I've missed so much and missed you all so much,

Will need a few days to catch up, but I'll get there :D

If she had to pick a favourite New York would probably just come out on top over Las Vegas and San Francisco. She only had chance to do the usual tourist locations but said it was absolutely amazing and a very special experience
I’m so glad she enjoyed herself! It always makes me smile when someone says they loved experiencing New York. Vegas and San Francisco are also great places to see of course.

. I've seen photos of Time Square and Ground zero (Is that the correct name for the Twin Towers location? apologies if it's not) She saw the Statue of Liberty by boat and could see Central Park from her Hotel. It also snowed!
Yes, Ground Zero was the name given to the site after the attacks. I haven’t been to Manhattan in quite a few years now but the beauty of the city never ceases to amaze me. It’s a very special place for me. The Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Freedom Tower, I really do love it all.

It also snowed!
Okay, well I don’t love this part though

My husband visited in the early 2000s and also really enjoyed New York. It's somewhere he's promised to take me one day (I'm still waiting!) I'm coming round to the idea now whereas before I felt I would find it a little overwhelming. As you know I've only been to Palm Springs and since then I've wanted to plan another visit to the States and see much more. I'm sure I will go soon.
I do hope you get to visit someday! Yes, it can be a little overwhelming at first. It’s a busy, hectic place. I grew up there and I still find it a little overwhelming when I return, but it’s home. It always will be home for me no matter where I go, especially the nice, quiet, Northern part of the state that’s in my avatar.

I was itching to go for the Dallas reunion this weekend and even looked into it but I fear I could be disappointed by such a well organised and large event compared to the wonderfully disorganised and intimate event I went to. I still secretly wish I was there though
I looked into it as well but I just couldn’t coordinate my schedule to get out to California right now. Maybe if it was a little closer. I do envy you because to date I’ve never met a Dallas star. Only a few athletes and a rock star so far.

Lucky you! It's 3 degrees Celsius today (about 37.4 I think) but lucky us it's going to double figures next week hitting 10-12 which I think could be around the 50 mark like the temperatures you had. It's been a very wet winter this year but spring is on the way, fingers crossed.
3 degrees Celsius? Well that makes me feel better about our cool mornings lately. I hope spring gets here soon for you. Looks like we go right from winter to summer over here this year.

Sorry to hear you're nursing yet another injury. Here's hoping you recover real soon.
Thank you! I’m okay. I guess I’ve always been a little klutzy and injury prone. As someone in my family always says to me, “What is it this week DFF?”

Take care for now LML!!

I travelled to Thailand twice just before covid and loved it so much.
I've only been once. First to Bangkok, then a week in Chiang Mai. One was a young man enjoying the everything that the path I choose to walking had to offer. During that period of my life I had a blast, it's hard to put into words, but rolling through that scene of all nighters, festivals, weekend long house parties, three day sessions, impromptu mash-ups, late night "back to mine" with people I'd meet 2 hours ago...and so on... made sense to me, I understood what was going on et cetera.

Not a scene for everyone, but worked for me, and done. Now leading a more sedentary life, but richer because of... (meandering down Memory Lane again)
I thought I was never going to get back here and no, I've not been in jail
Ha ha, get yourself down HMP Winchester. know a few people that have served time there, it's the catchment area prison for B'stoke, it's like a party as everybody knows everybody. I, of course, am a model citizen and don't bother the judiciary, except for that whole 43mph in a 30mph zone... the magistrate had a lot to say, the man didn't crack one smile. I've decided to forgive him the fine he handed me! :haha:

I’m just nursing another injury, nothing serious,
Wishing you a speedy recovery. I'm kinda luck as I've never really injured myself in a meaningful way. I've given myself two day hangovers... and outrageously Dear Mama and Big Sister had no interest in my hour of need... and instead of words of comfort, they offered stern rebuke and nothing else. That's messed up, right?:haha:

Thank you my friend! Between all those years of pursuing that elusive athletic career and a very physical job I’ve had my fair share of bumps and bruises. Nothing ever serious really, just some major sprains and a few broken bones here and there. Some torn ligaments along the way.

Of course the injuries sustained on the Last Post thread the past few years didn’t help either.

I bet Dear Mama and Big Sister have their hands full, don’t they? That’s okay though. You keep them active and on their toes and that’s a good thing. Every family needs that troublemaker. I relished that role for years, but countless slaps, kicks, stern talking down to’s, eye rolls, head shakes, threats, late night talks, etc. all made DFF a much better person.

I really can't fathom growing up somewhere like that. I've only ever seen images on T V of course so can only imagine what it might look like.
To think there's a part that you describe and use as your avatar that really exists simply fuels my intrigue even further.

I’ve never met a Dallas star.
I really hope you do someday. Every loyal Dallas fan deserves to meet a Dallas star. I feel blessed every day that I got the opportunity. As I've said before my son met Patrick late last year and he's grown more of an admiration for him now. He keeps wanting to watch a whole episode of Dallas which I would love but in return I have to watch some of his Star Wars.
For Mother's Day he (and his Dad) got hold of a 1979 copy of the radio times TV magazine featuring Linda on the front cover and a 3 page Dallas special to promote the new season starting and includes the episode Whatever happened to Baby John part 1. I was thrilled and very touched, to think I had just turned ten when it was issued is quite remarkable. I had only just started collecting Dallas pictures etc then.

He also wants to go to a reunion now to meet other Dallas stars.

The weather here is still cold and drab. I think we're all waiting for some brightness and a bit of warmth soon.

Hope your injury is better DFF and you're now fighting fit. Take care and go careful!

First to Bangkok
Ah yes Bangkok. That place really is something else. Not sure I could face it again but still had a truly amazing experience there.

Now leading a more sedentary life,
Oh me too, much more so. I was fascinated with Italy back then when a psychic told me I was an Italian nun in a former existence. I wanted to delve further into it, well the Italian bit anyway.

Hope everyone here is keeping well including @Long Lashes and @Michelle Stevens
Have a Happy Monday all.
Take care everyone, 'Bye for now.

Obviously my avatar is quite different than what you might think of when you think of New York. We were only about 100 miles north of the city but it was a much different world as you can see. That was kind of what I really loved about where we lived. It was so quiet and tucked far away from all the madness yet that madness was always close enough to go experience whenever we wanted. Most of my family lived in the city, so for them our rural life was hard to adjust to, and the same was true for us when we visited them. I always loved the city and still do, but it was such a more rapid and crazy world from what I was used to.

It’s amazing to me that at your son’s age he has taken such a curiosity to Dallas. I’m sure you might’ve had a slight influence there LOL!!

So the deal is he watches a Dallas episode but you have to watch Star Wars? I have to say he is showing early signs of being a good businessman someday LML!

Have you thought of which episode you would show him first, or would you start him off right from the beginning?

For Mother's Day he (and his Dad) got hold of a 1979 copy of the radio times TV magazine featuring Linda on the front cover and a 3 page Dallas special to promote the new season starting and includes the episode Whatever happened to Baby John part 1. What an amazing gift! That must’ve made your Mother’s Day, I’m sure. I wasn’t quite watching yet at that point. I didn’t start getting involved until somewhere in the ‘83-84 season. Of course I went back and watched all of the earlier seasons the first chance I got.

He also wants to go to a reunion now to meet other Dallas stars.
I guess Patrick made quite the impression on him.

The weather here is still cold and drab. I think we're all waiting for some brightness and a bit of warmth soon.
I hope it’s warmed up a little for you over there! Don’t get mad at me but it’s 83 here right now. We will apparently have no spring this year, which is kind of funny because here we were a few weeks ago complaining about the cold and now we’re complaining about the heat and wishing the cold was still here.

Hope your injury is better DFF and you're now fighting fit. Take care and go careful!
It’s been a tough month and a half but I’m on the mend. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts!

You take care as well LML, and have a nice weekend!

Everyone else here please do the same!

As I’ve said to you before ‘Lashes, let’s be thankful no psychologists stop by here for a peek.
I bet they would have a field day with all our posts  .. especailly mine and with me having The Enforcer as an alta ego...Lol!

You Brits have definitely influenced me greatly on this site. I’ve learned so much chatting with all of you.
Same with you DFF , I've learned a lot about the US from you and @Michelle Stevens ... especailly with all the questions I ask, and I do ask a lot you are both very patient :giggle:

Thank you my friend! And here I was thinking it was because I’m the only driver that walks up the right driveway.
You are obviously very efficient , certainly more efficient to the delivery driver who tried to leave a parcel at ours and insisted we were not home and took it back to the warehouse. When I phoned up I really had to stand my corner and tell them we were definitely at home waiting . .anyway, it turned out that not only had he been to the wrong address he's also been to the wrong town and then put the blame on us for not being home
shaking-fist-dark-mode.gif
..don't get me wrong I know mistakes can happen, I don't have a problem with that, but it was being wrongly accused I didn't like.

So DFF, if you ever feel like a change we certainly need someone efficient like you over here :)

Jealous biddies? I like that one! Is that yet another Brit thing I can steal? Is biddies anything like the budgies?
Have you not heard of that before? Yes, jealous biddies is something we say, but the biddies are not related in anyway to the budgies

Boring? ‘Lashes believe me when I say I’ve been interacting with you for quite a few years now and your posts are anything but boring! And I have bruises, cuts, abrasions, torn ligaments, broken bones and scars from the Last Post thread to prove it.
I can be quite volatile on here, but only to the people I really, really like
smiley-lol.webp

Of course you may ask! Yes, we do get a lot of sick calls over Christmas. People do tend to get fed up with all the extra work. I guess you can’t blame them. DFF is quite the idiot though apparently as I’m known as someone who never calls out sick.
I had a feeling you wouldn't call in sick, I really hope your managers notice this and don't take you for granted.

Its good to be back my firend and I've enjoyed catching up with you again

Here she is, today, with a friend of hers from November.

How fab to see Matty! :heels:She has great leaves! I like her pot too. How is she going? Their colors really brighten a room this time of year. Let's hope she makes it to next Christmas.
I'm so glad you like her :D .. she is still very content thank you.

I daren't move her position from the window sill because she loves the afternoon sun there (thats when we do get sun..Lol) .. As for her making it to next Christmas? well lets just say .. you Michelle are far more optimistic than I am :cool1..Lol!

I blazed up the pipe a treat over Christmas into 2024. I blaze for peace and love and everlasting. The peace pipe is a talisman of great power, come and join me under The Lightning Tree, we'll blaze sun down 'til sun up. Great work happens in meadow were the wind blows free after the witching hour.
Did you get a brand new pipe of peace for Christmas @Biggie? :D

I got caught doing 34mph in a 30mph zone once, well I was going downhill  .. I know I shouldn't have done it and I'm not proud, but their was absolutely no one else around .. apart from the flipping speed camera :fist: .. 3 points on my licence, yikes.

And so the search for @Long Lashes continues. I’ve reached out to all my contacts in the galaxy. I’ve been in touch with all neighboring alien life forms and ordered all UFO spacecraft grounded and searched.

You know, I just realized though that this would be a great time to steal the Hotness Crown on a different thread, wouldn’t it?
Now thats real fighting talk my friend :p

Sorry, sorry. This is not a time for selfishness and we must remain focused on the search for our lost friend. My crooked little pre-arthritic index finger remains hovered over the “Friendly Hug” button waiting for a sign, any sign, of your return ‘Lashes.

Just a quickie while I'm able to be here. Hi everyone, hope you're all well. Not often I can manage to get here so loving this opportunity. It'll take me oh so long to reply to individual posts so I'll reply in one.
I know you are always busy on the main forum so its always good to see you on here anytime @LMLDallas78 :)

. I've seen photos of Time Square and Ground zero
One of the places I'd really like to visit is Ground Zero, I hope this doesn't sound too morbid?

Its just that when the twin towers where attacked it truly shocked the world, I know its something that I will never forget. Do you remember how the mood of our country changed in that moment as we sat glued to our TV's in disbelief. I still feel like I want to pay my respects to all those innocent people.

My husband visited in the early 2000s and also really enjoyed New York. It's somewhere he's promised to take me one day
I hope you get to go. I've only been once for a short break and I want to see so much more.

I reckon that could be a problem ‘Lashes. They’ve got you right there on having multiple personalities. I’d be in much trouble myself I’m thinking, mainly for posting nonsense that no one in their right mind would even want to read. Of course always referring to myself in the third person as DFF could also be an issue, which I notice I do a lot for some reason.

Same with you DFF , I've learned a lot about the US from you and @Michelle Stevens ... especailly with all the questions I ask, and I do ask a lot you are both very patient :giggle:
You can ask questions anytime my friend! How else do we learn anything? I notice I ask a lot more questions now compared to when I was younger. I would never ask anything of anyone because I was so shy but now I’m just a shy person that asks a lot of questions.

You are obviously very efficient , certainly more efficient to the delivery driver who tried to leave a parcel at ours and insisted we were not home and took it back to the warehouse. ..don't get me wrong I know mistakes can happen, I don't have a problem with that, but it was being wrongly accused I didn't like.
I love that story! Unfortunately it’s all too common because I’ve heard it so many times before. I’ve seen packages end up in the wrong house, the wrong neighborhood, town, city, state, even country. I wish I was kidding but I’m not.

I’m so sorry they didn’t believe you though my friend. That’s ridiculous because you have no reason to lie. You’re the customer and you just want your parcel. It’s drivers like that one that give us a bad name.

This driver has no idea what crossing The Enforcer will lead to should he or she not find your house again next time.

So DFF, if you ever feel like a change we certainly need someone efficient like you over here :)
If this old, falling apart body holds up long enough I’d be honored to deliver your parcels someday ‘Lashes. I can guarantee you they will be delivered to the right house, on time and with a smile.

(Just not in the cold or snow)

Have you not heard of that before? Yes, jealous biddies is something we say, but the biddies are not related in anyway to the budgies
I’ve never heard that one before. I’ve gotta use it. Yet another expression I’ve learned here. I never knew how many phrases you use that I’ve never even heard. So what exactly is a jealous biddie again?

I can be quite volatile on here, but only to the people I really, really like
smiley-lol.webp
That’s why I love that thread. You’re so different over there. It all comes back to the split personalities. I must say you do this so well! It’s the only thread where I’m a little nervous when I post. Sometimes I do fear that thread will really be my Last Post if The Enforcer shows up.

I had a feeling you wouldn't call in sick, I really hope your managers notice this and don't take you for granted.
It’s kind of funny ‘cause I actually took a sick day this week and I had coworkers texting me all day asking if I was okay. They probably thought I was dead Lol!!

Oh that does sound so idyllic. I think I would be pleasantly surprised by that vision. I just imagine New York to be how we usually see it. What a wonderful picture you paint.

When I travelled to Palm Springs I was in awe. I know I was going for a special reason so was literally on such a high but I had waited so long for an excuse to travel to the States. We had a stop and I can't remember where it was. That sounds terrible that I've forgotten. It really did look lovely and mountainous from the airport. I could kick myself not remembering. Anyway everyone we met along the way was simply a joy to meet.

I’m sure you might’ve had a slight influence there LOL!!
Whatever makes you say that? (Ha ha)
For his age he knows so much about Dallas and remembers quotes almost better than me! I definitely must have brainwashed him but then he's got youth on his side with his young mind absorbing everything. He even mentioned Dallas while being assessed recently by speech therapists. I was proud of him anyway of course but he managed to talk about Patrick bless him.

Don’t get mad at me but it’s 83 here right now
It's hard not to be mad! That temperature sounds beautiful right now but it's strange going straight to that from winter. We're used to what we're used to I guess. It's raining hard here tonight......for a change. Still need the fire on at home most evenings. Your heating bills must be non existant?

My phone's on a go slow again so this is a bit jumbled up, apologies for that and it wont always copy and let me reply to specific sentences.
He (My son) would love to hear he has the makings of a good businessman. He has his difficulties but I don't think he'll let them hold him back.

If he does watch any episodes of Dallas he thinks he'd like to watch house divided followed by the reveal. Also Ellie saves the day. He mentions Diggers Daughter too but he's more interested in Jock and like me finds him hilarious when we watch YouTube clips.

Glad to hear your latest injury is behind you now. Are they always work related injuries? Hope you didn't require any time off. I bet you plod on and just get on with it.

I seem to have gone on rather a bit. Hope you're keeping well and take care for now DFF.

I know you are always busy on the main forum
I'd be here more if I could, it's not for the want of trying but my tech issues make it extremely difficult so I just stick to the Dallas forum when I manage to get on it.

I hope this doesn't sound too morbid?
Not at all, I think it's more of a respect thing. As you say it had such an impact and is never forgotten so paying respects at the actual site is far from morbid.
When I travelled to Thailand I went to a remembrance place that was for the victims of the tsunami there. I didn't want to be morbid or glorify their suffering, I just wanted to pay my respects as I was in their country. Nothing could have prepared me for the pictures of numerous poor bodies on the beach (which I didn't know beforehand) and the devastation left behind. Those images will always stay with me.

I'm sure I will get to New York one day as I love travelling but this year is already booked up. I think I read you enjoy walking? Have you any special places you enjoy?

Hope you're keeping well and take care for now.
Same for everyone else here too.

Oh that does sound so idyllic. I think I would be pleasantly surprised by that vision. I just imagine New York to be how we usually see it. What a wonderful picture you paint.
It’s a huge state, and outside the city it’s an entirely different world. I love the city, but I love the country more. I guess my ties are all up in that part of the state because that’s where I grew up but most of my family before me grew up in the city so their ties were there.

I grew up in the mountains with farms and wild animals all around and I remember when people from the city would visit us. They’d ask if they were still in New York and I’d assure them they were.

When I travelled to Palm Springs I was in awe. I know I was going for a special reason so was literally on such a high but I had waited so long for an excuse to travel to the States.
I’m glad you enjoyed finally getting here. California is quite beautiful as well! It’s not far behind New York and Florida for me.

We had a stop and I can't remember where it was. That sounds terrible that I've forgotten. It really did look lovely and mountainous from the airport. I could kick myself not remembering
Lol!! It doesn’t sound terrible. It was your first time here. Hmmm, Colorado maybe? I’m trying to figure out where you might’ve stopped.

He even mentioned Dallas while being assessed recently by speech therapists
He mentions Dallas to his speech therapists? Oh I have respect for this kid! If I mention Dallas I usually get “You mean that show that was all a dream?”

Still need the fire on at home most evenings. Your heating bills must be non existant?
I never use the heat to be honest. I just shut the AC off when it gets cold. Using the heat here is pointless to me but I know people that do sometimes.

He (My son) would love to hear he has the makings of a good businessman. He has his difficulties but I don't think he'll let them hold him back.
I admire his determination because we all have our difficulties. The key is learning to deal with them and not letting those issues hold him back as you say.

He mentions Diggers Daughter too but he's more interested in Jock and like me finds him hilarious when we watch YouTube clips.
Jock was really hilarious with his classic one liners. I love some of the stuff he says on the blooper reels too.

Glad to hear your latest injury is behind you now. Are they always work related injuries? Hope you didn't require any time off. I bet you plod on and just get on with it.
Thank you! This one I have no idea where it came from. There was no event that led to it so it’s probably just wear and tear. It’s just nagging awhile now but I’m okay. Didn’t miss any time off yet but we’ll see what the future holds.

I seem to have gone on rather a bit. Hope you're keeping well and take care for now DFF.

I grew up in the mountains with farms and wild animals
How lovely this sounds. When you write your book about tales of a delivery driver, you really do have a wonderful story to start with.
I remember my childhood story books and Heidi was one of my favourites. You describe the US version of Heidi in Switzerland. And I love your story of visitors asking if they're still in New York.

Hmmm, Colorado maybe?
Not long after I put the post on I remembered it was Salt Lake City. I have no clue what it looks like apart from being able to see the mountains from the airport. It was so strange how I just couldn't recall it then popped into my mind out of nowhere.
I do love mountains and lakes. Beaches are my favourite view and if I can I'll have a little house with a seaview someday (in my dreams). Not so keen on countryside views but many people do enjoy the countryside. I'm trying a bit harder to appreciate the countryside with rolling green fields now I'm older and it really is on my doorstep but I'll travel far and wide in search of beaches, lakes and mountains.

Oh I have respect for this kid!
Aww I really enjoyed reading this. When he told me I said I bet they'd never heard of Dallas. I can usually judge by age and not usually wrong. I was sort of right, they'd heard of it but hadn't watched it. A red rag to me so I have to bite my tongue and smile sweetly when I met them afterwards and they brought it up. All the time I'm wanting to sit them down and tell them what their lives have been missing!
When I mention Dallas to people I usually get the response who shot JR or shoulder pads. I love that different people remember it for different reasons and mostly from casual watchers not die hard fans like myself.

it’s probably just wear and tear.
I guess with such a physical job like yours it's inevitable it will take it's toll on the body. I find ailments just seem to appear from nowhere now with no specific reason. The joys of aging I suppose. I hope I don't turn into one of those little old biddies that is forever complaining about pain here and aches there but I feel I already could be very close! Soldiering on without a care doesn't come as easy anymore and is in no way appealing.

Here's hoping you remain injury free DFF. Take care in that heat too, (I'm only jealous) we had a couple of milder days but cold again today. It's nearly Friday so have a great weekend and take care for now!

Same goes for everyone else here too.

Most of my orchids are in bloom now. It looked like a flower shop in my dwelling. They are returning the love and good vibes.

I daren't move her position from the window sill because she loves the afternoon sun there (thats when we do get sun..Lol) .. As for her making it to next Christmas? well lets just say .. you Michelle are far more optimistic than I am :cool1..Lol!

Good to hear. One of your poinsettias made it to July one year if my memory is correct. I hope this one makes it to at least next Christmas. How does she look now, still have red leaves?

Streetie is still alive, amazingly. She looks kind f rough, losing a limb over the Winter and dropping many leaves but she's started some new leave growth in recent weeks. She's an old and somewhat sick plant so to even still have her is a joy and a blessing. She may, fingers crossed, make it back to the garden again this year. My other poinsettias are all different stories too. Giftie, the one I received as a gift last December did so well but suddenly got "soft rot" on her lower limbs and 85% of her died. I took three cuttings off of her and the cutting are alive in water. My giant from the discount at the store is also alive but with few leaves but looks okay for a Spring rebound.

Never a dull moment in my plant world.

Ooo and I missed being here with you all
This place isn't the same without you! :danc:

How lovely this sounds. When you write your book about tales of a delivery driver, you really do have a wonderful story to start with.
I remember my childhood story books and Heidi was one of my favourites. You describe the US version of Heidi in Switzerland. And I love your story of visitors asking if they're still in New York.
Yes, that would definitely be my starting point in the book. I guess it was very similar to Heidi in Switzerland now that you mention it. I am due for a trip back to that part of New York. It’s been over 20 years since I’ve visited.

Not long after I put the post on I remembered it was Salt Lake City. I have no clue what it looks like apart from being able to see the mountains from the airport. It was so strange how I just couldn't recall it then popped into my mind out of nowhere
Oh, it was Utah? Okay. Another beautiful state in my opinion. I’m a big admirer of mountains so usually any state that has them will rank high on my list of places to visit here.

I love beaches as well. I’ve always loved the sound of the ocean. Of course, considering the spoiling weather here, going to the beach is pretty much a year round thing so I do kind of get tired of it sometimes. I won’t go back for awhile but then I’ll start missing it again.

Of course I don’t recommend a beach house in this climate, at least not during the dreaded hurricane season. I’d rather be further inland and not so close to the water.

I guess I’m mostly a countryside person because that’s what I grew up with. I miss that a lot sometimes but I’ve become used to living in the big city over the years.

I’m still amazed that your son appreciates Dallas at his young age! This is very rare nowadays. I know for a fact I’ll never get my 14 year old niece or 20 year old nephew to sit down for an episode. Of course it’s okay that I’ve had to sit and watch their shows against my will over the last 20 years but I digress.

Funny thing is I never noticed the shoulder pads back then. I kind of like them in a way. It’s all so 80s-ish but it was unique for the times. It was something different.

Soldiering on without a care doesn't come as easy anymore and is in no way appealing
I am struggling Lol!! I was 23 when I started this job and, well, I’m really not 23 anymore. I’m watching a lot of my friends retiring now and I know I’m going to be there eventually. I need to stick around about 6 more years so there’s always the possibility of taking another position in the company at some point. But I really would miss being on the road. I’m not sure how I would handle that, or maybe I’m wrong and I’ll discover i should’ve done it years ago like everyone tells me.

As for you worrying about turning into someone that complains about aches and pains all the time, have no fear ‘cause I’m already there and it’s actually not that bad! I do like the attention it can bring but of course people get tired of hearing it sometimes. Luckily I work with a lot of people that are falling apart so I guess we have each other.

I hope it’s warming up over there for you! Right now it’s 8AM here and it’s already 74 so I’m assuming I’m going to fry today once I get outside.

Have a nice weekend LML and take care!!

Everyone else here have a nice weekend also!!

As for you worrying about turning into someone that complains about aches and pains all the time,
I could talk with authority about aches and pains that have taken up residence in my body, and they going no where. In my mind I'm still 17 years old, but every morning my body tells me different. But, I am not one to grumble... I bitch up epic instead, and no one takes an interest or cares. All hope for the human species is lost I'm saying.

Big Sister lives in Hong Kong, has done since 1999. She has acclimatized. In January she phoned Dear Mama and I was roped in so that they could tell me how to live right. She said that it was "freezing" in HK at 20 degrees Celsius. I said that WTF are you moaning about, I just deiced my van, and the temperature being displayed was 6 degrees below zero degrees Celsius. Just Googled 78 degrees Fahrenheit, it's23 degrees Celsius, at 8am. That's something that just doesn't happen in the UK.

We are now in Spring according to the Met Office (weather people) and another wet and cold winter with no snow. Significant snow events are a rare thing. Met office said once in 20 years on average. The warming effect of the heat generates by the kinetic energy by the sea and ocean's movement help the UK to remain just warm enough to avoid winter weather akin to inland countries. The land mass radiates the heat stored as the seasons change. Therefore the air mass sitting above the ground gets cold and the weather reflects that.
Most of my orchids are in bloom
I visited an orchid farm in Thailand. Beautiful it was. And the orchids were grown in baskets like things suspended in the air. Quite interesting to see.

Everyone else here have a nice weekend also!!
I've had a nice and chilled day today. The beers are going down at a steady pace, and I turned on this laptop found myself here while bouncing around my iTunes account. Started by bumping some new downloads and yes very good. Now I have strayed into bumping favourites of long standing, I must say that I have excellent tastes. Now bumping Dizzee Rascal recoded live at the BBC Electric Proms. Fix Up Look Sharp followed by Dizzee live at the Brit Awards with Florence of Florence and The Machine nailing a cover You Got The Love originally by Candi Staton. Jo Whiley put me onto Dizzee Rascal.
