If I had another criticism of the season it that so many people were shot dead

I hadn't noticed this, at least not consciously, but now you mentioned it it does indeed look like a clean-out. They had survived all that carnage for several seasons and suddenly they all became sitting ducks.
What I liked about the previous seasons is that some of the bad guys died in funny freaky accidents because of the Byrdes.
I do like Frank Jr as the new head of the KC mob, There's something about his semi-disabled condition that makes him look very cool.
Another character I'd like to see more of. Let's start the spin-off petition!
