The 3d season package could be even more interesting for Neflix: I'm reading in a German forum (rather not soap- or Dynasty heavy) from people who haven't seen Nu- Dynasty before and are not familiar with the OG. They watch it now because they didn't like the weekly uploads!

The Fallon-Liam-thing, as I mentioned before, is a real thing for them - they like the show (people in their 20's to 30's) and they expect more Crystals as they believe it's a soap must that got just parodied! It's almost as if they're watching another Dynasty, not the one we criticize. But I like the enthusiasm.

New viewers thanks to binge watching and a different understanding? The series has the No.2 spot on Netflix Germany...

I'd assume that a huge part of why they switched from weekly uploads to uploading the season all at once was because they ended up analyzing how people preferred to watch Dynasty and they must've seen it was binged more than watched weekly.

Honestly, considering the mediocre US ratings I think going top ten there is an achievement considering it has to compete with all other shows. I think some other CW shows didn't even show up in the US top ten.

I think it will matter more about the length of time the show stays on these charts. Hitting #3 or better for one week, then dropping like a stone isn't all that impressive when you have to consider this is the only 'bump' the bean-counters will see all year. The lack of promotion on the CW (and the horrific time slot) will keep it in the "regular" ratings doldrums, so this moment in the sun at Netflix is likely the only notoriety they will ever enjoy. I hope it is extended as far as possible to show it has "legs".

Well, Dynasty is still at #3 in the worldwide chart, so I'd say it has legs. It's also the only CW show currently charting on the WW chart too:

Makes perfect sense to me. The whole appeal of netflix is that it offers series in a different format than TV. And maybe we should also consider the fact that European/Australian viewers are not accustomed to the American interpretation of "weekly" uploads.

And maybe we've overrated the idea that the new episodes as broadcast by the CW, and consequently, spoilers on social media, would work against NuDYNASTY.

Yes. I thought that spoilers would damage the late Netflix availability. I was wrong (and I don't mind as long as I learn something)

I figured the viewers outside the US would rapidly lose interest when they announced the whole series would be released in "June". I thought they would not be interested enough to seek the show out via "questionable" sources during the airing of the season, which was why I decided to write synopses of each episode as I viewed it on the CW rather than just writing comments and veiled hints about what they'd been seeing (and discussing) the next day. I figured this would be the only way some international members would learn what happened. I was wrong, too. And so glad to be!

The third week: 'The Binge Report' lists Dynasty at No. 2. And how cheap they got it (I assume) compared to their exclusive series Space Force, which didn't get the critical raves they expected with Steve Carrell and John Malkovich.

It was skating on the line of satirizing musical episodes, given the set-up and the cheese factor. Adam accidentally tripped the gas going to two of the fireplaces in the house--one in a living-room area, and the other in the room above--which happened to be Fallon's room. We saw the trip of the gas main but they did not foreshadow anything happening. Fallon was spending more time in her room than usual, thus she got the most exposure to the gas. The direction was such that it was not immediately obvious anything was wrong with her. She was talking to (okay, arguing with) Adam and Blake, and then suddenly they burst into song. It wasn't framed as Fallon having a hallucination; it was just a WTF? moment as she moved on. Those kind of moments started happening with increasing frequency after/during periods spent too long in her room. The only "real" song was when Fallon sang to Liam over the phone (while in her room)....so it was HIS turn for the WTF face.
The author of the article was kind enough to omit the name of the cast member who didn't impress with her singing. It appears cristal clear to me that she was probably directed to sing poorly, since it was funnier to have that difficult-to-sing song done poorly in a party atmosphere. They were at a point where the 'joke' of these characters singing randomly that they had to raise the comic factor by having her butcher the song (and without any sort of embarrassment!). Besides, Fallon strikes me as the type who would, even in hallucinations, imagine herself to be singing beautifully while others around her aren't nearly as good.

Yeah, the writing really sucks. The cast is fine, the budget is decent, as is the envoirnment. But they need to give them more interesting things to do with all that. Sounds a lot like OG Dynasty. :D

The one thing the Gillieathon has done better than real DYNASTY is location shooting. Whereas original DYNASTY eventually became claustrophobic and agoraphobic, the peach version is always out in the open air, and even their inside shoots do not look like cardboard creations. What/how are they doing better? Clearly their budget is but a fraction of the original. And yet...

They likely aren't wasting their limited budget on having real caviar and champagne on the set and stupid things like having the knobs on Alexis's penthouse barstools in real gold. Ie priorities.
