When Jenna first returned played by PP... the character had a bit more of an edge and a backbone.. which PP played well. I think Morgan would have fought to keep Jenna that way.
Yes, on my rewatch I was surprised that PP's Jenna was harder-edged at first than I remembered. They should have brought Morgan back on TNT Dallas as an embittered Jenna backing Lucas's claim on Southfork.

I know she was already Jenna Wade, but she would have been great as Katherine Wentworth, or a smarter Holly Harewood.
Having said that, both Morgan Brittany and Lois Chiles played those roles quite well.
YEs as Katherine too, but I think she was perceived as too old for Katherine, still she would have been great!

One scene in particular is when Katherine goes to see her at work and tries to buy her off. Jenna saw right through her and her motives. Katherine wasn’t used to being outfoxed by other women.

So I'm pretty sure (but not positive) the answer to the question of "which show" is Falcon Crest. But IIRC they hedged their bets by not killing her off. It would have been easy to kill her off in the earthquake, but IIRC the character just left town, giving the option at least to being her back.

Hmmm... I guess I was thinking it was a bit earlier than that. Maybe not.

I don't know enough about BTS activities of Dallas to think that was the show. I assumed FC because 1984-85 seemed to be the height of AIDS hysteria/ignorance about the subject. Refusing to name the show was probably the better choice.

Had Laura Johnson given the exact same interview, I'd say we finally know why Terry had to die, but I'm skeptical about Morgan Fairchild. I think she's convinced it's her truth, but if she delved deeper into the state of Falcon Crest at the end of season 5 and the beginning of season 6, she'd realize that other circumstances led to her dismissal. Important characters (Cole, Terry) left, and most notably, Jordan's love interest, Greg left as well. What would Jordan's future have looked like, especially considering Kim Novak, who had a significant presence during season 6? Furthermore, according to a poll, Jordan is the one who most likely should have died in the earthquake: https://www.tellytalk.net/threads/who-should-have-died-in-the-earthquake.13589/ I think this story of being written out of a show because of her advocacy for AIDS patients sounds much better than the fact that they couldn't do anything with Jordan anymore.

I’d agree that Falcon Crest is probably the show that she’s referring to. Her one episode of Dallas was back in 1978, a few years before AIDS was first reported in the US press. Of the three shows that she was a regular/recurring on in the 80’s, Falcon Crest was the only one where her role didn’t end because of the show’s cancellation (unlike Flamingo Road and Paper Dolls).

However, I’d agree with @Monzo that Jordan was likely written off because she was surplus to requirements rather than it being anything to do with Fairchild’s activism but who knows.

On a recent episode of her podcast, Two B*tches From Texas, Morgan complained that when she joined Falcon Crest to do the incest storyline she was growing increasingly impatient with the producers for delaying starting it and instead she was doing a lot of sitting on Richard's desk discussing legal issues. I thought that was a curious comment because she was a new character who needed to be established in the show before viewers would be interested in a storyline that involved her away from the other characters on the show. I for one, would have had zero interest in her incest storyline if I didn't know anything about her character before they started it.
