Oh that's really cool that "The Minute Waltz" had so many air playes on the radio, i was really suprised that this short song had a single release so i was really happy when i found this song on vinyl as a 7-inch single.Barbra's The Minute Waltz was played a lot on the radio back in the day, but it's hard to track down now.

And i also bought Sheena Easton's cd boxset "Modern Girl - The Complete EMI recordings: Volume 1" (5 studio albums with many bonus-tracks)
I hope you will get this boxset @Mel O'Drama, the boxset is indeed very nice to have and the cd's sounds very amazing and the booklet is a nice read. I only wish the album covers would be more like the original albums covers, but overall i love this boxset, i can't wait hearing the extra bonus-tracks. I hope we don't have to wait to long for volume 2.This looks really nice. I wasn't aware of this set but now I think I might end up getting it myself one of these days.
I just bought Barbra Streisand's new album "The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume 2"
Thanks for the link to this artical it was a very intressting artical to read, i never knew that about "Lay Lady Lay" was written as a tribute to Barbra Streisand. No sooner did I read this:
than I happened to read this:
The entire idea of a new Barbra Streisand duets album in 2025 isn’t the easiest thing to wrap your head around, but the strangest thing about it was almost certainly the inclusion of a song with Bobby D, whose voice simply isn’t built to share space with Babs’. Streisand feels the same way. Last week, Streisand told The New York Times that Dylan sent her flowers with a card back in the ’70s: “In childish handwriting in different-color crayons, he wrote ‘Would you sing with me?’ I thought, ‘What the hell am I going to sing with Bob Dylan?'”
Streisand says she warmed to the idea when she learned that Dylan wrote “Lay Lady Lay” for her, and she noticed when he recorded three albums of standards. In a Billboard interview, Streisand says how she considered the idea of singing with Dylan:
'The interesting thing is that I saw it as an acting piece. It’s two different people, how they were feeling each other out: what kind of emotions are going on when two people have known of each other for such a long time but never met. It was wonderful to work with him, actually. I did my part earlier in the day, and it worked out perfectly with his. I’m ever the director. And he wanted direction, which was so lovely: “What do you think? What do you want?” He just was so open to trying this or trying that. It was really easy.'
The two of them came together on a version of the old standard “The Very Thought Of You,” and their version is awfully soft and tender. It’s much less jarring than what I guess I was expecting.
Here's a promo video that i found on Youtube today from this boxset. This looks really nice. I wasn't aware of this set but now I think I might end up getting it myself one of these days.

Okay, i hope the price will drop more, i payed 43,95 euro's for this boxset while it was first 59,95 euro's.Thanks. I'll probably wait until it's been out for a while, but it's certainly on my radar now.
The original covers looks almost the same but with a different twist like her albums "Madness Money & Music" and her first album "Take My Time" is a good example how the orignal album covers looks like. Yes i read on a forum someone said that those pictures where never used before.I wasn't familiar with the originals so had to look this up. It's interesting to see they've used alternative poses from the photoshoots of each album's cover. I quite like this idea, as I imagine many of these images never get used otherwise.

I have a few favorite Sheena Easton albums, my most favorites are "A Private Heaven" - "Best Kept Secret" - No Sound But A Heart" and "No Sound But a Heart". but i like all her albums every album has at least a few songs that i really love.Do you have a favourite album or era? I don't know much about Sheena's work outside of the hits, but looking at the track list for the set, I recognised more than I thought I would.
Yes that's right the album "A Private Heaven" was released before her Spanish album "Tody Me Recuerda A Ti" but i think "A Private Heaven" will be apear on the second Volume 2 cd-boxset because of the many bonus-tracks, but i think it's also a sell trick so that people will also buy the second box set.Looking at her discography, it seems there's an album missing from the sequence - A Private Heaven. I'd guessed perhaps it's because EMI America was a different label to EMI, but Todo Me Recuerda A Ti was released on another label again and that's here.
I wasn't aware of this boxset either until i was on the website of Cherry Records and discover about this upvoming new releases, so i was really suprised as well. This looks really nice. I wasn't aware of this set but now I think I might end up getting it myself one of these days.

more and more songs are really growing on me that i didn't like the first time wheni hear them.
Yes it was a bargain indeed so i pre-ordeded it right away, because i was affraid it would be sold out or the price could be going up,That's a decent saving. It's always nice to feel you've got a bargain when it's something you want to buy anyway.
Yes there is a lot of songs to be discover, including some nice un-released songs, and Sheena's version of "Out Here On My Own" from the movie Fame sung by Irene Care is really beautifulOh, that's interesting. They're three albums where I recognise hardly any of the songs. And with the songs I know on Best Kept Secret, I'm not familiar with Sheena's versions. Seems there'll be a lot to discover.
Yes me too, because mostly i only listen to her songs that i know or got my attention right away that i listen too, but with Sheena Easton it's really worth to discover also the other unknown songs.I like when this happens, and often find the ones that take a while to grow are the ones I end up liking most.

Sheena's version of "Out Here On My Own" from the movie Fame sung by Irene Care is really beautiful
Thanks, sometimes you have to follow your heart, and just jump on the things you want so much.Good move. You have to jump on these bargains while they're still bargains.![]()
I just had a listen to a live version on YouTube. It's very nice, and quite different from the versions I've heard before.
Sheena also sang a beautiful version of "Wind Beneath My Wings" and it was years before Bette Midler recorded this song, i really love Sheena's version i think it might my favorite version of this song.
Yes it is a lovely song indeed. I love the build up from this song.I just had a listen to the studio version of this one, and yes... it's really lovely.
