann. But since he wants to be with Pam and they both know it there's nothing he can do about it. Their marriage is over.

Jenna and Ray were having brunch together on the balcony of their house. Ray poured himself another glass of tomato juice and mixed it with raw eggs. His head was killing him. Observing him Jenna smiled, “Looks like someone had one too many last night.”

“Well it was a great party,” Ray rubbed his temples before he managed a smile. “It was our son’s wedding day so I think that deserved a celebration.”

“It did,” Jenna said.

“Just remind me not to drink this much when Katie gets married!” Ray laughed but Jenna didn’t join him in the laughter. Picking up on it Ray went on, “You seem sad though. So what’s eating you?”

“Oh it’s nothing,” Jenna said nonchalantly, waving it away.

But Ray saw right through her that it was not nothing, so he enquired, “Is this about Katie’s going to Africa?”

“No,” Jenna shook her head to his surprise.

“No?” Ray searched out her blue eyes and he could tell that something was definitely on her mind. “So you’re not worried about her?” Ray asked before he admitted, “Because I am.”

“You know I am too,” Jenna bit her lip. “But that’s not it.”

“Then what is it?”

“Well it’s Bobby if you must know,” Jenna sighed.

“Bobby?” Ray’s jaw clenched, as it had been a long time since Bobby had been a problem in his marriage to Jenna. He had thought that his wife was over him for good. But seeing the sadness in her eyes he started to wonder if maybe he’d been wrong.

“Yeah,” Jenna sighed, “It was just weird seeing him at the wedding. I mean he’s never taken any interest in Lucas before.”

“Do you really think he was there for Lucas?” Ray asked. “I mean he is married to the mother of the bride.”

“Don’t remind me,” Jenna moaned, since she was not ready to have Bobby in her life again. “So does this mean that we’ll have to see him at all the family functions from now on?”

“I guess,” Ray said, taking her hand. “But don’t worry, we have a good strong marriage, so we can handle it.”

“I know we can,” Jenna smiled at Ray as she squeezed his hand. “I just wish we didn’t have to.”

“So do I,” Ray said, neither one of them knowing that Ann had already solved their problem for them. There wouldn’t be that many family functions with Bobby on the guest list in the future either and that suited the two of them just fine.
