Watching the eagles

[Long Lashes]

Their back on the Freedom and Liberty nest!

and Lipstick and Guy are building for the next brood...

Yaay! that web cam has been down for so long, how fab to see these eagles great photos Michelle.

The new pair at the Hanover nest are called Duke and Duchess, Liberty and Freedom are not on this nest anymore.

Oh so they are not Liberty and Freedom , where the devil are they? I like to think that they've made a bigger and better nest somewhere else and are living in private away from the cameras

Hello to Duke and Duchess .. very posh names. They are both absolutely beautiful and I'm sure they are going to entertain us over the coming months, I look forward to getting to know them.

"I'm the Duke and she's the Duchess"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Lipstick and Guy are still as busy as ever repairing and rebuilding ....

This makes me laugh ... Lipstick is doing her usual juggling act with some bedding and Guy just turns around and takes it off her

Here they are making a late night visit ..

It still puzzles me why they don't stay over night on the nest? it looks so soft and comfy.

And here's Guy giving Lipstick a little nibble ..

:love5:

[Long Lashes]

It's all been happening over on Guy and Lipstick's nest, they've had a very cute little visitor ..

I wonder who it is?

he even helped himself to some food ..

If you look beyond the nest you can catch a glimpse of either Guy or Lipstick flying past , they keep a close eye on that nest.

Yikes, here comes an angry Guy ..

Do you think its one of last years brood nipping home for a bite to eat and to say hello?

poor thing got a swift unwelcome from his parent.

Fab images @Long Lashes

Still nest build with Duke and Duchess. I wonder what happened to Liberty and Freedom.

more action with Guy and Lipstick on a very windy day. Poor pigeon.

[Biggie]

Wonderful footage. Thanks for taking the time to post.

A snowy day in the Eagle world.

Duke and Duchess nest ...

Meanwhile at the Lipstick and Guy nest ...

The Cleaners are out in the snow too.

Duke & Duchess

Duke and Duchess nest ...

They really are a handsome couple, we need to try and work out which is Duke and which is Duchess? ....

.... they both look exactly the same to me

On this photo the eagle on the left looks bigger so that would make it Duchess? but then it might just be the angle of the photo?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guy & Lipstick

Meanwhile at the Lipstick and Guy nest ...

Both nests are getting a lot of snow aren't they..

but the eagles just carry on regardless ...

such wonderful wings

The Cleaners are out in the snow too.

I love those cleaners I bet their homes are still warm and cosy as they're well protected underneath Guy and Lipsticks nest.

Guy and Lipstick have had another visitor, this time by a hawk (I think) ...

[Biggie]

@Long Lashes you've excelled yourself. The photos of Duke and Dutchess are stunning in every way.

Duke and Duchess greet the day.

Guy wants to know where the eggs are, they are due soon.

[Trick-or-Treat Stevens]

We have eggs on the Lipstick and Guy nest (Farm Country).

Egg turning.

[Biggie]

On a nondescript grey day in my corner of the world, that's given one a needed little lift. Good news indeed.

Still building nest for Duke and Duchess.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At least three eggs for Lipstick and Guy.

[Trick-or-Treat Stevens]

I found this old news video about the Hanover Eagle nest, the one Duke and Duchess are frequenting and Liberty and Freedom nested in.

The money was raised as we can see today.

[Trick-or-Treat Stevens]

We're still waiting on eggs from Duke and Duchess.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Keeping a lookout the nest with Lipstick and Guy.

[Trick-or-Treat Stevens]

Duchess has laid an egg.

[Trick-or-Treat Stevens]

Duke and Duchess looking at their new egg.

Early morning stretch and egg roll.

[Trick-or-Treat Stevens]

There is some concern that Duke is such a young eagle he don't know he has to sit on the egg as well. Duchess is doing her part but he needs to site on the egg if it as any chance if success.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All seems well with Lipstick and Guy. They are pros and I think have three eggs to date.

1, 2, 3 eggs.

[Trick-or-Treat Stevens]

Duchess spots a squirrel.

It seems only Duchess tends to the eggs which is concerning.

I noticed that nest has been empty for short times whilst Duchess has a break, I hope Duke catches on that we need him to sit on that egg. We could do with Guy from the other nest showing him the way.

I love the view from this nest, it look like Duchess is sat on the top of the world .. its such a glorious wide view. The cameras are good on this nest too, they seem to be closer to the eagles.

I've just peeped in on them and the nest was empty again apart from the egg, .. come on Duke get with it!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1, 2, 3 eggs.

Aw look how gentle Lipstick is near those precious eggs :love5: .. she is carefully keeping those razor sharp claws away.

Here comes Guy with more fresh bedding for his woman ..

"Honey I'm home!"

He is so attentive and takes his fatherly duties very seriously.

Its great to be back on 'egg-watch' again

[Trick-or-Treat Stevens]

Duke still hasn't learned to sit on the eggs while Duchess is away. I hope somehow these eggs make it.

Lipstick and Guy are a great team.

I have heard on a number of occasions not all species are born with a innate understanding infant husbandry. Humans being one example.
