I wonder if the DNC is still happy with themselves for rigging the primaries against Bernie Sanders.

Last spring, one of the liberal members was telling me how Sanders was a clown that had no chance of winning against Trump. He only got 47% of the vote in the primaries, won 22 states, and inspired millions of millennials. Another liberal member told me Hillary deserved the nomination because she knew how to navigate the election process. So the Dems got the Wall Street owned, war supporting, anti-gay rights supporting, welfare gutting, private email server using, pay to play scandal candidate of their dreams. And now the Republicans have taken both the House and the Senate, and Donald Trump just won the Presidency with 276 electoral votes.

Congratulations Democrats. You just handed the election to Trump on silver platter. Those of us who refused to participate in the "lesser of two evils" bullshit are not to blame for the awful candidate you propped up.
You seriously think Sanders, the socialist, would've have any better luck defeating this cretin? The problem is everyone seriously underestimated the number of truly deplorable people in this country.

As much as I would have loved to have seen a socialist in the White House, I really don't think Bernie would have done better than Hillary. His main support was amongst young educated people, a demographic that eventually voted overwhelmingly for Hillary in the election. What won it for Trump, was support among white "uneducated" male voters and there's nothing to suggest Bernie would have done better with these voters than Hillary.

The simple but sad truth is that Hillary waged one of the best campaigns I've ever witnessed in my lifetime, giving it everything she had and then some. And in the end, the lowbrow American public decided they'd rather have a cross between Homer Simpson and the Tasmanian Devil over the most qualified candidate in history.

What was it about Hillary that made her so qualified? Much of her track record in politics consists of supporting neocon polices that are in contradiction with Democratic principles. When Trump comes out and says he's against the trade deals Hillary supports that cost American jobs, that resonates with people. Of course bigotry and xenophobia play a part with many of his supporters as well, but others feel screwed over by establishment elites.

Hillary didn't even support a $15 an hour minimum wage, tuition free public colleges, or the public option until the rise of Bernie Sanders. During the primaries, she referred to his policy proposals as "pie in the sky." Her views on gay marriage changed only three years ago, and coincided with the changing views of the country. In other words, she changed her mind when it was safe to do so. Same with her apology over her Iraq War vote.

She's taken money from Wall Street, foreign leaders with atrocious human rights violations, used her private email for government business, and so on.

Also, it's worth noting that Bernie Sanders beat Trump by larger margins than Hillary during the primaries. Sanders may be a Democratic Socialist, but he tackled the issues important to young people, the middle class, and people living in poverty. He also doesn't have Hillary Clinton's political baggage or Trump's petulance and divisiveness. That's why I believe his chances of winning against Trump were greater than Hillary's.

I used to think they were conservative. But now I see they're simply primitive. Instead of the first female President, the United States of America went for 'grab 'em by the p*ssy' yokel. That's what appeals to them, that's their redneck level. And the more primitive they are, the more they'll replicate, so this will likely get worse in the future.

Well, as I said before, in this case all that's left is to bring out the popcorn and watch the train wreck reality show that's about to unfold.

Californians must have seen it coming and voted to legalise marijuana to ease the pain of the consequences of a Trump presidency.

Kind of like the out of touch complacent Loyalists "underestimating" the determination of the "deplorable" Patriots to break free from tyranny, huh?

Or we can get out our flags and drink a toast to the "hope and change" that we're finally going to get.

many? I disagree..This was won by the public FINALLY rejecting the eletist freight train,, and just in time.. Generally (at least i believe) people dont go to the polls over race issues unless they feel victimized.. I am certain Trump converted a huge percentage of former betrayed Obama voters..
Hillary didn't even support a $15 an hour minimum wage, tuition free public colleges, or the public option until the rise of Bernie Sanders. During the primaries, she referred to his policy proposals as "pie in the sky."
You are an example of a "would be" Bernie voter that feels betrayed.. Another reason for more seperation at the polls.. Honestly, considering last night I dont think he would have won.. Bernies message would be powerfull after the crazy spending is haulted..

I would agree with these "pie in the sky" ideas if. our leaders decided to put all resources into our country.. I think this is going to happen.. Prosperity in america and take care of our own first..

We now have a president owned by nobody.. This is great.. And I hope any congress or senate member that has a corporation in their pocket feels Trump's wrath..

Her views on gay marriage changed only three years ago, and coincided with the changing views of the country. In other words, she changed her mind when it was safe to do so. Same with her apology over her Iraq War vote.
ironically all the bs the left tried to portray donald as IS actually true about Hillary.. Racist, homophobia, marginalizing women.. Unfit.. Unqualified..
She's taken money from Wall Street, foreign leaders with atrocious human rights violations, used her private email for government business, and so on.
and that is the telling part that we have a guy now that never held any political office.. The Clintons were blatantly corrupt..

Sanders isnt a good "Now" choice.. But his type will be good when America prospers again and we have money to help our own.. And not throw overseas.. Lets work and take care of our own as a huge family.. This will happen with tax breaks that can bring all the manufacturer jobs back to the states.. More people working.. More money flowing.. Get competitive with schools and these ripoff universities that pay proffesors millions shile xharging poor kids ridiculous prices for books THEY DONT NEED because we now have had the internet available for a couple of decades..
