You Before Me (2016).

A bit overly sentimental and clichéd but still a good film.

Unfortunately it didn't have the epic final moment as it was described in the novel.

Well, your comment made me curious about how the novel ends vs. the film. So I had a peek on Wikipedia.

I didn't find what I was looking for, but I did find this:

The Lonely Lady was heavily panned by critics. The film was nominated for 11 Golden Raspberry Awards and won six: Worst Actress, Worst Director, Worst Musical Score, Worst Original Song ("The Way You Do It"), Worst Picture, and Worst Screenplay. It was also nominated for a Razzie as Worst Picture of the Decade, but lost to Mommie Dearest, and as Worst Drama of the Razzies' First 25 Years, but lost to Battlefield Earth.

Zadora won Worst New Star of the Decade for this film along with Butterfly. She was also nominated for Worst Actress of the Century, but lost to Madonna.

The movie was nominated for a Stinkers Bad Movie Award for Worst Picture.

That's a whole lot of awards. lol

Lovely to Look At (1952) with Howard Keel, Kathryn Grayson, Ann Miller etc.
It was delightful even though the fashion parade at the end was a bit too long.

Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?

Last night was my first time watching. I wasn't sure what to expect, but if I had been it wouldn't have been this.

What a wonderful film. Appropriately play-like with long scenes and the limited cast.

The noirish realism was quite unexpected. It's as if Mike Leigh had re-written a Noël Coward version of Peyton Place, the series. And got Quentin Tarantino to direct it.

Taylor and Burton were better than I knew they had in them:

This scene gave me chills:

Interstellar- this one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It just ends up being complete and utter nonsense and an insult to anyone watching it. Horrible.

Galaxy Quest- I saw this again and it's just as funny as ever. This movie has not aged a "day" and it's just so much to watch. The script and actors are excellent.

Gatans Änglar (2016). I showed it to my mom, who actually liked it since it has a message. :)

I'm glad you've discovered "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" You know this is the movie that turned me into a Taylor-Burton fan. It made me discover them as actors and want to see more of their work. So well 8 years later and I've seen all of Elizabeth's movies. :)

I was very, very impressed with both of them. It's given me the desire to watch more of their films at some point. I've only seen a couple of Elizabeth's films, and I don't remember watching anything with Richard in before. I was struck by the similarity between his voice and Anthony Hopkins. Not surprising considering they were both born in Neath, Port Talbot. It's hard to shake that Welsh lilt. :D

I can recommend "The Taming of the Shrew" and "Cleopatra" if you haven't seen them before.
Yes he does have a bit of a Welsh in his English accent. :)

Once Is Not Enough

The first half was OK, not a great story but at least it was interesting to watch the characters and the seventies gear and sets.
But the second half, when the heroine (played by Deborah Raffin) got romantically involved with an older man, was extremely boring and it just went on and on.
Therefore it wasn't enjoyable in a so-bad-it's-good sort of way. It was just plain boring.
The ending was abrupt, but I've watched this on YT so I don't know if this was supposed to be a "Sopranos" effect or because the uploader failed the upload the entire movie (there were no end credits either).

I have no idea what the title has to do with this movie, but perhaps I've missed the deeper subtext.
