Harris Picks Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for Her Running Mate

I don't think you understand what's at stake here. I read an article earlier today and it left me horrified. Apparently dozens of pregnant women have been denied the health care they need because of the new stricter abortion laws. Should a woman who tries to have a baby be punished because she lives in the wrong state?

I mean these women have been punished twice the way I see it. One, they lose a child that they wanted to have.
Two, they may lose their ability to have another child since they almost die miscarrying a baby that will never be able to grow big enough to survive due to it being an ectopic pregnancy.

These women could die just because their pregnancy was not normal. I think it's terrifying how little these women's lives matter.

From the details in that article, what occurred was medical negligence, and it can and does unfortunately happen to non-matertnity patients as well. An arrogant sob big wig head of the department doctor tried to send my 75 year old bleeding from her bladder grandmother home from the E.R. because she was too old to waste his precious time on, but an incredibly brave young intern risked his career and went up against the sob and admitted her. It turned out that she was bleeding because she had bladder cancer. My family will never know what consequences there were for that amazing intern, but my family will always be eternally grateful to him for his courage that gave us 7 more years with my grandmother. The Chief of Surgery who was called in to perform my appendectomy was overtired and made a bad judgement call to not reattach a muscle that he should have, and I ended up having hernia repair surgery because of his bad judgement. My mom waited for several hours just for some Tylenol in the E.R. to ease the pain from her fall . All examples of medical negligence that wouldn't have been prevented by all the reproductive rights in the world, and it's only going to get worse with our healthcare system stretched to the breaking point. I don't think you understand that we're heading towards World War III and there are more pressing serious economic and national security problems that need to get addressed first. Reproductive rights won't help you afford putting a roof over your head, food on your table, gas in your car, or protect you from a terrorist attack.

When Walz finally dealt with the riots in 2020, he apparently thought it was a good to impose a curfew and to have police treat residents outside their homes like terrorists.

Harrowing video shows dozens of riot cops enforcing Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s curfew order spreading out in a Minneapolis neighborhood and peppering residents with paintballs while they stood on their porches and in their front doorways.

The newly resurfaced clip, filmed May 30, 2020, by Tanya Kersson just outside her home, resembles a scene from a dystopian movie. It shows a tan Humvee rolling slowly down a quiet street in the Whittier neighborhood, followed by at least 25 heavily armored cops.

Kersson can be heard saying aloud, “Look at this, they just keep coming–” before she’s cut off by several officers barking orders at full volume.

“Go home! Get inside! Get in your house now, let’s go!” the officers shouted as they traipsed down the street.

The woman kept filming, at which point an officer can be heard saying “Light ’em up!”

Suddenly, officers fired paintballs at the woman and her guests, the gun’s muzzle flash clearly visible against the fading light of dusk.

“Get in! Get in! Get in! Get in! Get in!” the resident shouted to her friends as they made a mad dash to get out of the line of fire.

The muffled chorus of shouting police voices continued through the hastily slammed front door.

The incident came just days after the Minnesota governor, now Vice President Kamala Harris’ running-mate, issued a draconian executive order imposing a strict 8 p.m. curfew for all Minneapolis and St. Paul to tamp down the violent riots following the murder of George Floyd.

The cops were filmed in the trendy Whittier neighborhood of the city, which is home to the Minneapolis Institute of Art and a popular restaurant scene. It is more the two miles from the area where Floyd was killed — where riots and looting raged for days.

“Since May 29, 2020, when I first issued a nighttime curfew, over 400 individuals have been arrested, with over 250 individuals arrested after the 8:00 pm curfew on May 31, 2020,” Walz wrote in the June 1 extension of the original order.

“Because much of the destruction and violence has taken place under the cover of darkness, we must continue a temporary nighttime curfew in coordination with the Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.”

Ordering the Minneapolis police to aggressively enforce the curfew against law-abiding citizens in their own homes wasn’t the only time Walz turned the famously neighborly North Star State residents against each other.

A few months before the police crackdown, Walz took a great deal of criticism for instituting a “hotline” that allowed Minnesotans to snitch on each other for violating social distancing protocols in the pandemic’s early days.

Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka (R-East Gull Lake), said on X at the time, “It’s not necessary and it’s not how Minnesotans want to treat each other. We can all show a bit of kindness to our neighbors as we manage our times and needs differently in the stay-at-home efforts.”

GOP state rep. Mary Franson said on X that the hotline amounted to “ratting on neighbors” and accusing Walz of implementing big government intrusion.

Kersson didn’t respond to a message from The Post seeking comment.

I am sorry to hear that you have your own experience of medical negligence. I agree it is a problem for other patients too and that the health care system needs to change. Our system is a little better than yours as the patients doesn't have to pay as much for being sick. But our system has also reached it's breaking point.

Unfortunately I do know that we live in a fallen world and that World War III is a real risk. I also know that if it happens Sweden won't be able to stay neutral like we did during World War II since we've now pledged our allience to Nato, our sons and daughters will also be forced to fight in that war.

But yes it makes sense that people needs their basic needs met first before they can think of other people. Reproductive rights is a human right in my opinion. But if you are not affected by it personally it makes sense for you to care more about other problems.

Walz Shoots Back at Harris: ‘When I Criticize, I’m Criticizing Myself’​

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz responded on Sunday to his former running mate Kamala Harris’s “told you so” quip, saying he would save his criticism for the campaign the two ran.

Walz agreed with State of the Union host Jake Tapper on Sunday that Democrats’ 2024 message did not resonate with voters. Instead, he said, the party needed to band together to find an effective way of pushing back against President Donald Trump.

Former Vice President Harris told a crowd at the Leading Women Defined Summit last week that she could see a lot of Trump’s actions coming. “I’m not gonna say ‘I told you so,‘” she quipped to the crowd. “I swore I wasn’t going to say that!”

Harris’s response wasn’t the best fit for the moment, Walz suggested.

“When I criticize, I’m criticizing myself,” Walz said. “I own this. I’m part of the ticket, and somebody has to come up with a strategy.”

Walz said the former vice president likely meant that it was “pretty self-evident” that Trump was going to do what he promised. Still, Walz said, Democrats needed to figure out how to redefine themselves beyond the elitist image Republicans have created for them.

“I do think the challenge for Democrats—and this is, I think, a structural problem that’s going to take a lot more thinking—why, with all of that out there, did they not think we were any better than that?" Walz said. “And I’m very concerned with the folks who stayed home, and these are folks that I’ll say once again—Donald Trump has identified their angst."

Tapper also asked Walz if Democrats should have recognized former President Joe Biden’s decline earlier and acted on a candidate switch sooner. Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson are set to publish Original Sin, a book that promises to reveal the “cover-up” of Biden’s decline, next month.

“Don’t you think your party needs to acknowledge that President Biden was not up for the job of running for reelection, that this was a major mistake?” Tapper asked.

“Well, look, history will tell us to go back on that,” Walz said. “That very well could be the case, Jake. What I’m concerned about is learning from those lessons. I would hope we would never do it again. Make a mistake. Make sure we go through get someone—I don’t know where it helps us going forward."

Instead, Walz said, Democrats should focus on establishing a unified opposition to Trump’s policies if they aim to win in future elections.

“If there is not a royal opposition, if there’s not some soul searching on our side, if there’s not reaching out to—those folks who are in the streets, they’re leading right now," Walz said.
