Why not just make them late 20s early 30s? Then they have a bit of life behind them and you would care more about their actions. You could see them having lives and jobs and a bit of drama. Early 20s they have just got out of school... It feels teeny.

In the original show, Fallon and Steven were early 20s and did have lives and jobs a bit of drama: Blake wanted Steven to work at Denver-Carrington but instead he went to work for Matthew Blaisdel; plus, Steven had his "New York past"; and ended up having an affair with his new boss' wife, Claudia. As for Fallon, she was more or less blackmailed by Cecil into marrying Jeff. Her main job was just to be a socialite, a woman of leisure, making connections and friendships with all the other wealthy and influential people in the upper crust.

Why can't that be the same deal for the new Steven and Fallon?

Well, in the series bible it stated Fallon was 23 and Steven was 22, but somebody else pointed out it was more likely Fallon was 24. But let's see...

Adam was probably a year old when he was kidnapped (Alexis mentioned to Amanda in s5 that she still had Adam a year after she had married Blake), and by the time s3 came around, he had been gone for 25 years. So in s3, Adam would have been 26-ish, thus making Fallon during that time approximately 25. So in s1, she would have been 23. And Steven, of course, is younger.

For years now I've assumed that Adam, Fallon and Steven were all born within a year or so of one another. But I could be wrong, this is DYNASTY, after all; it changes its background information on a whim.

They looked older to me but perhaps that had something to do with the way they dressed and the fact that they've been away from home for quite a while when the story begins.
And I myself was much younger so I guess 20-something looked "old".

Anyway, the new actors should look old enough to marry, have a job, babies etc.

The thing is that now actors in their 30s look like teens and people in their 20s.

Nope, I don't believe so. But again, their ages can be guessed by how long Adam was gone and how old he was when he was kidnapped. But I think the ages you chose for them are suitable.

I wondered if maybe they should de-age Lindsay so that she's a little girl, which would mean the show gets less time to devote to her and more time to the other, more interesting, characters. Besides, if Alexis has been gone for 16 years, and if she had just conceived Amanda when she left, then Amanda would be 15, and thus could be the show's Token Teen Member or what have you.

Besides, having Lindsay be younger would mean Claudia gets to be younger, which would make her more suitable for Steven and Adam - that is, if she ends up getting paired with either of them.

In most non-soap shows (from 24 to Bloodline), sooner or later the angsty teenager (longing for a good bitchslap) usually ruins the middle-to-high quality of the show, and everybody begins to ask for his/her decapitation in public through hilarious memes. Why not change Lindsay´s sex and make him a gay teenager who has a crush on Steven? This is very usual. Haven´t any of you been in that situation?

What about the daughter from Castle? She was portrayed as a perfect-yet-kooky goody-two-shoes who actually served as a cute foil to her dad and grandma's antics. That's another possible portrayal of Lindsay.

Why not change Lindsay´s sex and make him a gay teenager who has a crush on Steven? This is very usual. Haven´t any of you been in that situation?

Well, that´s when I think the plot would get really interesting...Instead of Steven having an affair, I´d have him being manipulated by a truly insane woman (not "our" Claudia, of course: the CW´s Claudia) who wants to sleep with a gay guy just for the sake of it: she has never done one. CW audiences probably could understood much better this than the original "twin souls approaching each other in the middle of the turmoil" or whatever they dared to define this storyline originally. Then the Blaisdel kid would go psycho and kill Mama causing a short-circuit while she is ironing the clothes or something like that. And he then thinks he´s got him for himself. This sounds like a TVM from the 90´s, doesn´t it?

Eh, I'd pass on that. I don't mind the characters have slightly different quirks and storylines this time around, but I would like them to be essentially the same as they were in the original. Granted, Claudia did turn evil in season 6, but she had a reason then.

I'm not sure if Lindsay should have stayed forever, but I liked her in season 1.

Really? That's very odd, because usually whenever I hear somebody talk about Lindsay, its usually a hate-comment. ^^ I myself didn't really like her, but I did think she was fairly essential, at least to Claudia anyway.
