'The Lovely Michelle'
Lipstick and Guy's trio still stop by.
From what I've notice its The Trio who return home more that Celeste and Lunar. I love seeing the three of them meeting up again at the nest.Lipstick and Guy's trio still stop by.

but two of them return to the nest in a tangle ...
Their mature form is something to behold. Watching the hatchlings transmogrify has been captivating in a way I'd never have imagined.Lunar/Celeste again, , such a beautiful face
I'll also notice their absence, as I've "invested" thanks to your excellent posts. First rate work @Long Lashes and @Michelle StevensAt least we are getting a long goodbye as they still return home form time to time. I will miss them though.
Now you know why 'Lashes and I got so hooked.Their mature form is something to behold. Watching the hatchlings transmogrify has been captivating in a way I'd never have imagined.

I don't know whats going on herebut two of them return to the nest in a tangle ...

They are such a bunch of teenagers are they not. :floor:Lipstick dropped by with food and was hastily pushed off the nest by her gang ...
![]()
gone are the days when Lipstick and Guy used to pull the food apart and gently feed their brood.![]()
------------------------------------------------
Celeste and Lunar do return to the nest from time to time, but I suspect they spend a lot of their day with Liberty and Freedom learning how to get food?
![]()
How graceful they've become at flying.
Indeed! They've come a long way.How elegant is this ...
![]()
Summer thunderstorms are not in the forecast.this ones not quite so elegant ..
![]()
One very wet Celeste/Lunar

What an amazing image. We are so lucky to have watched them grow over these past months. What a success.![]()
Lunar/Celeste again, , such a beautiful face ...![]()
I will miss them as well. Maybe they'll make a cameo later this year. I will always wonder whatever happens to them after we last see them. We always want them to live long and happy lives out there.I love seeing them become more independent and am thrilled they've made it this far. At least we are getting a long goodbye as they still return home form time to time. I will miss them though.
Selfishly I want to continue watching these Eaglets forever as they learn to hunt and start living independently, but deep down I know that's not viable so instead I imagine them living long and happy lives. I would love to see them make a quick visit back to the nests again, so I hope you're right Michelle and we get an unexpected cameoI will miss them as well. Maybe they'll make a cameo later this year. I will always wonder whatever happens to them after we last see them. We always want them to live long and happy lives out there.
They really are mesmerising and its a real honour to be able to watch them speedily grow and develop into elegant and impressive young eagles.Their mature form is something to behold. Watching the hatchlings transmogrify has been captivating in a way I'd never have imagined.
I'll also notice their absence, as I've "invested" thanks to your excellent posts. First rate work @Long Lashes and @Michelle Stevens
Weighing in with my thoughts.
I agree with @Biggie , the posts and photos have been really good and informative.
but how on earth does grass get up there so high?I just love how the nests get invaded by others, but only until Lipstick & Guy, Freedom & Liberty return and boot them all outThere is still life to see in the nest even in the off-season.

Ah its Mr Squirrel again, I'm so pleased he wasn't eaten by our eagles.

How fascinating to actually see a group of Robins.and at Lipstick and Guy's nest ...
![]()
... a group of American Robins came to visit.
What a fab idea MichelleSince we are in the slow season on the nests maybe we can see some images of past broods. Throwback images.
I've still got 100's of images so I'll route some out.Oh my how I laughed at these two, they were so cheeky! I'm not sure which is funner? .. Soap posing and getting her face right in front of the camera before attempting to rip it apart or Chat in the background looking quizzical ...Lol!Soap and Chat from 2019.

This was comical too, Soap left us with just feet to look at

This was comical too, Soap left us with just feet to look at
Here's a speeded up timeline of that season, from Freedom and Liberty nest building to .... the eventual fledge of Soap and Chat ..
LOL, poor things. They ruined the finely made nest Liberty and Freedom crafted some months earlier. Typical teenagers. This is the state these two rascals left the nest in...

the nest was almost gone![]()

Mr Squirrel seem to have acquired the empty nest for the time being. Its when I see photos like these that I realise how big our eagles are , a squirrel isn't tiny but it looks it when in this eagle-nest.
Oh how fab. Its like they're checking that no other animal has moved in or perhaps they're reminiscing about all the eaglets they've raised? It seems Lipstick and Guy still stop by on their nest.

Life goes on at the Liberty/Freedom nest in August.
Mr Squirrel seem to have acquired the empty nest for the time being. Its when I see photos like these that I realise how big our eagles are , a squirrel isn't tiny but it looks it when in this eagle-nest.
I do wonder of they remember all the eaglets that have had.Oh how fab. Its like they're checking that no other animal has moved in or perhaps they're reminiscing about all the eaglets they've raised?

Here's Freedom (I think) checking on his empty nest yesterday ...
![]()
I don't think he can understand where the heck all that grass has come from..Lol!
What a lovely Blue Jay. Looks to be a juvenile in the foreground. And this morning Mr Blue-Jay popped by...
![]()
he's beautiful, but a bit naughty because he sometimes taunts our eaglets whilst they're small by flying close over their little heads . He's not so brave once they've grown![]()
