This happens with a lot of people I notice. Numbers can get overwhelming. But I did double check your math and everything seems okay.
Phew that's a relief. Believe it or not <-------- that's another saying of mine believe it or not .. Lol. .Anyway, believe it or not, my Dad has a ridiculously clever mathematical brain, his degree is in math, so I don't take after him.

Either that or we’re both wrong of course. That’s the other possibility Lashes but we’ll keep that between us.
That's fine with me DFF ..

The rain here is very peculiar. You can’t predict it. There won’t be a cloud in the sky for miles and then all of a sudden it will just start pouring out of nowhere. Sometimes it will rain for 5 minutes and stop and sometimes it’s all day long.
This reminds me of the time we visited Venice, it was boiling hot and then suddenly it absolutely poured down, then it stopped without warning. In the meantime the restaurant we had taken shelter in had a mini flood coming in from under the door.

Two weeks ago we had rain for the entire week and this week SO far not a drop.
You have more rain than I imagined. Do you get local flooding?

We get a lot of practice with late parcels LOL!! I will often prepare my speech for the next house as I’m driving if I notice there’s a late one coming up next.
You're such a pro! :D

Well, I think I’m okay with it LOL!! I mean, I already gave my speech at the wrong meeting anyway so how can I ever top that? I do notice the story has become quite exaggerated now as these things always do. Let’s see, now I hear I actually cut the cake and took a piece. That didn’t happen. (Well, it almost did). Then I heard I ran away, which I didn’t. I would say I walked away rather briskly but I definitely didn’t run.
Lol! .. we call that 'Chinese Whispers' do you? its when a story becomes more and more exaggerated with each telling. Ah well at least you got people talking :)

I guess my thing is killing iguanas. I feel so bad but they’re all over the place down here and they move very quickly so they can appear out of nowhere and unfortunately I can’t always avoid them. I’ve taken out several with my work vehicle and my personal car as well so you’re not alone in your never ending assault on the wildlife Lashes.
Ooo be careful my friend, if the budgies hear about this slaughter you'll be sent to the TT quarry :yikey:

That is an adorable little girl you got to help you with the math Lashes
Isn't she just :D what a little star.

At the end of the day” we are now 79 posts away from the magical 5000 halfway point.
Lol! .. is that at the end of today or the end of the other day? :jk:

Ha ha... I'm one for doing this. I like interesting words, syntax and idioms.
Me too. Do you ever pick on other peoples accents? .. not on here of course  but during your travels around the UK?

I find them everywhere, including right here!
I love it, it make life far more interesting. I also like seeing how different some American words are.

Believe it or not <-------- that's another saying of mine believe it or not .. Lol.
I use that one a lot too. I think it ties in to one of my all time favorite shows growing up. Believe It Or Not was the theme song. Terrible show but hey, it was the 80s.

.Anyway, believe it or not, my Dad has a ridiculously clever mathematical brain, his degree is in math, so I don't take after him.
I’m not tooting my own horn of course but as I think about it I guess I’m the math person in the family. Everyone always calls me and asks me to do the math for them. I’m just realizing how much money I could’ve made over the years had I charged them. To bad I wasn’t doing the math on that one.

This reminds me of the time we visited Venice
Oh, what I wouldn’t give to visit Italy! One day! I’m just afraid I wouldn’t want to come home.

In the meantime the restaurant we had taken shelter in had a mini flood coming in from under the door
Never mind. I really don’t need to visit!

All kidding aside though, that must’ve been pretty scary I bet. Thank goodness you made it out okay!!

You have more rain than I imagined. Do you get local flooding?
Yes, we flood quite easily where I am for I’m not that far from the ocean. A pretty steady rain here can get ugly pretty quickly.

Lol! .. we call that 'Chinese Whispers' do you? its when a story becomes more and more exaggerated with each telling
Yes, I’ve heard that expression and it definitely applies here. The story is still growing. And Friday didn’t help when my boss finally announced my anniversary in the morning meeting. As you know I’m very shy and not good with those announcements and I wasn’t expecting it that morning so when the woman on my right put her shoe on top of mine and the woman to my left grabbed my arm to keep me from running I had a pretty good indication of what was coming. “Stay still DFF and please find it in your heart to forgive us someday” was all I heard one whisper to me before I heard my name. But then everyone clapped and my boss asked me if I wanted to say anything and so I said the first thing that came to my mind. “No cake?” That got a good laugh.

Ooo be careful my friend, if the budgies hear about this slaughter you'll be sent to the TT quarry :yikey:
I didn’t think about that to be honest Lashes. Now you have me more than a little concerned. I’d hate to go through the same ordeal you went through at the hands of the TT justice system.

ol! .. is that at the end of today or the end of the other day? :jk:
I guess it was at the end of the other day. “So” I think anyway? But “Believe it or not” and “At the end of the day” now we’re at 4926, only 74 away.

Michelle Stevens

'The Lovely Michelle'
I'm sure the pruning will do them all .. Streetie especially, the world of good.

Very true. She is recovering well and is enjoy the outdoors, my Mother's garden, this summer with the other plants. I hope she is as happy as she was last year.

This reminds me, a friend of mine has had a Poinsettia for over 18months and its still going strong with beautiful red leaves, anyway she showed it me the other day and its got these little pod-like things growing on it. She asked her gardener (shes posh she has a gardener) and he said if she lets them drop off and dry out then they can be planted to grown more plants. Have you ever heard of this before Michelle?
No I have not. I think it is hard to grow them from seeds. Most as just cuttings left in water with some growth hormones for rooting. Last year when Princess and Duchess were pruned I put the cuttings in water and they slowly grew roots. One is still alive in my Mother's garden with Streetie and the gang. They will keep their red leaves well into summer. My Duchess has a few that didn't get cut during her pruning.

Not too bad at all, hes a strange shape after his accident, but he seems to still be growing. I really must take his photo this weekend to show you.

Also, little Tallulah is still thriving which amazes me as she has a tiny pot. I daren't re-pot her in case she doesn't like it.

They have lived to see Summer so that's a good sign that your fourth try is working out. I'd love to see an image of them sometime. :)
I would imagine he/she was very grateful and at least he/she won't now think its died when its just having a rest.

True. I hope all went well.
Sadly no. I still miss our old visiting cat.

I do remember your garden cat stories and the cat named Dusty in your neighborhood.

I didn't realise those are car names, they sound perfect for Orchids.
They transfer well. I've used a few from car names that seem to fit. Lumina, Pacer, Spirit, Topaz, Savoy, Comet, and now Polara and Omni.

This is good to hear, she has a good Nurse caring for her :gotcha:
Moxie has really improved after that stem rot issue. She is growing a new leaf and new roots. I'm tickled that she is doing so well.
You could name one of them April? :hide:
Hmm... these two came together as unwanted plants so like Moxy and Roxy and Marbles and Muffin I was hoping for names that linked the two. I'm weird like that. Some plants belong together as they have shared experiences. :crazyme:
I reckon this technology will happen one day, not in our lifetimes, but far off into the future.

True. I'm surprised your aliens don't have this technology.

Hotness? . take off your jumper and you'll soon cool down N2H :NI:
Oh no, when I take off anything I just get hotter, much hotter.

I'm glad you noticed it, many people are so buy rushing around they might have missed seeing it.

Indeed!
We've had 4 so far this year  ... it mainly seems to happen to fledglings. I always go and check they're ok.

Oh no! Poor little birds.

Let’s see, we’re 72 posts away minus this one equals 71 and we have about 22 days left, right? I think it’s gonna be close.

I just hope I’m alive to see us reach our goal on July 15th cause this heat down here is pretty brutal. Hottest summer I can remember in all my years in Florida.

I hope everyone had a nice week and enjoy the weekend as well!

I don't really notice the local accents, not a big surprise as it's the norm.

When I find myself working further afield I notice their accents and I find it mesmerising, for want of a better phrase. I recall that the first time I found myself in the West Country, I walked around the Sainsbury's just listening to the phonology of people speaking.

I did the same in Newcastle, and found that accent pleasing on the ear. I found myself doing the same in Scotland and in Ireland and actually pretty much everywhere I've been on my travels. Funny thing is I can't mimic any accent but find some pleasing on the ear.

As alluded to earlier, I find the differences in the common language we use here quite interesting. If all that makes sense!

You would love it DFF. I know you have ancestry links with Italy .. am I right? or did I dream that?

The scenery, the history, the people and as for the Pizzas? you would be in heaven, they're absolutely massive and the best we've ever tasted, I'm starting to drool here as I remember the taste

Yes, we flood quite easily where I am for I’m not that far from the ocean. A pretty steady rain here can get ugly pretty quickly.
That's scary, floods cause such devastation, I feel for anyone who has been flooded out.

Steetie is fab and the toughest Poinsettia ever. I like to think of her relaxing in your Mothers lovey garden, she's earned her life of relaxation in good surroundings.

No I have not. I think it is hard to grow them from seeds. Most as just cuttings left in water with some growth hormones for rooting. It must be so rewarding when a cutting becomes a new plant like it has for you.

The friend I told you about who has these 'pod-like' things has given me 3 of them, I have no idea what I'm going to do with them? Perhaps I'll just plant one and see what happens and then take it from there?

They have lived to see Summer so that's a good sign that your fourth try is working out. I'd love to see an image of them sometime.

Even with the delightful Irish and Scottish accents they can be so different depending on what part of Ireland or Scotland you're in.

I've tried doing different accents, but I can't either. I have a friend from Liverpool and after spending a couple of hours with her I can kind of do a very bad scouse version.

As alluded to earlier, I find the differences in the common language we use here quite interesting. If all that makes sense!
Yes, it makes perfect sense. I like it when something comes up unexpectedly, be it the way a word is spelt differently or phrases used.

But then as I rabbit on and on I'm sure others pick up some different thing's I come out with and then wonder what the heck I'm on about

Yes, flooding can be very scary. And now we’re officially in hurricane season here so let the madness begin! We’ve been getting real lucky over here these past 5 years. I hope it continues.

Your colleagues know you so well, no way where they letting you escape :D
No, they made that clear. I do like to flee from those situations and I guess they knew that. I told them that someday many years from now I will think about forgiving them.

Lol! .. Ooo I'm so pleased they made a fuss of you, you deserved that recognition.

Thank you Lashes! But no, there was no cake presented because I guess 24 is not a milestone anniversary. However, my two helpers that had to hold me in place so I didn’t run got me a cake on their own and put it in the fridge for me in the break room. I told them that this would definitely work in their favor if I ever decide to forgive them one day.

I think you're okay, if the budgies were going to punish you then they'd have apprehended you by now :cool1
Let’s hope you’re right Lashes. I have been driving a little slower lately where I know the iguanas like to hang out. They seem to appreciate it I think. I do get some dirty looks from them though. I guess I might’ve accidentally killed some relatives.

I agree, but now that I am older and wiser, although Big Sister and Dear Mama will suggest that I'm getting dumber because I often behave and carry on in a fashion that they both KNOW is me "not living right" because they know everything about everything about everything. But I digress...

I was once a young chap with little frame of reference and hearing about places like Frome Newcastle, Birmingham, Edinburgh et al I assumed that they were a galaxy way.

The epiphany hit me when I started driving for the job I was doing. West Country is about 2 hours away. I can reach Birmingham in around two hours. Basingstoke to Newcastle was about 5 hours. The UK is rather small but the range of accents is greater than the land mass would suggest.

But then as I rabbit on and on I'm sure others pick up some different thing's I come out with and then wonder what the heck I'm on about
Recently I was doing great work by showing a fine gentleman I have known since time that I can match the man drink for drink to defend my honour...I showed him this platform and some of my paradigm altering magic posts

He noticed something.... he said something like "you use phrases and ideas that you like that others won't get. I know that you are going the the long way round to get it across but other don't know that....

On reflection the man was letting the shed load of Heineken talk for him. I always get straight to the actual point!
