Does anyone else find Jenna Wade's weird obsession with Bobby out of place?

What happened?
All I've heard her reveal was that "someone" on the Dallas set made her uncomfortable. My best guess would be that it was Larry, I could see him making a lewd joke or pass that crossed the line with her since he pulled the totally inappropriate stunt of stuffing a banana down his pants and drooling at Mary Crosby. Whatever happened, it must have been significant enough that the money just wasn't worth it to her.

That surprises me. I guess from the bloopers and old photos one would assume Larry's antics were taken in good faith from most of the cast.

But that's a very misjudged assumption and not representative of everyone involved. Even those that appeared to laugh may well not have been laughing on the inside.

You do realize that what you are suggesting is that Bobby and Pam use Jenna as a surrogacy to be able to have his natural baby?

That is not fair to Jenna. It is her body. She has every right to decide if she wants to go through a pregnancy to have a child or not!
If Bobby and Pam had wanted more children they certainly had the means to obtain them prior to Jenna's pregnancy. I'm not certain Pam wanted another baby as much as she wanted the baby Jenna was going to have, as obtaining the child would get rid of Jenna. That Bobby thought this was OK pretty much shows he didn't have a problem with using Jenna.

Well Bobby didn't think that what Pam had done was ok. But he understood why she had done it and that it came from a place of love for him. But yes if Jenna had agreed to let Bobby and Pam take her baby it would have gotten rid of Jenna and Pam very much wanted Jenna out of the picture. What sort of sucks is that in that season Bobby wanted his baby so much. Then the next season when Lucas was born and Pam was gone, Bobby didn't care about Lucas anymore. He gave up the right to see his son because he wanted to put Christopher first. So I guess when it comes right down to it Jenna wanted the baby more than Bobby did!

And that's why I grew up thinking Ray was my Dad until my Mom (Jenna) took me aside and told me that my real father was Bobby Ewing.

It's why I've issues with my real parents. I don't live with Jenna and Ray anymore. I live with my half brother Christopher, my step mother Pamela Barnes Ewing Graison and her husband Mark.

We're all as far away from Dallas, Texas and the Ewing's as we could get! :)

I want to love this character, but I just can't. I think it has more to do with I like Priscilla Presley, so I want to like Jenna. I just can't get over the low-key manipulative, self-serving side of the character that people ignore. Or may be it's that the writer's tried and failed to write that part of her character out of the story just a little too late.
I think the issue is that when they re-introduced her for the third time they were obviously still writing as if Morgan was still in the part - it became fairly obvious to me in hindsight when watching those scenes. If you imagine Morgan playing scenes like when Bobby comes over and offers to buy her that store and she "refuses", Morgan probably would've played it like Jenna was manipulating Bobby (and I feel this was the intent). Priscilla however played it straight-forward (or rather flat), so it just came across as Jenna was just saying no to it.

I think they eventually realised that Priscilla simply couldn't play low-key manipulative and conniving that Morgan does so well, so they just re-wrote the Jenna character... again. Which made the character even more of a mess because somehow the character had now been re-written like three times.

Mark is presumed dead. Pam was confirmed dead. No way did Christopher survive that explosion, so we can assume that he's dead.

We saw Bobby knocked down by Katherine Wentworth and then in the final scene of season eight he died on screen.

Let's not forget that infamous end of season cliffhanger from season nine because there he was as large as life in the shower!

"Presumed" is just that, a death certificate can be faked, and we didn't actually see that Christopher was in the car. Just saying ...

After so many years, I'm sure Mark has been declared dead. Pam is confirmed dead. It definitely looked like Christopher got in that car that exploded.

I never thought Bobby showed much concern for Lucas. He had a very unhealthy desire to stalk Jenna and Charlie, talk about weird obsessions. I believe Jenna knew this and wanted Bobby kept away. I wish someone had shoved Ray in the swimming pool when he whined to Jenna to let Bobby see Lucas.

Bobby tried to have a rational discussion with Jenna about the pregnancy, but she turned into an irrational screaming shrew., which was not in Lucas 's best interest. He did the right thing for Lucas's sake by not marrying Jenna just because she was pregnant, it would have been a huge mistake. Bobby was willing to take responsibility and had the emotional and financial resources to raise the baby, but Jenna wouldn't even involve him in the decision about whether she was going to terminate the pregnancy or not. But yet he still stepped up to the plate and got Jenna to the hospital when she went into labor. And what does Jenna do? She makes things even worse for Lucas by marrying Bobby's brother and making a play for Bobby when she finally does allow him to see Lucas. But again Bobby does the right thing for Lucas's sake and makes the sacrifice of letting Ray raise him as his own. Jenna was the one who never "showed any concern" for her children, she led Charlie to believe that Bobby was her father and never did anything in Charlie or Lucas's best interest.

I never saw Bobby have a rational discussion with Jenna. I did see him harass her the day after he married Pam, but his major concern was why wasn't he told. No concern for either Jenna or Lucas. Why would she involve Bobby in anything. He had no place in her life anymore. As she said Go back to your bride.

And I never saw Bobby "harass" Jenna. I did see him want to discuss the pregnancy with Jenna, which he had every right to as the father. As he said, "Shouldn't we talk?" It didn't matter that Bobby "had no place in HER life", he did have a place in LUCAS'S life. It was in Lucas's best interest to have Bobby involved in his life and decide for himself if he wanted to continue to have a relationship with Bobby when he was old enough. Again, Jenna's "major concern" was always only for herself, not what was best for her children. Tom Brady and Bridget Monahan are an excellent example of both parents doing what's right for an unexpected child and making co-parenting work. I'm sure that Bridget wasn't exactly thrilled that the father of her child married a supermodel instead of her, but she did the right thing for their son and let Tom be be as involved in his life as he wanted. Tom took responsibility and has been a very involved dad to their son, but didn't make the mistake of marrying Bridget just because they had a child together. And they both proudly share and celebrate their son's accomplishments with each other. That's what Bobby was trying to work towards with Jenna, but she was far too self-centered and bitter to allow it.

The way he dumped Jenna was wrong, but Jenna was being selfish in not wanting Bobby to have anything to do with "their" child. Come to think of it, what was Jenna's deal when it came to her children and Bobby?
