So many tv shows

Perfect Strangers - another silly Odd Couple in disguise
Mama's Family - not funny in the least, completely silly
Rhoda - not terrible, but when compared to her role in MTM, lackluster
Friends - self-absorbed unlikable people
Cheers post Shelly Long - without Nicolas Colasanto seemed to lose warmth and nuance
SNL - has become of parody of what it once was

Almost every remake of once popular tv series,
except for "All Creatures Great and Small" and "Hawaii Five-O"

I cannot agree with this. MAMA'S FAMILY is, for me, genuinely funny. I really enjoy that show.

Also can't quite agree here, either. While I'm not the biggest fan of CHEERS, I do like a lot of the episodes post-Shelley Long. Kirstie Alley was a breath of fresh air.

I always assumed that my lack of interest/affinity for Seinfeld was because it was written by (and produced for) a certain demographic--that of the New York/urban dweller. Some shows are produced to be viewed by a wide group, while others are more "targeted"---and that's okay. I mean, I know some people would find shows I like to be equally un-interesting, but I don't take offense.
I don't find it "all that" either but it does have a fan base beyond that community. It's amazing how many people can quote scenes from it. - But then I quote Get Smart and The Marx Brothers, so to each their own.

That's alright, I like to hear other perspectives on these shows.

Interesting; why do you like the newer versions of those shows?

Camping - it is basically pretending to be homeless
I’m with you on this. Never saw the point in sleeping outside in the woods with the bugs and and the wildlife when I can be inside.

Golf - a game, not a real sport
I used to feel the same way until I started playing it a little myself. I find it can be difficult yet very enjoyable at the same time so I can see it as a sport I guess.

Forrest Gump - basically a big screen version of Gomer Pyle
That’s actually pretty funny! Personally it’s one of my favorites but I know a lot of people that feel differently. Usually I’ll hear from people that they liked it well enough back then but it doesn’t hold up well now.

Rap/Hip Hop - not real music
I’ve never enjoyed most of it myself. I can appreciate that others do but it’s never really appealed to me personally.
