Julia didn't die, in the spring house fire. She is reunited with her mother Angela.


Cartel boss Gustav Riebmann of German descent has Julia, under 'lock and key' in his mansion. Riebmann is pretending to be a French psychiatrist who is also into real estate, named Jean-Louis de Bercy. Gustav's assistant Renee brings Angela at gun point, to meet Julia. The evil impersonator is watching them through a two way mirror. Could Julia be going bonkers again, (a scene from season 4, 1984-'85):

Angela: "I've been at Falcon Crest. Where have you been?"

Julia: "I feel like I've been to hell and back, since the fire at the springhouse but it's all starting again. All the bad thoughts and voices."

(Julia was such a tormented soul; in the 3rd season, burdened by anxiety, hatred and an intention to kill again).

Angela: "Well! We did come together that day, if only for a moment."

Julia: "Did we? I don't remember. I'm so mixed up! Doctor de Bercy is helping me sort out my feelings."

Angela: "I bet he is. He is no more French than I am and he is not a Doctor. He is a German named Riebmann."

Julia: "No he isn't."

Angela: "He is the head of some international crooks that are trying to take over Falcon Crest."

Julia: "I don't believe you!"

Angela: "He is also responsible for the sabotaging of Richard's plane. Now Phillip died in that accident and that leaves me a widow again. Do you know where we were going? We were taking your ashes to Italy, to scatter over the Tuscany Valley. YOUR ASHES, as you requested Julia!"

Great video @Toni and I agree with your number 1 choice of the reveal of the flashback to when Angela's baby was stolen. It is one of my favourite scenes in the in any of the 1980s prime-time soap operas.

It's the same to her if you find out you had a child with a woman you had an affair with years ago. What to lose your first child whose birth you have awaited the illusion of a new mother

It would have been far less believable had she completely ignored the existing rivalry and animosity between them to immediately love and feel maternal towards Richard.

In Soap Opera they jokingly published a diary of Richard Channig I loved this entry

Alexis always felt guilty that Adam was kidnapped due to an oversight. And that Adam had a happy childhood with a loving grandmother
To take revenge on Angela, Richard was kidnapped and raised by a man who never considered himself a father and who involved him in a criminal organization that almost cost him his life. But Angela never asked her for forgiveness or took an interest in her childhood, nor was she CAPABLE of any affectionate gesture.
The problem is that David-Richard were very affectionate and tender, and Angela-Jane's coldness was more evident, if when she kisses him at Christmas it seems that she has kissed him by a bug

I think it is very uncharitable to dismiss a Hollywood legend, multiple Oscar nominee and Oscar winner as "an old person". Jane achieved far more in her career than Susan. I would guess that quote was taken out of context because it doesn't sound like the kind of thing that Susan would say.

By this logic, Jane was also a sweet deaf girl because she played one in Johnny Belinda (1948). She was also great with children and loved by them because that was the character she played in The Blue Veil (1951). Or maybe, and this is a wacky idea, she was actually acting.

Nothing more opposite to Richar Chaning, who is a marvelously interpreted character.
But the charm, warmth and good humor belongs to David,
No matter how good an interpreter you are, you cannot always hide and especially in close-ups in a series as long as Falcon Crest
Jane was wonderful in Belinda. She is not a beauty and she had a very miserable childhood. That allowed her to contact her character
But her Angela is very reminiscent of Pollyanna's Aunt Polly, a rigid and unmaternal woman as she really was Jane.

Was a wedding forced by the writers
Nobody believed that a few months after the death of Maggie, the love of his life, Richard fell in love with a woman like Lauren.
If you look from minute 35 of the last episode, Richard doesn't say a single word again. I guess he was just as angry as many viewers at that horrible series finale, the third least watched of the entire series.
If Maggie could not be resuscitated . Richard should have remained a widower. Emma would have gone to live with him and would have helped him raise his children
Richard and Maggie's almost wordless wedding in the seventh was more emotional
Susan has never been married, not even with her current partner. She couldn't help but tear up because, as she said, she had never experienced such a moment in her real life.

Yes exactly. They were sworn enemies for years and finding out Richard was her still alive son would have been enough to send any mum to the vintage Pinot Noir. Angela as tough as old boots did it her way, afterall he was going to poison her albeit in jest (arsenic on the rocks).

In the fifth series, a scene in which Angela visited Richard who pretended to be in a coma, in the hospital, was deleted.

We've had our problems, you and I. But I never wished this on you. Jail, several times, or bankruptcy...but not getting shot like a dog on the road.
At the end of the eighth when Richard is supposed to be broke and going to spend many years in jail. She seems satisfied by making Michael read an article in which the subject is discussed.
But Richard is her SON, not Douglas's bastard.
What a good definition "She is a mean old biddy with a heart of stone"
Maybe Falcon Crest didn't just succeed in the United States for that reason

DYNASTY easily had the edge over the other three, in terms of those dramatic staircase scenes. Imho Chao-Li's tumble at the end of season 6 is quite the must see, with a fairly good thespian performance from Angela's right hand man. My favourite staircase scene from all of the eighties primetime shows is Blake attempting to choke Alexis after she insults him and Krystle, even though we all knew the queenbee would be still above the sod when season 7 commenced.


Lance and his new love interest Lorraine arrive at Falcon Crest. They are greeted by Angela; via Chao-Li, with attorney Greg Reardon in the background, (a scene from season 4, 1984 - '85):

Chao-Li: "Your grandmother is not to be disturbed!"

Lance and Greg are just about to fight, Chao-Li separates them. Angela hearing all the commotion appears from the second storey and stands on the stairs.

Angela with a face like thunder looks down at Lorraine and Lance: "Now stop that and listen to me! You're not welcome here Lance Cumson and neither is that little tramp that is with you."

Lance: "You leave her out of this."

Angela: "She is out of it and so are you!"
