I could be wrong but the fact that he put the bomb so close to J.R. for him to find and wrote “BOOM” on the bedroom door gives me the impression it wasn’t supposed to go off. If he really wanted to bomb the place at that point he could’ve done it much easier than that. B.D. was enjoying the fun of it all.

I’m surprised no one’s mentioned Vaughn Leland yet.

Kristin would be another prime suspect, perhaps if she had survived and could tell us that it was all really an attempt to murder her. Maybe her theory at this point would’ve been shooting him didn’t work, so let’s try bombing him next.

Phyllis just because she’d be the most unlikely suspect and, well, I’d like her to have a major storyline. Can you really trust a woman that can’t boil water?

Charlie in season 10 because she was at that rebellious teenage stage.

Wes as revenge for no one believing him. Would’ve been the perfect cliffhanger for season 10 and obviously he’s the biggest suspect but no one can find him as he has gone missing.

They never did share a scene together, did they? They could’ve been quite the pairing. J.R. would’ve had his hands full with those two.

Wes wouldn't have planted a bomb on Southfork, he had to have been the real Jock Ewing all along. He saved the ranch a long time ago, there's no way he would ever damage it intentionally.

I could imagine a scenario where Phyllis offers to substitute for a vacationing Teresa one night as a favor to Bobby and ends up accidentally blowing up Southfork in a failed attempt to boil water
