Dallas Couples JR & Sue Ellen - Swoonalicious Appreciation Thread

I understand why you would feel that way. With age comes wisdom and people do mellow but a big part of their appeal to me was when they were at each other’s throats. To me that’s what made them so much fun. It was part of their charm.

I wouldn’t have cut that scene either. I would’ve kept both to be honest. As far as their story goes it shows both ends of the spectrum perfectly.

I don’t like the idea of them dating other people at this point either. If ur gonna reunite them, then reunite them but the whole dating other people to make each other jealous thing wouldn’t have made sense at this point. They were both well past that.
I still can't believe the barbecue deleted scene wasn't put on the DVD and is probably in TV Heaven somewhere that we will never see.

I would have reconciled them during the run of the show because I think their fans deserved to see them reunite, but I would have done it in the first 3 or 4 episodes and made it clear that they had both mellowed over the years and had developed a somewhat friendly relationship.

So many possibilities were squandered on TNT.

It's a shame.

Especially because Larry's health was failing.

Yeah it's really a shame how the showrunner of TNT didn't understand what the fans wanted to see before @Sarah enlighted her of it. But sadly by then season one was already filmed and whatever they had planned for the end of season two was never filmed. So it just got too late for a JR/SE reconciliation. :(

I was sure the BBQ scene would have been included on the DVD among the deleted scenes at least. I don't get how they could not include it. I mean they used the promo photo from it a lot!

Where is this scene? We still want to watch it!

Yeah, whoever made the decision to leave this scene sitting in storage somewhere rather than putting it on the DVD is clearly in no way a fan of the show. The DVD wasn't exactly packed with memorable features that couldn't have been bumped off if space was an issue on the discs either.

I love the idea of JR and Sue Ellen reuniting somehow during the first season of TNT’s Dallas even though I wasn’t fan of the continuation. It didn’t feel like Dallas to me at all. It is sad that we didn’t to see JR and Sue Ellen reconcile one last time before Larry Hagman died in 2012.

Cynthia Cydre should have made that her number one priority especially since Larry's health was declining.

I don´t know if this is the right thread to post this, but I thought that the French fans of Linda Gray might be interested in it. It´s the French-dubbed version of "Broken Pledges". Sadly reality imitated fiction with her son´s death, which also happens (in the beginning so no spoilers) in this TVM.

Thanks for sharing @Toni "Broken pledges" is absolutely heart breaking. Linda does a great job at portraying the mother's grief. The worst part about it is that it's one of those movies based on a true story. So this woman really lost her son due to a stupid college hazing practise. :(

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all the Americans who celebrates it. :)

Thanks @Mrs Bobby James Ewing

Also if anyone has missed it Dallas Fanzine has posted some great joint Larry and Linda interviews over the holidays on their facebook. There's an interview with Joan Rivers that I hadn't seen before and the Wogan Christmas special from 1986 has been reposted too! :)
My favourite ever interview. I remember being 10 years old and being allowed to stay up late on Christmas Eve to watch it.

That's great @Sarah
I think the memories we have connected to watching the show or the cast has made Dallas even more special to us over the years.

I agree it's a great interview. Although I did enjoy the Wogan Then & Now interview from 2006 even more. I'm sure you know why! :spinning:;):pals:

Why? Because Patrick was included?
