@Toni a round of applause for your much anticipated scenes collection, of twenty.

A showdown, which has been 3 decades in the making.

A showdown was on the cards, ever since Jacqueline got off the plane from Charles de Gaulle. Circa 30 years after she left Jason; the Perrault woman squares up to Angela, outside the Gioberti castle, (a scene from season 1, 1981 - '82):

Jacqueline: "Power, that's all you love."

Angela: "Love? What do you know about love? The one time you had it, you turned it away."

Jacqueline: "That's not what happened and you know it. I knew what you were up to. I knew that you were out to take over all of Falcon Crest."

Angela: "Jason never had the raw guts to take it away from me and neither did you. That's why you ran away."
It just had to happen - 'the battle of the sister-in-laws' to be continued.'

The right man is sitting at the top i.e. Harv from DALLAS. Small in stature yet an immense legal eagle. I wouldn't expect anything less for Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval) as a silver award is a mighty accomplishment, in this company. Greg obtaining bronze for FALCON CREST is a good result. The lawyer who stood his ground morally when his boss Angela, wanted to go down the underhanded route.

Kudos to multiple award winning Brian Dennehy as Jake Dunham (DYNASTY), for cruising into fourth position. He was a tank of a lawyer who got very animated. The lovely looking Monica from the same show didn't make the TOP TEN, which is disappointing. I'm glad 'shout at the top of your voice' KL Mack did get a slot, in the 10.

Angela calls the shots. Will Greg toe the line or not go underhanded?

Greg Reardon arrives at the front of the Falcon Crest mansion, on his motorbike. He has a business lunch with Angela. Lance is not all that long back from a gallop on his mare and still has the horsewhip, in his hand. He is sitting with his aunt Emma, on the veranda; (a scene from season 4, 1984 - '85):

Emma: "I wonder who that is?"

Lance: "I don't know but I'm going to find out."

Greg: "Hi!"

Lance greets him, still holding the horsewhip: "What can I do for ya?"

Greg: "You're Lance Cumson. I'm here to see your grandmother."

Emma: "My mother doesn't usually see people without an appointment."

Greg: "And you're Emma. Right?"

Lance: "And who are you?"

Chao-Li opens the stained class front door and says to Greg: "Good afternoon Mr. Reardon. Mrs. Channing is expecting you!"

Angela: "Hello Greg!"

Greg: "Angela!"

Angela: "I see you've met the rest of the family."

Lance: "Not exactly."

Angela: "Well this is Greg Reardon. My new attorney."

Lance shakes Greg's hand: "How do you do?"

Emma: "You don't look like a lawyer."

Greg and Angela laugh.

Angela: "Chao-Li has lunch ready. Come on in!"

Lance and Emma remain, on the veranda.

Lance states: "Angela! I wonder what kind of attorney she thinks she hiring."

Emma looks at Greg's motorbike, while remarking: "A fast one."

Here is the very last video of the year, featuring those episodes from the 5 major soaps that aired during the Christmas Week, though none of them was Christmas-themed. Not even those from "Dynasty", "Falcon Crest", or "Knots Landing" that were so... Happy New Year to all!

Each and every one of them are enjoyable Yuletide aired episodes, topped off by the 'Seaviewers'. Kudos yet again, @Toni !

falcon-crest-staffel-2.jpg

In season 3 'The Grape Granny' Angela didn't have to contend with her adversary 'The Madame Granny' Jacqueline. She left a substantial last will and testament.

Richard converses with Pamela about his mother's will (Jacqueline Perrault) and digests the news that Chase has given away their $50,000,000 inheritance; (a scene from season 3, 1983 - '84):

"There is no inheritance! My dear brother gave the money to some nuns. Maybe he thinks they're going to make him a cardinal, maybe even pope."

Class @Toni! Ah poor old Sid a KL founding character bound for a corner of the ocean and then the biggest yap from the 4 shows Lindsay (god help the poor girl) rolling over. Just a few more tissues required, at that point. The youngest DYNASTY character of the time won't need them. Others can cry for her.

What an extreme for the top two: FC getting silver as Melissa makes sure in her mad way to give baby Kevin a baptism like no other (San Francisco Bay style). There can only be one winner and it is pure gold in DALLAS as Pam literally gets hot under the collar etc. upon encountering the balls of fire.

Lance is trying to convince Angela that he wasn’t involved in the ‘hit and run’; (a scene from season 4, 1984 – ‘85):

Lance: “Grandmother I have no idea who it was. I never saw his face. The guy took my jacket and my car, tried to make it look as if I forced you off the road.”

Angela: “You did force me off the road.”

Emma: “Lance would never hurt you mother.”

Lance: “Thank you Emma! I didn’t. I couldn’t have. I wasn’t there.”

Greg: “Then who was it? Angela didn’t dream this up. The deputies even saw it, happen to her.”

Lance: “Come on! I have enemies. Anyone could have tried to frame me. It could have been Richard, Chase, Cole, Melissa. She’s not that happy that you set up that trust fund.”

Angela: “Well she’s going to be happy, when she finds that it is un set up, by Greg.”

Greg: “Yes as far as you being beneficiary…”

Lance: “You see her plan has worked. Right! I’m out and she’s in.”

Emma: “Now that makes sense to me.”

Lorraine: “Terri Ranson would like to see Lance hurt too. She was angry because….”

Angela: “If you have anything important to say don’t!”

Lance: “Grandmother take it easy with her.”

Angela: “The fight we had over her started this all thing.”

Lance: “That’s not true and I didn’t try to kill you.”

Greg: “Angela wants you out of here and good.”

Greg and Lance are about to start a fight. Chao-Li separates them.

Emma: “Mother stop them!”

Angela: “No one who wants to kill me can stay in this house.”

Greg: “Let us know where you want to send, your personal affects.”

Lance strikes out at Greg.

Chao-Li: “Please no trouble Lance.”

Lance leaves with Lorraine.

Emma: “Lance,” she hugs her nephew.

Angela: “Thank you Chao-Li! I know that wasn’t easy.”

Emma: “It wasn’t easy for any of us mother and I know that you’re sure that Lance did it but I also know that you haven’t had your eyes tested, in a very very very long time.”

Angela: “Oh Emma!”

Emma: “Oh mother!”

Angela: “Sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is to have an ungrateful child.”

Greg: “Thankless. I think Shakespeare had King Lear say thankless child.”

Angela: “Oh what does he know?”

It's nice to see the 1981 unaired 'The Vintage Years' pilot as a link to the wine saga series. Episode 4 of the series proper was closest to the pilot, in terms of plot. Different actors played Chase and Maggie. A character called Richard featured who was much more sinister and twisted than the man acted by David Selby. Chao-Li's character was Lee Fong, in the pilot. Julia was called Dorcas and Emma was heard but not seen.

Angela and Chase (portrayed by Clu Gulager) are in the winery. They are discussing the future; (a scene from 'The Vintage Years', 1981):

Angela: "Even I can't keep going on forever. Someone has to take over in time."

Chase: "What about Lance? I thought you had chosen Lance."

Angela: "That's my mistake!" She then speaks to one of the winery workers: "I want those Cabernet barrels topped today!"

Angela: "Chase I want your son. I want him consumed with this land and everything it produces. Now I'm beholden to no one in this world but I would be in your debt if you could grant me this favour."

Chase: "Sorry Angie but no ........ "

Will Chase live to regret this?

I wanted to share this but didn’t know where to post it, so I figured this video thread was as good a place as any. I came across this online. Seems to be from some sort of Fall preview reel for the show before it was retooled.

Fascinating to see this using footage from The Vintage Years rather than Falcon Crest as we know it..

Here it is, at last. My 500th video, devoted to the reasons why the Supersoaps started their fall around 1984. It includes the four major soaps plus "The Colbys" and "Flamingo Road". I hope you like it (it runs 45' though), it compiles three previous ones posted long ago.

About my uploads, they are not only tributes to the genre, but also previews of the classic era of "Dallas" in Spanish or Catalan, trailers for my fanfic "Ewing Empire", rarities like the Series Finale of "Rituals", and a variety of homages to the deceased actors and directors. A few of the Supersoap tributes are in Spanish or Catalan languages too, and soon I will post one for all the other dubbings of "Dallas".
