In a nutshell I wanted a classic fitted suit with a peplum and a big white hat and veil. I don't like the jacket and balloon sleeves and a few other things. Looks like Nicollette is wearing her ensemble to the will reading? Where could that building be?Come on... it's the big hat, it's the sunglasses, the handbag... black and white...what more do you want? I think it's okayish... for CW's Dynasty.

On closer inspection I think the black and white outfit may be more than meets the eye. I think it's a suit with the high-waist pencil skirt, a blouse, a short cropped bolero jacket with balloon sleeves, and over the top of that a longer sleeveless sort of long waistcoat that actually transforms the bolero into a long coat/jacket. I think it could end up looking better.

I loved when Paige showed up on Knots Landing, she was like a little mini Alexis. Wearing picture hats out to lunch and being all kinds of fabulous.

I wonder if that's her first scene and they are reading Tom Carrington's will...
Looks like the large majority of the episode is going to be centered around Grandpa Carrington's death, possibly adjacent with the Colby subplot that is probably going to be wrapped up soon. So I guess Monica & Cecil will most likely be written off the show and yet Jeff's staying? Are they still going to be doing the whole Fallon/Michael/Jeff love triangle story arc even with the whole Alexis storyline going on on the front lines? Is Fallon basically going to be stuck with Jeff for the whole season?
Also, with the whole sudden death thing, I wonder if Grandpa Carrington's death might be a result of a massive heart attack or a stroke.

Wouldn't it be a (mortifying) hoot if we found out that Tom C died of a heart attack while "in the saddle"---with his ex daughter-in-law Alexis, and he left her a big chunk of Carrington-Atlantic? He said he had always liked her...maybe he was understating how much! It would ~sort of~ follow the original with Alexis's death-bed marriage/inheritance from Cecil Colby, and just the sort of last laugh I'd expect from the character we met earlier.

THAT would be a juicy and genuinely 2018 Dynasty kind of twist we're all (well I, at least...) desperately expecting! But they wouldn't dare... No way... This one has no guts... The "old" Dynasty used to be bolder than this marshmallow reboot considering it took place 30 years ago...
Let's give the stuff to the (late, unfortunately) Nip/Tuck staff and this D. is gonna be a D. for devil and it is gonna rock big time...
If I may quote Dame Alexis Joan Carrington Collins Colby Newley Dexter Kass Rowan etc. etc. this show is "sweet". But certainly not vicious...

I really agree with this. It's teen soap fodder. They wont take any serious risks with it, Steven is proof of that. He's more or less the same as he was in the mid '80s. This Dynasty wants to be seen as modern and forward thinking but really it's just not on the right network for that. It's still very conservative I think.

Yes, I do agree (and I'm serious for once) it's not the right network. Obviously. Dynasty was an adult show. This is the main problem I think... They hardly know who's the show is "designed" for... And if they thought they knew, they're wrong.
