...and just like that our beloved Pam mysteriously disappeared. I know at the time fans (including me) were screaming out for closure on the character but all these years later I could have lived with the fact the mystery surrounding Pam was never answered.

And thank you @Garry for your continued devotion in uploading these snippets of our favourite series in beautiful HD. This looks like it was filmed yesterday and it remains just as fresh.

Yes, but many of us were never for "closure" on Pam, then or now, but simply more acknowledgement. Sure, there was Jeanne O'Brien and all that, but the show got the balance wrong in how they handled Pam's exit and disappearance. It often felt like they were ignoring Pam and her memory, even though -- technically -- they did address it here-and-there. But it seemed grudging and somehow just not enough.

I also agree (as I've said on other threads) that I also prefer that Pam's disappearance be turned into an unresolved mystery, one which slowly developed in the background, where certain red herring are tossed out there so the audience are allowed to construct a scenario that makes sense, based on bits and pieces of information, but is never concretely wrapped up. (Again, it's getting the balance right that could make that work).

Two of the things I liked that nuDALLAS did were in the last-half of Season 2, "JR's masterpiece" and "oldPam's death" -- yes, I would quibble about some of the details, but it was the closest the sequel series ever came to living up to its monumental potential in reviving the old chestnut.

And, yes, I defend my "she may have died of neurofibromatosis, so she was really Digger's daughter after all" idea. That's the only real closure we need.

April dies in HD.
Wow. I should be watching this scene with a sense of dread but instead I'm seeing it as comedy gold. By this stage Dallas really had hit rock bottom. Everything about this scene is overstated including the music. Close your eyes and you'd think you were watching some crime show or possibly Star Trek. It then drifts into saxophone, vomit-inducing, bordering on soft porn music reminiscent of the early years of Dallas whenever Sue Ellen entered stage left.

Yikes.

For realsies... And why wouldn't you have the irrepressible Johnny Parker score your episodes shot it France, a la Délivrance Salut Haw?

It could have been DALLAS' equivalent of the Moldavian Massacre (with hopefully a better follow-up) but that's not quite what happened, is it? The remaining cartel members, the ones not yet axe-murdered by Lady Jessica the previous season, could succumb to a hail of bullets, while Miss Ellie's stunt double does a couple of back flips to dive away from all the gunfire.

But then I would have had Bobby marry Tracey Lawton, with April their jealous stalker who follows them both to Yurrup. Both women killed in the carnage, freeing up Bobby to date and ultimately marry Afton, which just pisses off Cliff Barnes who's been busy chasing after Michelle to get her piece of the company.

I stole "Yurrup" from somebody here. It's just exactly right. But I've secured the copyright and, as such, no one will receive a dime in residuals. Other than myself, of course.

I remember the similar "Yurp" being a thing for a while, which I recall (and Collins dictionary bears out) comes from George W. Bush's pronunciation.

This has stoked my memory banks and I've inexplicably just remembered the The Queen Of Yurp from I Am Weasel.

Fortunately, "Yurrup" is just different enough to make sure you keep those residuals coming in.

"Yurp" is for syndication.

Does it need to be in about a hundred threads before that?

Big 80's hair in HD.

Someone once told me he watched the scene as a child while receiving a haircut from his babysitter and was left with a lifelong haircutting fetish as a result.
