Well, to help pass the time, I'll tell you a story.
Back in the mid-90s, I was on holiday with a friend at Las Brisas Resort and Villas in pre-crime-ridden Acapulco. The resort was amazing and the villas had their own private pools that overlooked the Bay of Acapulco:
Also, guests could rent pink jeeps with different celebrity names on them, celebrities who have stayed at the resort. The resort also has jeeps shuttles who would cart guests up the hills and around the resort.
Also, I'm not sure if they still do it, but back then, when guests checked into the resort, they were provided with frozen pink margaritas. (I'm trying to stretch the story out since it's a long summer...)
So anyways...one night at the resort, my friend and I decided to eat at the restaurant on-site. Since we weren't going out into town to dine, we decided to just request a ride from one of the jeep shuttles. After dining, we requested a shuttle ride back to the villa. When the shuttle finally arrived, we sat in the back for about five minutes wondering why in the hell we weren't going anywhere. I looked out the back of the jeep and saw two women walking slowly, one of them with a cane. I impatiently waited for them to walk to the jeep. They just looked like ordinary middle-aged women. Until...one of the ladies opened her mouth. I instantly recognized her voice. It was DOMINIQUE DEVEREAUX herself, Diahann Carroll!! I didn't immediately recognize her because she wasn't wearing any makeup, but that voice was distinct.
I politely asked her and her lady friend how their evening was going which broke the ice and we got to chat for about 5 minutes. Apparently, Diahann had injured her leg while performing in Sunset Boulevard on Broadway and was recuperating at the resort (nice life). My impression of her was that she was very humble, yet appreciative of the fact that I recognized her.
Later that night, my friend and I hit the gay bars in Acapulco and I felt a little more special having gotten the opportunity to meet Diahann Carroll (whilst wearing my fake Versace shirt).

I've been watching "Big Little Lies". The first season felt reminiscent of "Knots Landing" and "Desperate Housewives" and this season is extremely reminiscent of the final season of "Desperate Housewives". Too bad they don't have Karen McCluskey willing to take the blame for them.

I've been watching a new soap called Ambitions. It's like Dallas meets The Young and the Restless. After three episodes it's a very soapy multi-generational soap that isn't ashamed of it's roots. In addition to the over the top one liners, the characters do seem incredibly well drawn and the storylines are well plotted. I'd love these writers to be in charge of Dynasty. This show is also set in Atlanta with Rich characters but it reflects the city so much better.

It's funny because I had a dream that Nicolette was returning to the show and they just put a latex mask/make-up on her face to make it look like Alexis had reconstructive surgery. I wonder if we'll hear soon about a new Alexis as it looks like they've officially started filming last week:
