Bobby Ewing's Wife

Telly Talk Newbie
Hi everyone! I used to be a semi-regular poster back in the day, before getting incredibly busy with high school/college and tapering off. But I felt compelled to check in on the forum this week, and I was very sad to read about the server crash and disappearance of the old boards!

Anyway, while it certainly doesn't have everything saved, I thought I'd check the Internet Archive WayBack Machine, and it does seem to have some pages and threads saved from the original boards over the years (example: https://web.archive.org/web/20081010030727/http://www.soapchat.net/showthread.php?t=173532). So while I know it's not the same and not everything is there, if you're wishing you still had access to a specific thread, it doesn't hurt to check if they have some portion of it saved there! :)

Also, apologies if anyone has already suggested this! Haven't had a chance to read through everything yet. Hope you've all been doing well though!

Welcome back Bobby Ewing's Wife and thanks for sharing that. Reading it again sure brings back memories. I remember what an exciting fall it was and how we had the count down clock on the board counting down the days until the event. :)

The comment about the event being intimate and up close and personal sort of makes me laugh considering what a debacle it turned out to be.

I wonder whatever happened to the plans to bring the party to the UK next?

Thanks Karin! I agree, the lead-up to the event was very exciting, with the announcements of which actors would be there and everything...it is funny to read the initial plans and compare them to what actually ended up happening haha. Despite it not unfolding as promised (far from it), it was still a once-in-a-lifetime experience to attend a Southfork BBQ! I didn't remember that they'd planned to bring it to the UK, but maybe the actors were hesitant to participate in something similar after the organizational calamity in the Dallas event?

I definitely agree that it was a once in a lifetime event and great fun despite "the debacle" it turned into!
Still I do think that the event played a part in getting Dallas back on TV so it brought something good with it. :)

But yeah you are probably right that they scrapped the UK event after the mess the SF one turned into.
