James Anderson is returning as Oliver Valentine for Holby City’s recently filmed last Christmas episode.

Amanda Mealing, currently on a break from Casualty (and has directed some Coronation Street episodes) has stated that she offered to return as Connie Beauchamp for the end of Holby City but a return appearance won’t be happening, as the show has to tie up storylines in a short time.

This is a nice idea. I guess some characters can only feature in social media clips in other soaps to be less disruptive to their normal filming schedules.
