Anybody can say they support a particular policy. It's what they do when it's necessary to act that really matters. Obama lied about codifying Roe vs. Wade, as did Biden. Biden and the Dems also promised to increase the minimum wage, cut student loan debt, and implement the public option, yet none of that happened. Obama also promised to implement the public option, and we got a right wing healthcare plan instead. He also managed to take us from two wars to seven and make the Bush tax cuts permanent.
Wars and the military budget have also flourished under Biden's presidency, as has inflation. Biden literally said Americans will have to deal with the high cost of living for "as long as it takes" to fight Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Then there's the fact that the conflict in Ukraine was egged on by US and NATO meddling. Of course, the Dems fast tracked billions in aide to Ukraine, billions to corporations during the pandemic, and only a paltry $1400 check to the rest of us. It's no wonder Biden's approval rating is so abysmal.
Establishment media is freaking out because the Dems are in danger of being wiped out in the mid terms. Dems are going to do what they do best, and that is find issues to campaign on. They won't actually do anything to solve them, and that's by design. Nancy Pelosi said that party needs to court socially conservative Trump supporters. Chuck Schumer said the party would pick up two moderate Republicans for every blue collar Democrat they lost. Does this sound like a party that cares about progressive issues?
They've made the mistake of saying the quiet part out loud too many times. Issues like abortion are just campaign candy they can run on to garner votes. Even a progressive stalwart like Bernie Sanders backs Biden and ridiculously refers to him as "the next FDR." The so-called progressive members of "the squad" were elected precisely to apply leverage to establishment Dems, but they've proven to be nothing more than virtue signaling keyboard warriors on Twitter. The Dems operate as a controlled opposition party.
