It's silly in that regard, yes. But regardless of why he's uncomfortable using male pronouns, I still think he should have the right not to use them. He even said he was happy to call the student by his new name and to avoid using female pronouns, which sounds sufficient to me. He said he wasn't trying to provoke the student, which I believe. If he had been taunting him for being transgender, continued calling him a girl, or continued calling him by his previous name, his firing for discrimination and harassment would make much more sense to me.

The whole thing is preposterous. Jordan Peterson got a lot of flack for refusing to be forced to use gender pronouns and seems to be one of the few voices of reason amidst all this madness. There are many clips on YouTube where he discusses this at length but here's one of the shorter ones.

Just watched a TV 2-hour "Secrets and Lies" documentary on the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal on ABC. It was despicable. Dominated by right wing commenters, the show seemed to decide that only the licentious (especially male, as it's no longer kosher to blame the female participants) are to blame, and that the way everyone else acted is irrelevant.

It's all a fascinating blend of leftwing feminist extremism and conservative hypocritical bias arriving at the conclusion that consensual adult sexuality could still be criminalized (for the guy) after the fact, if we want it to.

It's always framed that way. Any time a sexual affair results in scandal or regret on the part of the woman, the man is to blame. Ironically, this narrative holds a sexist view of women. It infantilizes them by treating them as naive victims who are manipulated by mature, cunning predators. As if women are incapable of seducing men or willingly engaging in sex.

It's also fascinating how an affair has a better chance of bringing a politician down than illegal actions taken while in office. Strange, since nobody dies from a blowjob.

When it comes to politics, the identity politics crowd have come out strong. As per usual, Bernie Sanders is taking the brunt of the criticism. MSNBC has become such a dumpster fire of corporatism, war mongering, and identity politics that they actually let a woman come on to express her hatred for old white men. She says it's time for people to get excited about female candidates. Since she obviously embraces identity politics, she clearly doesn't give a damn about policy substance. She also goes after Bernie because some women who worked for his campaign claim they were sexually harassed by men who also worked for his campaign. Of course, women who worked for Hillary's campaign made the same claim. Good times.

The woman in the video also called Bernie "disheveled, unlikable, and pushy." If a man said that about a woman on mainstream news, he would be boiled alive in oil. Of course, the funniest part about it is that it flies in the face of reality. Bernie's actually the most liked politician, but the establishment only promotes voices that disingenuously smear him.

The reason the conservatives are saying the right things about feminism nowadays is that the conservatives are so familiar with what a scam looks like (as they've been dishing them out for ages)
