Miss Ellie at her most absurd.

Her worst I’d say was when she gave John Ross back to Sue Ellen instead of getting on that chopper. J.R. had gone through all that trouble to come up with the perfect plan and he was right when he said no one was going to shoot her.

Just go along with the kidnapping. What’s the big deal? Didn’t she remember how she ended up raising Lucy? Talk about ingrates!
She learned from her mistake of allowing J.R. to take Lucy away from Valene and did the right thing for John Ross's sake. That's what the big deal was.

As well as her "drunk" scene Miss Ellie in Survival was just bad.
She babied Jock so much and wouldn't tell him about the plane going down. She thought she was protecting him after his surgery.
She had everyone keeping it quiet and almost accepted she would lose JR and Bobby and was determined not to lose Jock.
She dished out orders of how they should behave.

She wouldn't allow Pam to be seen with a tear stained face and dinner was awkward with the women lying to Jock. He found out eventually in a far worse way (Miss Ellie redeeming herself with the gun scene)

Must just say in Runaway when Miss Ellie saw Jock drinking club soda, when she walked off Jock said to the barman, "put a couple of shooters of bourbon in there before I arrest my stomach" :)

Miss Ellie advising Sue Ellen to do whatever she has to do to have a child and to "leave Jock to me".

Infact most of her "chats" with Sue Ellen, I could go on but this post would be way too long and I actually love Miss Ellie (most of the time)

Oh, I was just having a little fun with that post. I certainly wasn’t condoning kidnapping and I do love Miss Ellie for the most part but I wonder if she was younger and up for raising another grandchild would she have given John Ross back to Sue Ellen so quickly? I always get a kick out of how you can see her struggling with her decision in that scene.

Basically, everything after Jock's will.
The lowest point was that ridiculous, terrible Jessica Fletcher story.
BBG was a fine actress, but the Miss Ellie character was increasingly reduced to a plot device.

I wonder how Pam would’ve felt about that? Would she have agreed with Miss Ellie’s thinking? Or would she feel it was a huge mistake and would backfire given the past?
Oh, I think Pam would have been all for it at first and gushed about how proud she was of Cliff. Then, only after Cliff screwed up or drama started with the Ewings, she would have whined and complained about how it affected HER.
