JR might have never pulled the trigger, but he was directly or indirectly responsible for numerous deaths.
But at least he had the decency to get Edgar flowers after he drove him to attempt suicide. I always thought that was big of him.

Ya, watching Season 10, I noticed several odd things. Pam yells a lot. She has never annoyed me, I enjoyed her being the gadfly, the one who points out the BS, but this season she is off.... she is screechy and accusatory. Even her rows with JR are nearly unbearable.
This entire season is.....off.... Cliff too is worse than ever. One day he's a brilliant businessman, then he's begging Pam for money and switching deals on Windell. Right now he has Jaime's 10% of Ewing Oil and he's acting a fool.

As for Jack, why wasn't he integrated better? Have him fill the spot left by Gary... the rebel, the rough house, drinker, gambler?

I will never understand why Cliff didn't get the 2/3rds of Ewing Oil. It was a good entrance for Jack, but that could have sustained the series for 3 or 4 more good years instead of the sleepy shit we got. Imagine JR the shark is awakened and schemes and plots his way back to the top and SOLE owner of Ewing Oil....

The final freeze frame should have been JR, smiling back on top owning Ewing Oil!

I’ve always had mixed feelings on this one. Of course I felt Bobby and Pam belonged together but I would’ve had no problem with Bobby and Jenna marrying. It would’ve caused a lot more drama between Bobby and Pam and Pam and Jenna as well. I’ve always said some of the very best scenes with PD and VP were when their characters were separated or divorced.
I would like to have seen Bobby and Jenna marry. Bobby remarrying Pam was repetition.
The same Barnes-Ewing feud of the first 5 years.
This could have been a different way to approach it.

And it made no sense. Why would Pam want to go through that again?
It never made sense to me that Pam would even want to live at the ranch again. In reality it was only a few months after J.R. manipulated her search for Mark. Pam and Bobby remarrying is more than fine with me but I would’ve preferred them living elsewhere. I know for a lot of people that may hurt the drama of them living at Southfork but considering all that happened over the years I think it was much more realistic.

They would still have family get togethers and Bobby would work at Ewing Oil so them not being at the ranch was fine. It made no sense how Pam could live with someone who did such shitty things. Ray didn't live there, but was seen plenty.

Yep. It made more sense. Imagine the drama of them marrying, Pam pines for him but can not have him. Charlie is revealed to be a Ewing.
It worked great for KL with Gary and Val who were established from the get-go- not married, but we still care for and will do anything for the other. Jenna would have been jealous of Pam and Bobby still friends. Mark was jealous too, could have brought him back for good... would have worked better than repeating it that led to nothing.
ALL of that plus Cliff owning 2/3rds of Ewing Oil.

I don't think Bobby and Jenna getting married would have worked.

First of all (and as @Crimson always points out), Jenna had no conflict with any of the Ewings. Even JR liked her. There would have been no drama created at Southfork due to her presence.

Secondly, Jenna (as played by PBP) was full and shrill and annoying. Marrying her to Bobby would have subjected us all to an increase in her screen time).

Dallas was a drama. Even though Jenna had no issues with the Ewing's, they would have created a conflict. As long as Pam was still around, Bobby and Jenna's marriage would always be teetering on dangerous ground.

I think the best way to go about it was perhaps making Charlie Bobby’s daughter. They could’ve started with that at least. That certainly would’ve strained things more between Pam and Jenna and Pam and Bobby.

I agree that J.R. liking Jenna creates an issue but I’m sure they could’ve undone that somehow. How long did J.R. ever really support anyone other than J.R.? Jenna could’ve gotten on his bad side at some point. Maybe they could’ve done something where he propositions her and she turns him down flat which leads to him then trying to get rid of her. Perhaps she could’ve even succumbed to him one night at Southfork after she and Bobby were married, or even before, and it becomes their secret. He could then use that secret to blackmail her down the road, all unbeknownst to Bobby. Pam could somehow even find out about J.R. and Jenna at some point, causing even more drama between all of them.

Finished Season 10! It started off very weak, got compelling with Paramalee, and had a good finish with the DOJ stuff. JR was a shark again when he realized he was being set up and recorded. Very clever.
Miss Ellie was an asshole in these final episodes, reading the boys the riot act. She's their mother- she would stick by them no matter what. NONE of them knew the extent of JR's doings so it made no sense for their outrage. Then when she starts crying and jerk off Clayton tore into JR, that was a load of shit. Clayton was worse of a character than Lucy. Shoved in there for no reason, a PLOT CHARACTER. He should have died off this season and made room for JOCK.
I never really disliked Mandy, but JR's fascination with her was dumb. Debra Shelton was a fine enough actor, just useless and her stuff always gets the fast-forward button.
I didn't find myself disliking April as much this time around. Although her constant smirk is annoying.
Jeremy Wendell was great as the bigger shark.
Two of the season's most obvious sticking points were Patrick and Victoria- BOTH felt off. Bobby is barely around while JR is getting in trouble and Pam screams and yells at Cliff and the Ewings. Victoria you could tell was tired. She was bored and written strangely. It's odd how she and Duffy both are NOT the same at the end of S8 and S10. NOT a long time between them yet so very different. I blame Hack Katzman. .

Some of you must be presidents of the JR fan club. JR was dealing with a very dangerous terrorist and he could have gotten them all killed and Bobby stood right beside him, so he's not innocent. The Whole family could have been indicted because of JR's BS. Miss Ellie is supposed to be OK with that?

Like Miss Ellie or don't, she was 100% right to read JR and Bobby the riot act after they had made a mockery of the company her husband and their father founded. Yes, she was their mother, but there's got to be limits on what you'll put up with.

Good points, although maybe a bit more context could be helpful.

Bobby did not know until episode 18, I believe,
and the damage had been done.
Bobby was in a difficult situation. His options were limited at best,
and maybe the result would have been the same - the end of Ewing Oil.

Miss Ellie- JR and Bobby did not have the same role in the events.
The problem is that Miss Ellie had no problem when Jock and JR (and Bobby)
made ruthless decisions on behalf of Ewing Oil, and she benefitted with a life of Wealth and privilege.
And the observation that Jock was above ruthless, less than ethical behaviour - completely hypocritical and wrong

The Mandy stuff at the end of season ten was just stupid. I hated how Sue Ellen got all insecure after seeing her be so confident earlier in the season. There was no reason to bring Mandy back. Sue Ellen was jealous, yelled at JR a couple of times, fired the woman, and then was never mentioned again.

Bobby explained to Pam that he stood right there and did nothing while he knew JR was up to no good.

As for Miss Ellie. She had a glorified view of Jock. I'm not going to say that she was totally a "Bambi in the woods" per se, but she really didn't know just how ruthless her husband was. When she once said, "Jock would never...." JR responded, "You have no idea what daddy has done." Or something to that effect. When Donna told her about Jock and Sam Culver, Miss Ellie was like "My Jock would never...."

Again, Miss Ellie wasn't totally blind and she knew that they weren't perfect, but I don't think she was privy to a lot of the things Jock and later JR was doing.

That was a good observation about what JR told Miss Ellie, and what Donna wrote
